Man, those are way too good. I’m fine doing a spread of 18, 17, 16, 13, 11, and 8 if that would be better. I’ll make a new post with my application shortly.
Character Class and Subclass: Sorcerer, Draconic Bloodline
Character Background: Noble
Detailed Backstory:
Jakus Galondel (Jak for short) is the first-born son of the Galondel family, and powerful noble family that carries the blood of the blue dragon in them. Jak, as the first born of his generation, received this power just as his elven father did. Jak’s brother, Adrian, was born shortly after.
While the two grew up, Adrian resented Jak for the attention his parents gave him. Jak, however, still loved his brother dearly and would stick up for him when Adrian and his father argued. Adrian didn’t see this love, and eventually ran away from the family.
Jakus, though he lived a life of comfort and pleasure, couldn’t get his brother out of his mind. One day, while listening to some servants gossip, he heard a rumor of where his brother had been seen. Jak left his family immediately, in search of his lost brother. Whenever he hears word about his brother being somewhere else, Jak leaves and goes to that location. He will never stop trying to find his brother and bring his back.
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Write this like how you would in the campaign:
“P-p-please sir, d-d-do you have any ch-change?” were the words Jakus heard as he stepped out of Dodgy Doggo’s Discount. As he looks to the left, he sees a dwarf, shivering in the cold street. “Oh, of course!” Jak replies as he pulls out a few gold from his pocket, handing it over. “You know what, here. Take this too,” he says as he takes off his coat and wraps it around the figure.
”Th-thanks kind sir,” the dwarf replies, tears forming in his eyes as he pulls the coat around his entire body. “No elf or half-elf has ever been this grateful to me before.” Jak nods, an understanding look in his eye. He sits down next to the figure, and they silently watch the stars for a moment.
Jak breaks the silence between them. “Hey, have you seen someone lately? A half-elf, with red hair and green eyes. Probably dressed in black. Might be a shady figure.” The dwarf next to him replied, “No, I haven’t. Sorry sir, I wish I could help you out.” Jak hangs his head. Of course, just as I arrive he’s gone. It’s like he doesn’t want me to find him, he thinks to himself. “No, it’s fine,” he replies. “I’d better be off. Thanks for keeping me company.” The dwarf nods, and Jak heads off into the night, wondering where his brother could have gone off to.
Optional: Dodgy Doggo’s Discount can be a magical store that is added to the game if you wish.
Detailed Backstory I have always wanted to create a character out of my favorite board game…so here is the link to his backstory…if you’d allow such an idea. Thanks for your consideration. https://slugfestgames.com/gerki-the-sneak/
Example Post of what your character would be doing right now. Write this like how you would in the campaign. At this moment Gerki is at the pub, causing some mischief gambling. What his opponents don’t know, is that while he appears to be losing, he is directing the conversation towards his true purpose. He is after a document, and these guards know where it is kept. With enough ale, and a few targeted questions Gerki will find the location of his next heist.
I’d feel unfair and way too powerful taking those scores, especially at third level and compared to the rest of the party. I would rather be closer to what the rest of the party is at instead of way more powerful than them.
You may add one trinket as well, not required. You can make up your own, or roll from the trinkets table which I believe is in the player's handbook. Here are some examples of trinkets. Trinkets have no value, and don't give you spells or abilities, but could be useful in specific situations.
A strange pink seed. Nobody knows what will grow if it's planted.
A pocket-sized photo of an elf. The elf in the photo can blink.
A candle that cannot be lit.
A whistle that makes laughing sounds when blown into.
A copper coin that always feels warm.
A handheld mirror that does not show the person holding it.
1) Roll dice. For warlocks, I believe it's a 1d8. But the DnD Beyond character sheet maker will roll for you I believe.
2) I'd say don't take the additional features.
3) The cities here are pretty large, but you may have more difficulty contacting other cities. Everyone knows Ice is spreading from the north, and some places in the north (although most cities are in the south) could be in a winter-like state soon.
1) Roll dice. For warlocks, I believe it's a 1d8. But the DnD Beyond character sheet maker will roll for you I believe.
I had just went with the automatic HP increase when I bumped my character up to Level 3. Should I go back and roll for the first two advances, or should I only worry about it moving forward?
Can we assign properties to our trinkets? I'm thinking that my mask could e.g. allow me to imitate people, or make them forget speaking to me if I wear it.

Should we stick to our starting equipment, or should we add anything to our inventory and/or gold in preparation for Monday?

A couple questions:
1) How are we doing hit points? Fixed, rolling hit die, etc?
2) Should I be using the additional warlock spells or eldritch versatility additional features for warlock?
3) Is there anything extra you think any of us should know about the world based on our backstories?
