If we have no information about the Fight Club, Hoid will find a place to sleep (first inn, or second, wherever we still have a room).
The next morning he will go buy a quarter staff for use around town instead of the great sword.
After purchase of the quarter staff, he will try to find someone that can provide geologic information with the intention of learning the prevalence of caves in the city. Is there a library in town? Librarians live to help people find information.
Starker: “Damnit, Gohumbee. Please hand me a nondescript robe to go over my magnificent raiment. My light being thus hidden under that bushel, I will go into the Fight Club and look around and ask about the contest. I will pretend to be a manager of an out of town fighter. Perhaps one of you will stay outside but within 100’ with Cyrus on your shoulder. If Cyrus bites you on the ear it means I am in trouble.”
waits 10 minutes to see if anyone joins and then heads out.
For as secretive as Durgan Vox made this place sound, it is pretty much out in the open. There is a sign over the door that says "Fight Club" with two orc guards out front. The front doors are open and you can see a large crowd walking into and out of Fight Club. A roar from inside belies a large crowd and action in progress. You see a low column rising from the floor with a box mounted on top of it. There is a slot in the top of the box. Written down the front of the column it says, "1sp, Honesty is Best."
Walking around the building you see there are smaller doors on each of the other three walls. A single orc guard is at each of these closed doors.
Starker feeds the box with as many silver pieces are needed for the party (at least 3, more if the are more of us than Starker, Hoid, and Kragen). Asks a guard ‘To whom should I speak about gaining access to the competition for a newcomer?’
Gneuman will also tag along. It would seem that the prospects of a "fight club" may be right in his wheel-house. Especially, if it is of the unarmed variety.

The orc guard eyes Starker, then the dwarves. He snorts derisively. “Hsion is who you want to talk to,” then looking at the dwarves, “Amateur league can use some new meat!” Both guards break out in snorting laughter at this.
The Fight Club is hopping. From the bill posted on the wall at the front there are 12 matches tonight. Most of the names sound orcish, some likely human and others you have no idea. The current match has an orc in light armor facing an unarmored Goliath. Hoid tells you the Goliath has the upper hand.
People are jammed around the ring in the center of the building. A low stone wall is there built like a fence to allow vision through the gaps. Risers surround ring as well. The fight floor is 15’ below and appears to be clay.
Two bar areas are sells mugs of ale to drink and bread, cheese and dried meats to eat. There are privies under the stairs leading up to box seat galleries above the ring. Most of those are full of a wealthier looking clientele. Velvet ropes are across the stairs.
There are two doors to rooms at the back. Each of these has posted guards. A counter on the far wall has three humans behind it and a wager board on the wall. They are taking bets on the fights.

Sorry a little late. Going along with plan, just adding a couple of quick things.
Trolkarl and Chadwick will pretend to be additional body guards for Starker. Speaking of which what name is he and Hoid going by?
They can get some cheap beer and sit nearish the fight club where they are partially hidden from view pretending like they're bored and dicing, but close enough to jump in if there is an emergency. Preferably with a view of front door.

Hoid asks that guard, “Where can we find Hsion? Once we do, would you care to face off against this amateur? I find it hard to imagine you could be more fearsome than the dragons I’ve faced.”
Guided by his cosmic-all grasping genius, Starker heads to the north side of the room to where the bookies are and speaks to the easternmost being.
“I was told that Hsion could tell us about how to get a newcomer into the matches.”
(As he goes by the eastern wall he looks carefully at the staircase. does the staircases go down and does it look spiral like that one the fish depicted?)

(( Tick Tock. It has been 48 hours since the disappearance of Lady Stormrider. ))

Hoid will go with Starker.
If Starker wants more muscle, Kragen will go. With his Holy Symbol tucked under his shirt.
Hoid can play the fighter, Kragen his corner man.
“Outstanding. Let us learn what we can see and see what we can learn.”

Watches ongoing match. Fists only, full-on MMA, weapons, spells?
Gneuman will also tag along. It would seem that the prospects of a "fight club" may be right in his wheel-house. Especially, if it is of the unarmed variety.
Chadwick, should we tag along or keep an eye from the street?

Gneuman will be 10 gp on the goliath.
No more betting on this match. It is already under way.

Cloak hood is up and holy symbol hidden.
Starker and the wee folk have entered the Fight Club.
Chadwick and Trolkarl are waiting outside.
Hoid asks that guard, “Where can we find Hsion? Once we do, would you care to face off against this amateur? I find it hard to imagine you could be more fearsome than the dragons I’ve faced.”
"In there, meat," he says with a tusky grin pointing inside.
The current match is unarmed, unarmored combat. MMA best descriptor. You now see that a judge is in the ring as well, a giff.
