Aubreen hoists his shield as the wolf stalks forward, his heart racing witnessing the drool dripping from slavering jaws. A look of hunger and evil intelligence gives him pause.
"Wolf, big, big wolf" He hollers, the sound echoing off the icy cavern walls. Slowly backing g up to plug the entrance and keep the wolf from slipping past him. (Not creating an AOO).
Aubreen drops the torch at his feet, the flame guttering and hissing g as it hits the ice. Using his now free hand he calls upon Torm "forfend" He barks the arcane words for shield of faith (bonus action)
His sword clears the scabbard, brandished before him, "I will not be your lunch beast" He keeps the weapon and shield up Dodging the inevitable attacks.
After the encounter with Sirius, Perrin is content to crawl over to the condoned campsite. He’s about halfway there when he hears shouting echoing from nearer the entrance. Was that Aubreen? Turning around, he moves towards the sound of his ally, curiosity fueling his steps.
As if waiting for a sign of weakness, the wolf jumps as Aubreen shouts for help. A loud snarl, mouth wide open, eyes hungry.

Perrin arrives at the scene, seeing that a large wolf is snapping at Aubreen. Sirius can spot this too when he looks back from his position. Marlede would not have heard the sound of fighting due to the howling winds here, but she definitely heard Aubreens shout.
Seeing the dire wolf attacking Aubreen, Sirius runs as fast as he can towards them. With his spear in the front, Sirius runs straight into the wolf. As the point makes contact with the wolf, it explodes, throwing fire all around and igniting the fur of the wolf. (Searing smite)

The wolf yelps as Sirius spear makes contact, it's fur sizzling, the magic taking hold. It's eyes are wide, crazed, but it stands its ground.
Round 2 Initiative: 1. Aubreen, Perrin, Marlede < YOUR TURN 2. Dire wolf 3. Sirius
Aubreen, Perrin, Sirius and the wolf are at pos and Marlede at pos 1. It's getting cramped there, but since Sirius and Aubreen can move to either side of the entrance and Perrin can move around on the ceiling, you don't get into each others way too much.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Perrin unworriedly crawls across the ceiling towards the exit, he sees a flash of flame and lupine yelp, and in that brief moment of illumination, he sees the massive wolf attacking Aubreen. The spike of panic he feels propels him forward at a mad dash, his many legs chittering across the stony roof. Realizing that it was crowded in that little tunnel, Perrin turns around and launches a thick net of webbing towards the raving wolf in hopes of tangling it up.
Web 19. On hit, the target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage).

Aubreen glances back and grins, with the comfort of his companions at his back he pushes forward. Perrins ability to become a spider was a feat he envied, and was glad was on his side. The Bird seemed to grow more comfortable in this form, terrifying as it was he smiled a thin crease for its help.
With the wolf wrapped in webbing he took the opening, thrusting with his longsword, driving it into the beasts snout, the blade scraping along the wolfs jaw line towards its neck. A second attack followed the first, still pushing forward he tried to keep the beast contained.
Longswrod attack: Attack: Attack: 12 Damage: 10
BA, Longsword attack if needed: Attack: Attack: 25 Damage: 14
The large wolf strains against the web, working muscles portruding through the lean coat of fur. It tries to snap at Aubreens sword, only succeeding in having a few teeth cracked, the blade traveling lower towards its destination. Steel finds its home, sinking into the neck. A mighty shudder goes through the animal. It slumps to the wet floor, a few last heaving breaths exiting the slit throat.
The wolf is dead. We're out of initiative.
The torch previously dropped by Aubreen hasn't gone out yet, the fight having taken but a few seconds. The hectic shadows thrown by the fight were projected along the corridor, somewhat visible to Marlede. Now she can see that the fast movements have stopped.
Aubreen cleans his blade upon the corpse of the fallen wolf. Sheathing the blade he retrieves the guttering torch and stalks forward. The closeness of his companions lends confidence to his stride as he moves towards #7, watching for any further beasts in the dark. The wind continues to howl past him, he peers into the passage. perception:22
Sirius watches as the now dead wolf burns on the ground. "I wonder if wolf meat is edible. It seems to be cooking already." He then follows Aubreen towards #7. "Perhaps we should be moving in pairs."
Hearing the trouble Marlede is having on the bridge, Sirius turns to look towards there but sees nothing. He yells back to her: "We're fine over here. How about yourself?"
*rolls her eyes* "I'm doing fine! But like I said, there's a trail we can follow over here!"
If she hasn't reached the path yet, she's still crawling on the ice. She seriously contemplates going ahead by herself, but if Aubreen got attacked by a big ol' wolf, then what's to say she won't get ambushed by the whole pack? So she controls her impulsiveness and readies her Longbow and Arrow as she looks towards the staircase once she gets there.
Aubreen finds the third cave exit around a corner and an additional room. This cave has ancient, stick-figure drawings carved into its northern wall.
Sirius [History prof.]: Figure drawings like this are found all over the known world, usually left by ancient civilizations.
On a history check of 15:
You can interpret the carvings, which show frost giants wading up a river to a cavern that contains a hot spring, in which they drown themselves.
Lower down, Marlede hears shuffling footsteps approaching her location from the direction of the stairs. At the edge of her darkvision, an old woman has appeared. The elderly human has drooping skin and whispy white hair that blows every which way. Her lips are moving, as if saying something, but it's too quiet under the constant moaning of the wind do make out.
The old woman steps forward more, looking at Marlede skeptically. Marlede [Insight 15+], not just skeptically, this woman seems to be angry with her and trying to hide that fact. She has never seen her before.
"Now what is all of this ruckus all of a sudden? Too much shouting is bound to bring ice down on all our heads. Girl, speak up, what's your name and what are you doing here?"
*sighs* Druid or not, this creepy old crone is suspicious.
"You needn't worry about my name. Tell me, what do you know about the missing people that've obviously gone through here, ma'am?"
She says the last part with a sarcastic tone. Her instincts are telling her to shoot, but she promised herself not to be impulsive.
As a bonus action, Marlede eyes the old woman up and down, like a predator sizing up her prey. [ Bonus action Slayer's Prey mark on her. ] As her action she will ready her longbow to shoot an arrow at this old woman if she does something aggressive, retreats, or if Marlede perceives deception from whatever she says next.
Sirius inspects the carvings and marks their spot on the map. "I wonder if anyone else has found these carvings before. I really hope these frost giants are things of legends, I'm really not in the mood to deal with giants." Seeing the third cave exit, Sirius turns back and begins to walk back towards the bridge. On the way there, he does a quick prayer to the Triad and heals himself closing the wounds on his face. If we're going to have to fight giants, I'd better be at my full potential.
((OOC: Is the frozen stream flowing toward the lake or the other way around? Which way around is the waterfall?))

