Aracynth watched as time seemed to slow. There was no wind, which only added to the odd sensation, and he could hear his own heartbeat and breathing as his adrenaline kicked in, overriding his revulsion at the skeletal figures. Kynortas dashed forward. An enraged battlecry erupted from him as he grabbed the mounted skeleton and smashed it to the ground. He fell on it with furious blows, fracturing bones where they lay.
Tharin, on the same cue, launched an arrow into the Undead Minotaur's shoulder. It's baleful gaze found the Elf for a moment, before it heaved it's greataxe at Kynortas. The axehead clanged loudly off the Human's shield, punctuated by a gasp from Tharin as the enemy archer found it's mark. The battered skeleton rose and swung its blade into the Human's armor, as he stepped away from the blow. Kynortas didn't see the skeletal horse rear though, and its crushing mass landed on the Fighter's shoulder with an audible CRAACK!! as the Human took an injurious blow.
Fizzbang's hands were aglow, as missiles of pure force exploded outwards, homing and seeking in on the distant archer. Each landed with a resounding THUD!
Time resumed. Aracynth finally focused, and found himself roaring a challenge of his own, as he charged into the fray to help Kynortas. He brought his greatsword in a low upward sweep, swinging into the horse's chest and neck, trying to push it back before it could smash the staggering Human again.
Tharin's side had seen its share of damage. Tharin shifted his weight to compensate for the pain, and launched another arrow towards the minotaur. With the creature distracted, he could make out the magical bonds holding the skeleton together, knitting the bones into shape. Tharin aimed for the joints. Weak points were weak points, right?
Attack: 7 Damage: 9
Sneak Attack: 6
"Much appreciated. Though if you hold off for a bit longer, it might deliver a few more arrows! What prompt service!" Chortled Tharin to Fizzbang.
As the arrow flies, Tharin scans the area for anywhere that can be used as cover against the enemy archer.
The bone shaking assault was dangerous on both sides. The skeletal archer shuddered several times as the wizard's force missiles exploded into its exposed ribcage. Once again at death's door it rises from one knee and raises its bow for another shot. Aiming, this time, at Fizzbang it looses an arrow! As an arrow flits into Fizzbang's right leg the skeleton seems to chatter its jaw... laughing... mocking the living. Adding insult to injury for the gnome who takes 5 damage!
The skeletal warhorse clatters as the Dragonborn's mighty greatsword clashes against its front shoulders. It shakes its mangled bridle, clanging against its exposed jawbones, and looks quite damaged, but still ready to fight. It rears up again, striking with both front hooves at Aracynth! In retaliation for the mighty blow struck to it and the loss of its rider, the steed crashes down onto Aracynth, dealing 8 damage to the paladin!
The last two skeletons focus on Kynortas, either bothered by his charge and cry or simply from some primeval hatred for the living fury in front of them. The skeletal warrior backs from Kynortas' first blow and his second slams into one of the few pieces of armor left rotting on its undead bones. The human's fist cracks against the metal and the skeleton thrusts forward, unabated, with its sword. After taking a hoof to the shoulder and missing his two blows, Kynortas is frustrated and missteps... allowing the skeletal warrior to find a vital spot within his defenses! He thrusts the sword into Kynortas' exposed stomach, its lower mandible clattering as it pushes, dealing 12 damage with its cracked, rusting old blade! (Nat 20 to hit...)
The minotaur does not seem to notice the arrow that lodges itself into its hip bone. The abomination continues to stalk forward, this time lowering its Greataxe but bringing its great horned head down to gore Aracynth in the back! The bull skull slams into Aracynth's mid-back, its horns finding his shoulder blades, and the Dragonborn takes 7 damage!
Tharin, just to your left you could sneak quickly into some tall grasses, hidden just enough from the fray (please roll stealth).

Fizzbang looked the arrow protruding from his leg. "Bugbear's bollocks." He cursed.

The great skeletal frame of the ancient war horse shudders as 2 force missiles slam into its skull, forcing it to its knees. The final catches it just behind the skull, on its animated spine, severing the connection and the eyes return once more to the lifeless holes without necromantic hate. The skeleton clatters to the ground and remains, unmoving. There is a barely audible whisper of a whinny as it goes down. In the back of your mind you feel relief that this creature is once again at rest.
Tharin, as far as you can tell, you are hidden!

