“Henilens council seems courageous and wise! Starker and Hoid have provided sound reasons to return. given the opportunity, I would prefer to return and have a clear understanding if the townspeople are alive.”
“We are now rested and have a better understanding of the evil of this place. Chadwick and I have Tyrs might that we can use on the dead who cannot sleep.” “I do not fear the undead, I pity them.”
”let us return and cleanse this place of the evil that permeates this ground.”
Kragen prepares for departure and begins to pray. “Protect those that walk and the light, and bring power to those that combat evil.”
Sounds well reasoned. Let's prepare for our return.
Since our rescues were ok with us going back thats what tipped it for me. I think we should be back at camp a couple of hours before dusk so we can move further away since the wraiths know where we are at.
I would prefer to leave at least one silver dagger with the folks at camp.
With pact of the blade, Darkbane is considered magical in terms of overcoming resistance It also basically jumped out of the sheath when the undead showed up. So I should be okay.
Pact of the Blade
You can use your action to create a pact weapon in your empty hand. You can choose the form that this melee weapon takes each time you create it (see the Weapons section for weapon options). You are proficient with it while you wield it. This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Hoid will give a silvered dagger to starker and the blue man group. He is devoid of silvered daggers (but I haven’t removed any of the three from inventory—receipts).
Kragen will hand the silver dagger to Henilen. “I hope this is not needed and you have an uneventful period while we are gone. If we are not back by sunset, I suggest you head North to Shalecliff. May Tyr be with you!”
Suggested approach in same fashion, along river/lake bank. Start clearing from the east to west. Leaving tower for last. Slightly modified marching order with Chadwick, Kragen, Hoid or Trolkarl, Starker and Gnueman.
Starker: In my studies I have learned that dragons oft agglomerate treasure into so-called hoards. If we manage to find the blue dragonling’s hoard, perhaps it will contain evidence of the fate of the townsfolk. Didn’t the blue wizard say “For a dragon so young, he was already arrogant and greedy. It is good you ended him now. He buries his hoard under the sands. Stay away from the scattered coins. Those are traps set by Azurixtan to capture intruders.” But perhaps that is something that should wait until we have confronted The Child of Night and his at-least-two wraithy photophobes.
Hoid, “We departed the dragon’s lair with great haste. Our foray into the Spider’s stronghold was haphazard. I would prefer to complete the dragon’s lair before investigating the tower. I propose we look for the dragon’s hoard to see if there are any items or information that could aid us. We can also determine where the tunnel out of the cavern leads.”
Chadwick will use Divine Sense to see if he can pick up on the wraiths.
If yes (as detected before a general sense not specific)-" I can sense the wraiths, but can't get a location. The power of their evil makes it easier to sense them."
/OOC Usually Divine Sense is 60', but Chadwick seems to pick them up them further away.
If yes and can get location - I sense the wraiths! They seem to be that way (pointing).
If no - I'm not sensing the wraiths down here.
Assuming he only gets a general sense or nothing at all he says the following...
"Since we know where they were disposing the bodies I feel like we should help Gneuman climb down the cliff to see if the townsfolk already met the demise."

Kragen nods in agreement with Hoid's feedback.
This may also lead to more clues about the townsfolk.

Ok, trying to unravel some of this?? Are you indicating that you are getting a directional sense to the Wraith's location?
Note to all, the map link had the clue "Wraith's Tower", hint hint.
"Sir Chadwick, i have the utmost confidence in Gnueman's ability to scale height's, however this seems like a highly risky activity? We have some clues however we know not of their condition at this point. I would suggest that we search the compound in total for more clues. They could be captives, searching the area may be more prudent.", "If that leaves us the cliff face and we were unable to find a better way down, we could explore that option, if good Gnueman were open to the effort."

Chadwick concurs with the new plan, and will join Kragen in prayer.

(For the record, I was not advocating one way or the other. I was only trying to summarize the facts as I see them.)

Revision, since we posted nearly simultaneously: Hoid will give one dagger to Starker and keep one.
Henilen accepts the dagger, “If it comes to this we are already lost.”
(( How are you exploring? ))

Kragens suggestion.
Kragen to Henilen “let’s hope it does not come to that, my friend.”

How high is the cliff? (In the unlikely event it is less than 30’ Starker wiuld be able to lend a Mage Hand with the corpse rummaging.)
The cliff height varies to a small degree at around 200 feet high.
Kragen nods in agreement with Hoid's feedback.
