Regardless if they are pushed back, the other two plant dogs shake their rosebud heads and jump right back into the fight clawing at Kit.

A loud boom sounds in the distance, causing the crowd to fall into momentary silence. Then they immediately start panicking again.  Kalgren's amplified voice causes another momentary pause in the chaos, and some of the villagers heed his words. However, others simply go back to fighting.

Lulu successfully severs the vine holding Zale's body. She falls limply into Kalgren's arms. Sharp pain spikes through his arms where thorns dig into his flesh.

Suddenly Cassian is standing beside Kalgren. He looks at the body with a sad gaze, then looks at the half-elf. "I can take care of this, Elenor and I will ensure the safety of these villagers. Go. I gathered that you have friends that need you."

Omen and Thar continue to rush in the direction of that Boom. (roll perception)

Plant dog 3 growls and clicks in pain and anger as Amery's bullets tear significant chunks of plant matter from it's body. (You can roll a Wis save to see if you get uncharmed every time you take damage)

Plant dogs 1 and 2 explode when hit by Kit's Thunderwave, shooting thorny scraps and blood red sap splattering everywhere.

Plant dog 4 con save 8.

Twig huddles close to Amery as if cowering behind him. However, the grin on her face sends a completely different message... Not long after the two plant dogs explode, two more lumps of vines fall from the writhing mass blocking your exit. Two more flower heads bloom, and two more barbed tails whip back and forth. These new plant dogs now join the fight hissing and clicking. (Taking the place of 1 and 2)

After recovering from Kit's hit, plant dog 4 rushes back towards the half-elf and strikes with it's tail.

Amery breaks free of the spell and turns to shove the girl away from him. However, his hands pass through her body only to collide with what feels like a thorny vine inside of her. The grin on her pale face twists farther warping into a rabid snarl. 

Take : 1 piercing damage 

"You fool! You could have been spared but now you will die!" She giggles, "You know to much!" 

Both of you feel the pain from your wounds inflicted by the beast's tails spike. You stare down at them in horror as thorny vines start to sprout from the injuries, slowly but surely twining their way through and across your skin. (take 4 damage each round)

Despite the pain, Amery fires a shot at the plant dog that stabbed him. The bullet sinks into the beast and it lets out a screeching yelp.

Suddenly a dark shape appears racing along the rooftops then jumps down into the alley. The figure carries a torch in one hand and an unlit lantern in the other. Sparing a glance at the two of you, you both recognize the drow from the Stonedog. Gritting his teeth, brandishes the torch and throws the lantern at the coiling mass of vines blocking your escape splattering oil over a good deal of it. Then he proceeds to try to light it on fire.

(Kit's turn is up)

As Omen and Thar race towards the booming noise, the catch sight of something moving in the distance. At this distance, it appears to be some kind of mass with tentacles protruding over the rooftops. Whatever it is, it looks like trouble.

Kalgren looks Cassian in the eye, trying to get a read on him. The man seems genuine, and is more than confident that he and Elenor can take care of the issue at hand. You can also tell that he is aware of the thorny vines and the roses on the victims body. However, he has not addressed them. Actually, he seems like he is trying to get a read on you as well.

Moving close to the Drow, who ignores you for the time being, you notice the plant dogs are very hesitant to move closer to you. Based on Twig's earlier explanation, you can guess that's thanks to the Drow's torch. Hissing and clicking, they pace back and forth creating a semi circle around you. Phantom Twig glares daggers at you and bears her teeth. However, she seems just as hesitant to enter the circle of light. Within seconds, the wall of thorns bursts into flame. The remaining plant dogs retreat, some jumping to the rooftops, others disappearing into the long shadows cast by the blaze. Phantom Twig lets out a blood curdling scream, "YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE! IT IS INEVITABLE!" Then she turns to dust.

(Combat ended)

Unfazed by what just transpired, the drow spins around to face the two of you scowling. "Did either of you get hit by the tails?" He growls looking over you with his silver eyes. Seeing both of your wounds, he brandishes the torch. "You need to cauterize those. quickly!" Without warning, he grabs Kit by the arm and plunges the burning torch onto her thorny wound. Kit screams, and white lights dance in her vision as the pain takes over. Despite her screams, the drow wards off any attempt for her to pull away firmly holding the burning torch in place.

Amery barely has time to react as this happens, but he can feel the thorns in his own wound continuing to grow. (Take another 3 damage) As this happens, the thorny wall collapses, turning to ash nearly as fast as it caught fire. A few moments later, Omen and Thar round the corner, followed by Kalgren.

Cassian nods to Kalgren, then turns to the villagers. Raising his hands, he starts to try to calm the villagers down. Surprisingly, his presence seems to do the trick and many of them turn to listen to him. Kalgren however, does not linger long enough to hear the elf's speech instead he leaves Lulu behind and takes off after his companions.

As Omen and the now giant Thar continue towards the writhing mass, soon they are close enough to make out exactly what it is. Vines have grown across an alley, blocking off whatever is on the other side. As they get closer, it suddenly bursts into flames. Not long after, four dark shapes jump to the rooftops and rush towards the forest, vanishing into the night. A skrill, inhuman scream penetrates the air, soon followed by another scream....this one sounds like Kit. The thorny wall burns for a few moments, then crumples to ash relieving the scene behind it.

The drow you saw at the inn, is currently grasping Kit's shoulder and holding a burning torch to the skin of her arm.

Kalgren arrives just in time to see the burning wall collapse.
