"Must be Palasha. Why you reckon she's in a fish bowl instead of just swimmin' around in the lake?" Xivros wonders aloud as he nudges Rory to get his attention. "You want to ask her about Candlefoot or should I. Might be a touchy subject if they're lovers torn asunder by a lost words." He applauds in appreciation for the show as they approach.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Robin (the Fairy) replies to Nickolas comment of "...be more careful..." with "Why, thank you Captain Helpful."
And starts wandering the carnival asking about people looking for lost things. She also looks for anything that seems unusual, on her way to the funhouse (presumably where you'd lose fun).
(For the Feywild and carnival, almost anything is usual, so treating it as an Insight roll instead of perception. Insight: 21
But here's a perception roll if needed Perception: 8 )
"Excuse me, I'm looking for a 'burly' He apparently guards some of the wagons, have you seen him?" Marwan politely interrupts the fairy outside of the staff area's riveting conversation with the thorns to ask for information, he is still watching the time, for the most part.

Robin sees all sorts of odd sights and sounds, but nothing in particular seems to stand out. (Are you looking for anything in particular? And if it isn't clear, Robin is the fairy that Marwan is addressing.)
(Also, I am travelling on business this week, which may not mean anything, but if I go silent for a few days, it is probably just because I am lost in work.)

1. She'd look for any establishment with "smile" on it's sign or shouted by the huckster, like "sure to make you smile" or related to smiles like "Funhouse"
2. She'd look for groups of adults wandering around looking for something)
"Burly" she says "I don't know the name but I can fly up and take a look. What does he look like? Burly guy or a skinny guy with an ironic name? And do you know where Imight find something i lost?"
"I couldn't get a description out of the swan i asked about it....it's been a long day, don't ask." he notes, sighing, he had asked for a description. "I was going to the staff area to ask the staff if they knew where he was, it seemed like a good idea. I do work here after all, if it helps, he had a brother named Hurly." Marwan adds, looking for the entrance through the thicket so he can get in

Xivros waits for the show to properly conclude before stepping forward to introduce himself to Palasha. "Good to meet you, ah'm Xivros. Don't suppose you'd be able to tell me if there's a swamp around here somehwere? And I was hoping to find Mr. Candlefoot. Word on the street is he lost his voice or something like that. And I happened to be missing something too, so ah thought maybe he'd know something about that. Oh, and have you by any chance seen a displacer kitten around anywhere?"
As Robin and Marwan discuss the situation, the hedges part to admit them. As a witchhand, Marwan is magically allowed access. (OOC: Thanks for th reminder!) Enclosed by the wall of thorns is a circle of eight brightly painted wagons, one of which is a glass-enclosed water tank for Palasha the mermaid. The fanciest of the remaining seven wagons belongs to Mister Witch and Mister Light.
Inside the wall of thorns, patrolling the perimeter, is a bugbear which Marwan believes is Burly. He wears a large jack-o’-lantern on his head, as one would wear a helmet, in addition to his dungarees and fake fairy wings. Just outside the circle of wagons, you see a clown eyeing you warily.
Meanwhile, as Xivros watches the show and waits for it to end, a heckler in the crowd shouts "You call this singing? Go get some lessons!" As you look to spot the heckler, he disappears into the crowd. Soon after, another lady stands up and says "I wasted good money on this? Boo!" Again, though, the person is there, and then in a blink of the eye appears to be gone. Finally, nearby, a dwarf shouts "And she's ugly too!" The crowd seems uncomfortable, but not as much as the performer herself. The mermaid falters in mid-song, leaps out of her bowl, and darts off, heading downriver.
(OOC: Wait, did I misunderstand this? Are Robin & Marwan too far from Palasha's performance to have noticed?)
Something seems suspicious to Robin about hecklers of beautiful song & mermaid..
"You try & talk to Burly & I'll handle the crowd.", she tells Marwan
She tries to judge true intent (Insight 5)
And see if there's anything suspicious in the crowd (perception 7)
And calm the crowd.(performance 5, 7 if that would be persuasion)
"People, I don't know why anyone would complain about equally beautiful songs and songstress. Let's give the lady some applause and cheers to show we loved her!"
(Not sure how many rolls we can make in an action if there's a reminder for the future, but since they failed...)
(OOC: Yes, I think you misunderstood, but the lake and the staff area are close to each other. Marwan and Xivros split up, and so I was introducing you to Marwan, and thought Rory was going to tag along with Xivros, but Rory has left the game, so we will continue to look for someone.)

Marwan approaches Burly the bugbear quickly! "Hello there, are you burly? I'm out looking for lost things, I heard you lost your brother, hurly, what can you tell me about that incident, if you don't mind me asking?" marwan asks, hoping to get useful information, he pointedly ignores the clown, they're not real if you don't acknowledge them!
Scratching his chin at the odd heckler. “Ah thought her singin was nice. An even if I didn’t, no reason to shout about it.” Xiv is a bit at a loss. Not much he can do to follow the mermaid, so instead he starts asking around about Candlefoot to see if anyone in the audience knows where he can be found before they disperse.
Burly, the bugbear, looks at the new comers. "You ain't supposed to be back here without an escort. But since you mention my brudder, sure... yes, he did disappear. Didn't even say goodbye. Left a simple note that said 'back in three years'. It's true Hurly 's short temper and blustery nature made him unpopular, so maybe it's for the best, but I sure do miss him."

As Xivros asks some questions, a young harengon pipes up. "I beleive I heard that Candlefoot is punching tickets over at the Hall of Illusions these days. Wow, was it ashame the way that whole proposal thing went. Must have gotten cold feet or maybe cat just got his tongue? Anyway, he is the saddest mime I have ever seen."
"He was a mime the whole time? Wild. Cat huh? I'm lookin for one of those too. Thank you muchly. Ah'll see you round." Xiv can't think of any other questions to ask. so he takes a mosey over to the hall of illusions.
Hurly's disappearance strikes Robin as odd. "Did Hurley lose his temper the day he left? Any idea where he went? How soon till he returns when the 3 years are up? Does the return date match an important event?"

I don't know if anyone saw them, I thought I saw results for the rolls in the above post, but I didn't see a record of them in the game log.
So I re-rolled on the character sheet:
16 insight
21 perception (original failure iirc)
If acceptable.