As the skeletal frame of the horse fell away, a glimmer of hope bloomed for Aracynth. This skirmish hadn't fared well. Kynortas was down, his labored breath rasping beneath two of their remaining adversaries as he struggled against death's embrace. The Fighter needed his attention, but he couldn't leave their other foes unaddressed.
The falling mount had exposed the skeletal archer, and the Dragonborn saw an opportunity to turn the tide, the slightest chance avoid disaster at the hands of these skeletons. He seized at it in desperation; there was no other choice.
He moved, stepping south around the Minotaur, positioning the three remaining skeletons before him. Inhaling deeply, he drew upon his ancient Draconic heritage. Power surged through him; a primal, ferocious power that could wither and destroy most beings in an instant. He could only hope it would prove effective against the Undead. With his foes arrayed before him, Aracynth exhaled, and a cone of Frost erupted over the skeletons.
6 Cold Damage (CON DC 12, half)
He hoped to at least destroy the two smaller skeletons. The Minotaur, while taking the brunt of the blast from close range, seemed far too resilient to be defeated by such an attack. and Aracynth had only a moment to prepare before its next attack. The Paladin grabbed the platinum talisman around his neck, signing it through the divine passes as he invoked a prayer of protection for himself.
The blast of frigid mist from Aracynth coats the bones of the undead in a thin layer of ice. The two smaller skeletons rattle and crack, falling to pieces with a raspy hiss and clatter of brittle bone. Their eyes go black once again as the false life leaves them. In the back of your minds you swear you could hear a whispered 'yes' as they ease once again to death. (Good work!)
Kynortas' limp body is now coated in a thin layer of snow as well, despite the warm day and bright, setting sun.
The minotaur, however, simply heaves its greataxe and showers of icicles spray off it. Damaged, but mostly unperturbed.
Tharin, you're up and hidden from the minotaur, the only target left!

After shooting the arrow, without seeing if it landed, Tharin moves back toward the road, seeing if he can sneak around the back of the minotaur and try to haul Kynortas away from the fight to avoid further injury.
As an arrow flies above its massive head the undead minotaur swings its greataxe in a wide arc, a broad sweep of its area, but just as it reaches Aracynth a flash of divine light turns the blade toward the earth and the head of the axe is sent blade-first into the dirt. It crashes into the ground beside Aracynth as Bahamut's Shield turned the blade in a downward parry! Dirt flying up in a rain of confetti, the bull head glares at Aracynth with fiery eyes...

Even Fizzbang, pessimist though he was, had to admit this little disaster was turning around nicely. Granted, Kynortas was still spilling his vital fluids into the undergrowth, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few ribs.
Aracynth was grateful the shield had held against the minotaur's mighty blow. He could almost set himself to attack the undead monster, but not yet. One task remained first.
Maintaining his concentration, the Dragonborn edged his way around the minotaur, wary of both the horns and axe-head buried in the ground for the moment. When he reached Kynortas, he dropped to one knee, finally breaking eye contact with the skeletal beast.
Aracynth focused intently on keeping his Shield of Faith up, as he drew upon his extended healing magic and focused it in his hand. To say the effort was taxing was far too inadequate, and only his clear conscience and firm belief in the rightness of his actions kept the Paladin from collapsing instantly under the strain. He held out, to the limit of his endurance, and as his silver claw began emanating the pearlescent glow of magic, he pressed it to the side of the Human's body, forcing the healing power to mend the gash in Kynortas' side.
Lay on Hands : 10 HP
The magic suffused into the Fighter's body mending his wounds. The Soldier's eyes snapped open, and Aracynth grabbed ahold of his arm, pulling the Fighter to his feet as the Dragonborn rose.
His exhaustion bore down on him; a monumental weight trying to grind him into the ground. Aracynth quashed the feeling though, and focused once more on the menacing minotaur before them. With all four of them back in the fight, they might just be able to overwhelm this dauntless foe.
"Ow. That hurt." Kynortas blinked once. Blinked twice.
"I'm on the ground. Get up. GET UP. YOU ARE NOT DONE." He said to himself. He felt the dragonborn help him rise. He grabbed his shield, still felt his spear at his back. He stood on his own.
"Thank you my friend." Looking quickly around he sees the other three felled enemies. The minotaur alone in front of him. He charged forward. Still no flesh to puncture with a spear. Time to go to work.
The fire bolt collides against the minotaur's shoulder bone and seems to dissipate harmlessly, not even a blackened mark where it hit. It glares down at the dragonborn as he quickly heals Kynortas and then jolts when a fist slams into its exposed sternum! He is still standing tall, but the hit did crack loudly against the rib cage!

Tharin sees that Kynortas is standing again, but the wounds have taken their toll. He might be needed to drag one body or another into the forest on the side of the road. He hoped that being closer would offer him more opportunities to sneak in a few more shots that would bring down the beast. Though now it was flanked, surrounded by both muscles, magic, and Tharin's arrows. The odds seemed in their favor.
The undead minotaur, now beset by all 4 attackers, throws its arms up, yanking the huge greataxe head from the dirt where it was lodged. It throws its head back once more in a silent bellow and brings the axe down onto the paladin to pay him back for bringing Kynortas back from the brink!
The axe head swings wide, and the skeleton rattles with rage!
