Fungus’s face glows with glee eager to tell the tale “It begins with the fourteen oracles of old. Hundreds of years ago they stood as rulers over the kings of the world they stopped wars with reason and solved all problems with Wisdom, but this level of authority was over shadowed by an ability far greater. The fourteen together could see into the future. Their minds traveled through time guiding the world down the best path and bringing much prosperity. Though they would not live forever… near the end of their lives they decided they would look further than they had ever done before so they could one last time act as guides for their people. What they saw scared them. Eventually far enough in time, Time ended without reason or cause time just ceased to be. They drove themselves to find a way to prevent this all but the fourteenth member of their order that is he spoke against the others saying that they had tampered with the future for far too long and should let this be. He gave no explanation for this but was firm to it. The others continued anyway desperate to find a solution before they passed. Finally they had one merely twelve days before their death they knew except something unexpected happened despite their ability to see their own death one died before his time was to be up. The fourteenth had killed the first and intended to kill the rest as well but they departed before he had the chance splitting into the groups of four the remaining twelve hid away. Each taking a piece of time and weaving it into a robe. The robes were passed down from guardian to guardian so when the end of time would come the three heroes could stop the end. It’s as the prophecy says.
’There shall be three. The first will lead the way
like dusk before night and dawn before day.
He shall be Strong he Shall be meek
always ready to defend the weak
The second shall come soon after
like day he’ll shine with laughter
his past will become unknown his future will be bright
despite the loss he’ll always do what’s right
the third will not conform
for fate they have forlorned
But together they will stand up against the end
with time who is their friend
And they shall come bringing with them all time on
their backs renewing the clock so we shan’t parish’
that is the story and the prophecy which you are to fulfill” he finishes without taking a breath
Balen listened to the prophecy with all ears. That was... a lot to take in. Especially with his left ear ringing madly into his skull and the fact that half the day had basically vanished from his mind, he was frantic in taking down notes as this all happened. He could barely now recall how he had got here but the trio in front of him seemed like they were friendly enough (except for the sleeping guy anyway) and he wasn't being thrown out, so he assumed he wasn't in trouble and was now riding this trip along.
He realized he'd been too lost in his notes for a while, "Okay wow. Uh let me get this straight... oracles, murder, a time robe? And three heroes? That's, um wow, a lot to take in."
"And you think it's him?" He looked over at Tildrash, noticing the dragonborn's owlbear crest and regalia, "I think you're right honestly. But where do we find the other two?"
"I can help. I do got a few tricks up my sleeve. No fee required, just you owe me next time," He clicked his tongue and winked, "You got my business card."
Fungus who seems to be enjoying himself says “First we should get you your robe. I keep it back at my place,” he skips out of the room whistling a happy tune.
Balen cracks a smile as Fungus begins whistling, giving Tildrash a small shrug. He pauses for a second before realizing Tildrash was going to stay behind. "Oh," Balen looks at Tildrash and then at the door where Fungus has sauntered off, "I'm going to go follow him." He lingers for a minute then departs. He didn't want to stay where the weird man was on the bed and Fungus looked like he was old and wise to be trusted.
He had a bad feeling about all this, so he followed Fungus, feeling for some reason he might want some backup. Plus if that weird guy woke up, Tildrash looked strong enough to fend him off on his own. And he had that Flower-lady with him. She looked feisty enough to hold her own ground.
He skipped off, whistling the same tune as Fungus as to mock him. He also shifted into a replica of him, giving the older man a snide look, saying, "You sure know a lot of prophecies and such. What is this like your job or something?"
Fungus not the least bit put off by your imitation replies “I wouldn’t call it a job. The robe was passed down to my care but my fascination with prophecy is more of a hobby I didn’t expect this to be fulfilled in my lifetime. I am excited that it has!” He continues down further to the outskirts of the village away from the lake.
The changeling was a bit disappointed by the lack of response but kept at it. "Oh," he muttered, giving a little smile towards the end of it. Excited? That wasn't the word he'd use for the 'stopping the end of the world,' but sure. Whatever floats your raft, he thought. The ringing in his ears was irritating to say the least. To get his mind off it, as he followed, passing the lake where he had docked his canoe earlier, he picked up a large stick from the ground and twirled it around, "You know you should carry one of these. It'll complete the look, ay, Wizard-Guy."
He did a little grandiose pose with the stick still in Fungus's form. "Right, don't ya think?"
He fiddled the stick around with his hands. "Prophecies? Ancient relic? Isn't that a bit too far-fetched to believe?" Balen meet him the eye with genuine concern, "You really believe in this, don't you? Why?"
Fungus looks at you still walking he raises his brow at your stick “I think I’ll stick to my charms” he displays a necklace decorated with small bones carved runes on each. His pace quickens as he enters a small woodland. “To the narrow minded it might seem far fetched. Once you have seen the robe any doubt you may have will vanish that I can say for certain” his already wide grin somehow gets bigger at mention of the robe.
Tildrash looks at Dew “… But do you think that someone could actually stop the end of the world?”
She looks up from her feet and says “This is why I think prophecies are just a bunch of lies. I mean if those men could really see into the future why would they be so worried about the end couldn’t they see if their hero’s had saved it? Or why did it take them so long to figure out how to make their magic robes? Couldn’t they see the future of them making it? None of it makes any sense. If someone was going to stop the end of the world it wouldn’t be because of some made up oracles and their mythical clothing. It would be because they can and they want to” she sighs and looks at you “do you think you have to save it?”

