Lord Amir, of all people, suddenly realizes that finding the dragon would be a nearly impossible task, at least if the dragon is doing all that it can to stay hidden.
Being the ancient djinni he is, he has likely encountered such creatures before. One of the traits that makes deep dragons so dangerous is that they can shape-shift into nearly any form they desire...
There is a good chance that if the dragon's true form is revealed then any undead in the vicinity will attack it immediately.
With a concerned look Lord Amir reveals hid insights to the accursed. "As much as I would prefer to face this Deep Dragon I doubt this will happen. You should leave while you can mortals, I am sure our host can take it from here."The djinni lord practically implores and for once Yasmina nods in agreement with her master. "With it's shapechanging power we must expect the dragon to be able to use it's breath weapon on us before we will have the assistance of the undead and then most if not all of us will be dead and Firion will have the artefacts." She says grimly.
"There is a good chance that if the dragon's true form is revealed then any undead in the vicinity will attack it immediately..." Duwamilly mutters, trying to weigh all the possibilities "I assume this means the dragon will have taken the form of an undead. Because if he had taken the form of a living creature, most undead, considering their hatred for the living, they would have attacked him, right Marlin?" she asks the Phantom Warrior "And the dragon shouldn't keep too far from us... otherwise, it would only find out with great delay about the victory or defeat of the minions sent by the scamp Firion against us. I expect it to be relatively close".
"You can walk through walls, Marlin..." the ex-preceptor muses aloud "It shouldn't take you long to do a quick reconnaissance around the area, considering that you can take shortcuts that would be impossible for others. You might want to take a look at the creatures you encounter within a certain radius of here... The dragon may have taken on the appearance of an undead - but its character and behavior are still those of an dragon. You should be quite familiar with real undead, Marlin... I think if you saw the polymorphed dragon, you might notice some inconsistencies (for example, it might be too calm for an undead... or too bored... or it could have taken the form of a type of undead that you had never seen in this area of the catacombs, because they usually frequents different areas...)"
“Would you make this attempt for us?” the gnome cleric asks, with a glimmer of hope deep in her brown eyes "It won't take long - and if you spot a 'suspicious' undead nearby, we could think of a way for all the other undead nearby to go and check on it".
Duwamilly sighs: "Okay... I really have no other ideas on how to further aid Lord Akkron against his enemies..." she lets her gaze sweep over all the Accursed "If Lord Amir kindly carries us on the wings of the wind, we could go and warn Lord Akkron of what we managed to do (and what we didn't - at least he'll know what we left behind) then we all set off on yet another extraplanar trip".
"Does anyone still have the sending stone from Firion's spy," Delvindra asks, "Perhaps we should greet Lord Akkron's uninvited guest. Even if we follow Milly's plan, it might help lure more of his forces down here to the catacombs."
Upon listening to the discussion about retreating or not, you see Zander appearing to be having a conversation with someone (or something). He looks frustrated and throws up his hands and walks off. He stops short of the corridor and looks back to the group for a moment. You see a small smile on his face. His muffled conversation continues and finally you hear Snicker say "Fine, but you promised. No going back. We have a deal."

[[ OOC: Duwamilly would love to greet that scamp Firion... but I'm afraid we left the sending stone to Lord Akkron. Duwamilly hasn't the item in her character sheet, anyway. But if someone has the item and involves her in greetings, she has something funny to say to the Exalted... ]]

(😂Of course she does! At this point, I'd feel let down if she didn't!🤣)
If there is no way to lure more of Firion's minions into the catacombs, Delvindra will resign herself to leaving as well.
With the consensus reached, you all are enveloped in Lord Amir's spell. With the help of Marlin, you are able to navigate the tunnels again and return to the surface... as you move with supernatural swiftness towards your host's fortress, you catch sight of the battle that is still raging in the distance.
Much of the surrounding landscape has been charred by dragons' breath weapons, and several are still flying around. But it seems that Lord Akkron's fortress stands strong... and the bodies of several dragons lay still nearby while cultists and soldiers clash on the ground.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
The scene strikes a chord with Duwamilly... When she claims she is not an action gnome, she is telling the truth... She has begun a life of adventures since she discovered her love for her god, Garl Glittergold, but this is the first time that she finds herself in the midst of the theater of a great pitched battle. Of a war.
The ex-preceptor is grateful to be in cloud-like form, so her disturbance will perhaps be less evident, while she opens her mouth in surprise and horror and an impalpable tear falls down her face. The wounds of the earth foreshadow the terrible toll of blood that the war is demanding. Did someone she knew also die? Is Bridgette, Matic's half-orc apprentice, dead? Is Mr. Erickson, the mayor, dead? Anyway... does it matter that much, whether the people who died were people she knew or not?
"It's at the end that you laugh" the gnome cleric declares, perhaps without even realizing that he has given voice to her thoughts. It's not just a comforting phrase. It's not a hope. It's a certainty. She is now convinced: if Garl Glittergold made her cross Firion's path... evidently it was so that she could play enough pranks to that super-scamp to prevent him from unleashing further tragedies like this one. Yes, as in the best jokes, it's at the end that you laugh. At least, thanks to her and the rest of the kids, the island's attacking forces had to do without a good number of cultists and some elements of considerable power... the golem... the dao ...the deep dragon... Ok, the deep dragon wasn't killed, but at least it was kept out of the battle... And soon the power of the Curses, which the exalted scamp hoped to use to wake up the she -dragon-goddess-wannabe, will be firmly in the custody of Lord Akkron.
'Oh, Firion, how much we will laugh in the end...' Duwamilly finds her smile again, as she continues to ride the wind to warn Matic of the situation.
Lord Amir has seen many wars throuout the ages and keeps following Marlin to the Lich. So does Yasmina and Al-Asfeh, although the red-haired Half-Elf is not untouched by the death and destruction she witnesses. She started to hope she could confront Firion one day to put an end to this madness.
As Delvindra looks down on the carnage below her she sees neither the Shaded Isle nor a battlefield...this is nothing less than a glimpse of the Nine Hells themselves. Her tail coils around her leg in a death grip and, in spite of herself, a tear comes to her eyes.
"We can't leave. Not now. Not like this," she whispers, "not while they still fight."
(So, how do you guys plan to approach the fortress... which happens to be at the center of a raging battle involving dragons, artillery/archery bombardment, and spells slinging in every direction from cultists and defenders alike?)

Since Delvindra assisted with setting up the last trap, she can certainly HELP Duwamilly with the trap feasibility check.
...but Duwamilly is not the smartest pencil in the box, so the help is maybe better spent on an attemp of a smarter Accursed...
Yasmina and friends tries to assist in the planning.

I can try, Madam... the spirit says.
He phases through the wall and begins scouring the surrounding tunnels for any undead look like they might be dragons in disguise...

He returns about 20 minutes later, having scoured the immediate area thoroughly, but with no luck whatsoever.
None of the nearby dead are unusual or extraordinary in any way that I can see, he say apologetically.
