Hewelathan-Bear moves aside enough to let Nickeline speak, but he stays close to her to ensure that the creature cannot snatch her up without getting past him.  In a deep, quiet bear-voice, he quietly cautions her: "Be careful.  It looks like a fiendish sort of couatl, embodiments of the divine and keepers of their god's secrets and prophecies.  Magical and dangerous."

Korba is busy with the the ritual, so I'll move right to the Broken Coatl

With a hiss, the creature summons a ball of flame. The ball of flame drops in the middle of Hew-Bear, Nickeline, Hildegarde, and Tempahlic (presumably trying to destroy Jodie and Gorash as well, but the spell cannot penetrate the cozy hut. (As far as I can tell, the radius of the Fireball is big enough that Hew-Bear, Nickeline, Hildegarde, and Temphalic are all caught in the blast).

Everyone mentioned, make a DC 16 Dex save or take 30 fire damage (half damage on success).