With the wolf taken care of, Perrin chitters in a satisfactory way before turning around and heading back the way he came. Instead of going to the room on the other side of the stone bridge, he instead moves along to follow the frozen river upstream. However, he comes to a halt when he notices Merle’s in conversation with some ancient looking woman. He pauses, hoping that the woman hasn’t noticed him on the ceiling. He backs up a few steps slowly and moves from the ceiling down onto the bridge. From there he stealthily moves to be on the side of the stone bridge opposite of Marlede and the woman, moving slowly to hopefully get in a good ambushing position if needed.

Aubreen joins Sirius at the bridge, glancing about to place his companions, 'Need a hand down Sirius? I can help lower you so you can hang drop?" He asks of the Paladin. Lowering himself to his knees he begins to crawl across the spans icy surface, turning at the spoken words of Marlede, "Who you talking to, I cant hear a word your saying in this cold blasted wind. Did you find the Fishers?" he yells out, making his way towards the barely visible camp in the chamber across.
Aubreen will make his way across the bridge towards the camp at #3, more concerned with remaining atop the span without slipping than he is with silence or caution. Once there he will inspect the chamber, tossing the bed and kicking at the fire or anything else that catches his attention. Doing so unless called for by his companions. "Torm, reveal to me what is within mine eye" He whispers a prayer of guidance.
Sirius: The frozen stream emerges from within the cave complex and exits in the direction of the lake. The waterfalls direction reflects that, flowing down from Marledes elevation.
Aubreen tries crossing the slick bridge [athletics 22] and does so with great dexterity, managing without any handholds and boots not made for it. At the abandoned camp, he finds no mortal remains or evidence of recent occupation. As he steps over to toss the sleeping bag (which behaves like a solid sheet of ice due to being frozen stiff), he hears a crunch beneath his boots. There are some papers scattered on the ground and covered with snow. They're half-burned, missing large sections and the writing is in dwarvish.
The old woman sucks in air through her missing teeth in exasperation upon Marledes remarks. "Where do you young people get off being rude like that?"
She turns around and points in the direction of the stairs, where Marlede saw the footprints. "They're all here. Smelled my cooking and came right in. Starved they were, poor sods. Starved, but nowhere as bad-mannered!"
A smile appears on the old face, like a horizontal curtain opening. "But I am a gracious host. You're welcome to join them."
Marlede [Insight 25]: There is no lie to be heard, but the old woman is obviously leaving something out. The last sentence sounds like a threat. There is a twitch in the gnarled hands, as if the crone is trying to suppress an involuntary movement. Somethin's wrong with her body language too, as if she is stooping on purpose rather than through the pains of old age. Her eyes are staring, unblinking.
Perrin can be fairly confident that the old woman hasn't noticed him yet, as she is focused on Marlede. The shout by Aubreen is also ignored, despite it being loud enough for Marlede to hear.

Marlede was trying to climb up to the bridge and falls face-first into the ice beneath her. [ Nat 1 Acrobatics]
*clicks her tongue* "Awesome..."
She flips over to lay down facing upwards at the bridge and raises her voice. Not really shouting, but she sounds annoyed.
"I hope none of you got eaten because I just found the fisher's trail again."
She's gonna drag herself back to the eastern corridor where she saw the odd 'natural' stairway.