Tildrash tilts his head a little bit, pondering her question for a while, then looks back at her
“Well, people may have warped the story over the centuries, which might explain why some of the story doesn’t add up. But nevertheless, I need to do whatever I can to protect the people I love, and if that means following a fairy tale that might not even be true, I’d rather risk it than fail them.”

"Pfft," He blows a raspberry at Fungus before jabbing the stick around in the air, "Okay." The necklace looked cool though he couldn't make out the runes. He wondered if they were from a small animal or something given the size of it. He kept twirling the stick around mindlessly as they walked, admiring the view.
That was until the 'narrow-minded' part. Balen growled, gripping the stick close. Rather than the leisurely pace he'd been keeping up with, he moved up right next Fungus, leering. "Hey don't call me narrow minded. I may be forgetful, but I'm not stupid." He was thinking of adding in some colorful language there but stopped because he was an elder. He looked off into the path ahead of them. "This robe of yours better be real."
Fungus surprised by your outburst stops and looks at you “oh I didn’t mean you specifically nor did I mean to imply that you were dumb or forgetful I’m sure you are not lacking in either. You see there are many intelligent beings that are narrow minded. I myself have known many such men. In fact there was one that could tell you exactly how old a tree was and the exact date and time it was planted just by measuring it height diameter and the average rainfall of where it was planted. But he didn’t believe that mice were real not until I showed him one. You don’t doubt the prophecy since you you are an idiot you don’t believe it because you require proof just like with the mouse. It is not a shortcoming easily overcome. To except truth simply because it is True it is a skill learned. Never fault yourself for not having a certain ability it is a waste of time better spent elsewhere.” He turns back to the path “I live just a few trees down from here. Won’t be long now,”

Tildrash notes down everything while Fungus speaks, paying close attention to his words.
“Wow… that was very interesting…”
”Is there anything we could use that might help us find the three?”
Fungus chuckles looking you in the eye “well it shouldn’t be that hard, seeing as I got at least one of them standing right in front of me”

Tildrash looks frightened for a second, blinks a little bit, then grounds himself back to realiity.
“… I serve for the people. What should I do first?”
Fungus who seems to be enjoying himself says “First we should get you your robe. I keep it back at my place,” he skips out of the room whistling a happy tune.
As Fungus departs, TIldrash sits down at one of the hospital beds and looks down at the floor, his smiles waivers at times, but he corrects it.
