(OOC: The Firebolt isn't this turn, correct? Right now you're just bobbing in the water?)
You just barely manage to keep Freytha above water, her limp, waterlogged body heavy in your hands. With a few more gasps of air, your eyes begin to focus and you regain some strength.
Saferetan?

You cut off what appears to be a part of the water weird, but because it's water, you can't really tell as it reforms while you dash to the side. Suddenly, the water around Kuuraht surges up as the weird throws you through the air, and you and Freytha land on a large mangrove, taking 8 bludgeoning damage.
(OOC: Luckily, you land on the shore. I believe Matthyse is up?)
Yes! Run to safety, my friends! [ Matthÿse's inner thoughts after seeing Kuuraht and Saferetan at a distance from the Water Weird. ]
"Calanin, you may run to safety as well! I will try to hold it off!", he says telepathically. Then, he brings down the hammer twice at the elemental's 'body'.
First attack is a 9 to hit with 11 points of bludgeoning damage.
Second attack is a 21 to hit with 10 points of damage. [ Using his War Priest feature to attack as a bonus action. ]
[ OOC: If I understand correctly, Kuuraht was blown away with Freytha to the shore, and Saferetan managed to make some distance between him and the Water Weird, right? Then only Calanin and Matthÿse are in melee. ]

[OoC: Really, if you think about it, it's not the best plan. The one guy who can't see in the dark is trying to play decoy so the three who can see just fine and have more options can "get away." Meanwhile, Matthÿse is swingin' away at the elemental, hearing his hammer connect with every splash. And the three of us are nearby, embarrassed, watching as he smacks the shoreline. Meanwhile, the Weird's off to the right, just as embarrassed as we are.]
[ OOC: It should have been Calanin's turn, not mine. So he should go next. As for Matthÿse flailing at inanimate water, I would cringe from the embarrassment if that were the case. I had assumed Dancing Lights was still in effect. But if that's gone, then he would be in dim light or darkness. ]

[OoC: Dancing Lghts stays in range of me, only gives dim light, and lasts a minute. It would've gone out in 1 or two turns, assuming we hadn't moved out of range.]

OoC: I moved away from everyone else, not really the water weird. I am playing a decoy of sorts as well. Also a spell with a duration of one minute lasts around 10 turns in combat.

Both attacks hit, and the weird cries out as you slash it, reducing its size greatly as water slops off of it. (OOC: I'm assuming Matthyse [next in initiative] is going to take the turn described earlier?)

I'm quick to recover, though I do nothing to leave the mangrove. My back aches badly, but the False Life definitely came in handy. And besides, with our intrepid guide out of immediate danger, I'm free to join the fight myself. I focus on the elemental, and hold out my hand. My fingers spark and smolder as I aim carefully past my allies. Before uttering the vocal incantation, I give a simple warning, "Clear!" A bolt of flame springs from my palm when I then shout, "Immolta!" Here's hoping the cleric has the sense to stand clear.
Swinging his hammer around, Matthyse misses the weird as it ducks underwater, but hits it again when it comes back up, thinking it’s safe just as a hammer and a Firebolt collide with it. It’s not dead yet, but looks like it’s severely injured.

[OoC: Correct, but only if someone gives me a free hand by taking Freytha back to shore. Otherwise, disregard it.]
I [Tooltip Not Found], Expeditious Retreat in fact. As a bonus actions
As my action, I slash the water weird with my scimitar. Hit: 14 (7 + 4) + bless: 3) Damage: 6
I then step to the side a bit to get farther away from the other people, I wouldn't want us all to be hit with an AOE attack.
