OOC: I wrote this last night, but missed posting it.
Rico looks at what he brought and answers, "That is just what I need to fix your sword. Thank you for fetching it."
OOC: And a new comment...
She then added, "If we run low on arrows, I might be able to make some from the pike."
OOC: Rico also has woodworking, I was thinking she might be able to make a few arrows shafts from the Pike shaft, and arrowheads from the pike head using her smithing tools. Would need to improvise for the fletching.
DM: Crafting arrows has a basis in Xanathars already, so you can refer to that. I'm not requiring metal to be used in the process, unless you want to make some kind of fancy arrows.

OOC: Fletching? Hmm, don't we have a kenku with us??? LOL!!!
So that answers the question of how fast she can make them wot enough wood. The other question is how many arrows can be made from the wood part of a pike.
In any case, seems like Rico is going to be busy during rest periods...
Rico, if you want a baseline wood resource, you can list that in your inventory as a "common branch". Most weapons that have a wooden haft, be it handaxe or pike, can be broken down into 1 of this resource (and others, depening on the weapon, such as the metal scraps that Pisgah brought back from the armory). Let me know what you break down and I can list them, if requested.
Half of 1 common branch can be used to create 5 arrows.
As a general note , I have a pretty extensive (but optional) system in the background I use for crafting, so feel free to experiment with stuff you find.
Time: Anyone that is using a torch, please cross off another use.
Your trip back to the bandits is uneventful, since it has barely been 2 hours since you passed through. One of Harrias thugs makes way for you to enter. The rooms you have already been in are unchanged, including the room with the three statues that you had your first fight in.
As the torch he is holding starts to burn out, Steel takes out another torch from his backback and lights it before the previous torch burns out completely.
OOC: Glad that you have crafting rules, since Rico is a crafting character :-) So 10 arrows total out a pike. That will keep the archer equipped for a while. When she has time...
Specifically, fletching is the feather part of an arrow. So the suggestion is to use Kenku feathers. I though our Kenku would not be happy with that idea however...
In the cystal wyvern skeleton room, Harria is to be seen out of her room, discussing something with another gang member. She eyes you warily as you approach or move by, but the "vampires" respect the password well enough.
"Yes, let me get a about 15 feet ahead of the group and I will peek down the southern passage. I should be able to pick up anything up to 60 feet out." Pisgah slips down to the corner and peers around. Perception roll of 6 (nat 1) to look and see if anything is in the corridor.
Pisgah sees that the corridor continues on for a long while in a westward direction after the crossing. Looking down the corridor to the south, it seems like it eventually ends up in a sizeable room with stairs descending 10 feet, lined with pillars. There is another corridor going east halfway down the southward corridor. (DM: Pisgah can't see the door yet, but it's included for convenciences sake. Same goes for the slightly farther than theoretically appropriate darkvision radius).
Even though Pisgah has gotten quite a bit of dust in his eyes and has trouble seeing straight, he can't fail to notice a bugbear ducking behind one of the pillars. The bugbear doesn't seem to have noticed you yet, as it seems to be looking east.
Pisgah will step back around the corner with the rest of the group. He reports, in a whisper, that there is a bugbear just inside the entry of a hallway and the end of the corridor and down a set of steps. The bugbear could just barely be seen so a shot from here would be difficult. Pisgah tells them about the hallway going off to the east about 20 feet down the corridor. If everyone agrees, Pisgah will try to sneak down to that corridor to get a line on the bugbear and throw two javelins.
"The vampire lady told us that the Xanathar's guild on this level was made up of Bugbears and Goblins. This could be one of them. Perhaps we should try conversing first, lest we make an enemy of the guild?" Jaya asks.
"Okay, does anyone speak Goblin? What are we going to say to a bugbear in the middle of a dungeon?
Oliver always said the only good goblin is a dead goblin. Bugbears are just bigger, meaner, and sneaker goblins. I'll stay back here ready to come help when all goes pear shaped."
OOC: the more I thought about Pisgah's backstory and how it should interact with goblin kin, I decided I should edit the post before anyone else went.

"Well, with the gang back together again, let's go talk to Harria about other exits from this section and then check out that corridor leading west."

OoC: Did you think they said Fledgling? 'Cause fletching is just arrow crafting.

So west till we can look down the passage to the south?

Rico and Steel take up their position in the rear, guarding from an attack from the vampire bandits, unlikely as that may be.

Stealth roll of 13
Canti offers back in a whisper, "Do we know the bugbear is a danger to us?" She shrugs. "We could try talking to it."

Canti shrugs again, shaking her head a little.
How about we tell him that we are looking for a route to the lower levels and have no interest in a confrontation with him or his group?
