"Ah, Bridgette... nice girl, but not really the sharpest tool in the shed. Yes, she lives in the city. If you want to meet her she's often at the tavern in the evenings."
The city (really more like a large town) is sparsely populated. Most of the residents are human, though a small number of tieflings and half-orcs can also be seen here and there. It's a humble community, but friendly enough.
There are a few noteworthy buildings within the city: the aforementioned tavern, the governor's mansion (it is a much more modest one than Charlie's), a town meeting hall, a marketplace, and, interestingly, a single temple that looks extremely old but well maintained. You could probably stay the night either in the temple or in one of the rooms above the tavern.
You still have a few hours until sunset. What do you do?
"Oh, don't worry Delvindra, honey..." Duwamilly replies "I think Mayor Erickson will have no difficulty finding us, in his own city... and we have to wait for news from him. All we have to do is decide whether we prefer to stay the night either in the temple or in one of the rooms above the tavern - in the evening we will meet all there. The temple seems more interesting to me, by the way! Maybe it will be less comfortable than the tavern, but it fascinates me more".
"Anyway," the ex-Preceptor continues "if it doesn't bother you, I'd like to accompany you... Both meeting Bridgette and visiting the temple interest me!"
Being much more interested in what the tavern could offer than a temple, no matter what gods it was built to impress and flatter, Yasmina too would be glad to come along to both the temple and the tavern, but she would much prefer to spend the night at the tavern though. "Maybe we start with that temple then?"She suggests with a small smile. "And don't forget to do a bit of suffering now on your way there."She says teasingly to the Tiefling. "And you better have some really good jokes prepared." She turns and says to the ex-preceptor.
The temple is dedicated to Boccob, god of magic and balance. According to the governor, it has been here since before the calamity that turned the island into what it is now. The temple is almost more like a library of arcane knowledge than a traditional place of worship.
"Hey, you didn't tell us about this yet, Mr. Erickson!" Duwamilly exclaims, procrastinating, on the wave of curiosity of the moment, her impulse to carry out some search for knowledge inside the temple-library "What was this 'calamity that turned the island into what it is now'? How did it happen? And when?"
Cal will respond to Didi, "I am feeling the weapon's hunger clawing at the edges of my sanity. The exercise helps as the ability to stretch our legs, but I worry I will not be in my wits when we meet the Lord of this island. Do any of you have any suggestions?" He will also turn to the mayor, "Is there any trouble on the island you are currently experiencing that you need help...removing? "

The mayor is referring to when the servants of Lolth sacked the city, approximately two thousand years ago. The massive amounte of dark magic used in the assault and the outpouring of innocent blood corrupted the land into what it is now.

The mayor strokes his beard thoughtfully.
"By the decree of Lord Akkron, the restless spirits cannot cross the city's borders. Most other creatures that would do us harm fear what would happen if they made a move against our Lord. But on occasion inhabitants of the Underdark have attacked our mining operations if you feel inclined to help with security."

'Truly a land that deserves more joy' Duwamilly thinks, troubled by the episode of incredible violence that was even capable of changing the appearance of the island, for millennia, up to the present day. 'Perhaps it would be a good idea, to found a temple of Garl Glittergold, here... perhaps next to the temple of Boccob! Culture and good humor can help each other... it's a fact, that those who study while having fun, learn better'.
Anyway, focusing on the present, the ex-Preceptor begins to carry out some research inside the temple-library... Research similar to those already carried out in Charlie's well-stocked library: any information on the Great Wyrm Sserah "One Who Sleeps" Nightsbane, or on Lord Matic Akkron, or on Firion the "Exalted of the Dragon".
However, the gnome cleric is also interested in meeting Bridgette, so when Delvindra goes to meet her she temporarily suspends the search (she can always continue at a later time).
Stepping inside the old temple of boring books, Yasmina do realize it could hold a treasure of knowledge for them, but being anything but bookish herself, the red-haired Half-Elf doesn't even know where to start to look for useful information, instead following the Tiefling around, ready to assist her if she comes up with anything.
(Help action provided for any research rolls made by Delvindra.)
The library would not have anything regarding Firion (most of these books are several hundred years old), and anything regarding Sserah Nightsbane is probably stuff you already know (at least, at a glance it looks like it's stuff you already know. If you wanted to spend a day or so pouring over every text that mentions her name you might find something new).
Regarding Lord Akkron himself... there are also interestingly no books that give much information that you don't already have. The only really interesting thing you find in that regard is a paper speculating on what he might have done to achieve lichdom, as he never made a deal with Orcus and apparently never crafted a phylactery. The presented theories about how he actually achieved his rather unique state of undeath are far beyond your comprehension.

"Perhaps this is why Lord Akkron managed to remain good even after reaching his current 'state'..." Duwamilly doesn't realize that he is commenting aloud on the information he found "He never made a deal with Orcus and apparently never crafted a phylactery! Way to go, Matic!" without even realizing it, she finds herself clapping her little hands enthusiastically "In a way, we can say that you pranked Orcus! I'm sure Garl Glittergold likes you a lot! Of course, my Sire did not send me to you for nothing!"
Trusting in both the intellectual curiosity and investigative skill of their diminutive cohort, Delvindra focuses her search, with Yasmina's assistance, on a topic of particular interest to the two of them...cursed rings.
There is a fair amount of materials on cursed items, both specific items of importance and general speculations on the nature of such items. It would take you many hours, possibly even days, to read through the materials in enough depth to really gather much useful information, though.
One interesting thing you do stumble across, though, is a tome about genies. It interestingly mentions that genies of all kinds were somehow created by a mortal soul infused with power on one of the four elemental planes. It further states that the resulting genie rarely has any but the most vague memories from its mortal existence.

"I was told that your Lord has an apprentice. A Half-Orc named Bridgette. Does she live here or with Lord Akkron?"

Delvindra's gaze is unavoidably drawn to the temple.
"What god does your temple belong to? I'm curious what order would be both welcoming of and welcomed by a lich."
Didi turns to the others.
"I'm at least going to stop by the tavern and look for Bridgette. I promised to deliver a message for Sister Eila. When and where should we meet up?"
"Oh, don't worry Delvindra, honey..." Duwamilly replies "I think Mayor Erickson will have no difficulty finding us, in his own city... and we have to wait for news from him. "I actually meant where would we meet up. I thought after being hemmed in on the ship we may want to explore on our own a bit."
"Not that you aren't all welcome to come with me to the tavern! I probably won't be staying long but if anyone else is headed that way..."
"If you're going to the temple first," Didi responds to Yasmina's suggestion, "maybe we should all start there as well."
She clearly takes the Half-Elf's jest to heart, chewing on her lip pensively as they head towards the temple.
At some point, Didi will give Cal a slight nudge.
"How are you holding up?"

Yasmina does indeed help in any way she can to find what knowledge the temple library may hold on cursed rings.
