'A native?' Friedrych asks upon seeing Akaas and Crispy returning. 'One of the lizardfolk, you mean? They can be reasoned with, no?'
He turns his thoughts toward Luthollal. 'Guess you're on lookout duty, Lulu. If we do get attacked, I want to at least know what we're in for.' 'Got it!'
Luthollal once more flies up above the wagon invisibly to act as a sentry and give warning of anything or anyone approaching the wagon/group.
Mr. Migello gets the cart to move again, at a more wary pace than it was travelling before. The frog man seems to have retreated for the time being, but that thought of it perhaps following is on everyone's mind.
(If people want to be on lookout, they can make a Perception check. If people want to keep the trail clear and safe, they can go with a Survival)
Wow, a nat1. Crispy is caught leaning against the wagon, looking crosseyed and about to fall asleep. She almost falls off the cart but startles awake, fuzzy and unfocused.
Akaas keeps to the front, keeping an eye for the path ahead. He manages to look out for the sink holes in the path, so the cart can manoeuvre around them. He notes there are old tracks for those frog people, more pointed reptillian feet, crawling creatures, and even sees an old print of some large beast.
The others are keeping on lookout in this swampland. There is a lot of bog and foliage around, so there is too many spots to keep an eye on. There is then a sudden cacophany of croaks that echo around the cart, like a powerful blast of frogsong.
Everyone: please make a DC 12 Constitution Saving Throw with disadvantage, taking 7 thunder damage and deafened for 1 minute on a failure, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Leaping out around the cart appear eight of these frog-people with brown and dark green marks to their skin. the frogs all have a [weapon]spear[/weapon] and shield prepared and half of them appear to have a few [weapon]javelin[/weapon]s. To the front of the cart, near where Akaas is tracking, leaps out an enormous toad with black spines, being ridden by another frog man with a [weapon]shortsword[/weapon] raised up, its blade aflame.
Scenario: The bullywug leader, atop his giant toad (which is about 12 feet tall) is about 20 feet in front of the cart, Akaas at the 10 foot mark centered between them. On each side of the cart are four bullywugs, about 10 feet away from the cart and the party members on the sides. The back is free of any initial threat.
OOC: - Not to rain on her parade but initiative is a DEX ability check so Crispy should be rolling that with disadvantage as well. - Luthollal is a familiar so she gets an initiative roll as well as mentioned in the Find Familiar spell. Or is that too much hassle and Friedrych and Luthollal take turns together? - Did you reroll Friedrych's initiative roll against the Toad to see who goes first or do PC's always go first in ties for convenience sake? (so I know these for future reference)
Also: yay combat! ^^ I'll make the CON saving throw in my post when Friedrych's turn comes up.
Eh, I'm a DM myself so it's hard for me to not notice such things and details. Of course, pokepaladdy is the DM of this campaign so whatever he says, I'll go with it.
And one level of exhaustion only gives you disadvantage on ability checks. :) Disadvantage on saving throws (and attacks) is three levels. Not that it would have mattered with a 6 but still good to know.

Let's forget it for that and give Cripsy a break, she's rolled enough nat 1s recently so a bit of nice karma would help.
A saving throw is if you are at level 3 exhaustion. I'll add the exhaustion table below as a reminder, so at least CON save that wasn't a crit fail technically.
We'll have familiars work on the same initiative block as the PC. You can choose who goes first out of the two of you, since you have that empathic link to work together.
You rolled the same, so I went off who had the higher Dexterity score. You won that, so go before it.
You may want to roll the CON saving throw early. Knowing if you're deafened and damaged may influence other people's actions (like if people want to run around with healing or shout things to help others etc.)
Also, not sure if I've done an initiative with you in it before. We generally go through initiative as Party members before the next DM-controlled person can post in any order. So in this case, Crispy and and Finlan post in either order. If they don't post in 24-hours, I'll do an appropriate turn for them, choosing to preserve resources unless it seems like a purely advantageous scenario, then move on. I'll also try and keep track of damage, conditions, and current party HP with updated initiatives in my posts.
First initiative roll with this group so thanks for the clarification on how certain things work here ^^
Con saves: Friedrych - 12 Luthollal - 16
Looks like they plugged their ears just in the nick of time. I'm keeping track of Luthollal's HP and other conditions on my character sheet. I'll take the standard 10hp for Lulu as her starting hp.
Crispy shrieks in surprise as the noise rattles her brain in her skull. That was enough to unleash the beast within, and she was instantly awake and alert, growling and nearly foaming at the mouth in a feral attack pose. I attack the nearest Bullywug closest to me and Finlan, since him and I are up.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Akaas, Borg, Friedrych, and Luthollal manage to cover their ears and reduce the impact of the blast of sonic energy, taking only 3 thunder damage.
Chetin feels the force full whack as his ears suddenly pop and the ringing conitnues, hearing nothing else but seeing the frog men seemingly shouting silently, taking 7 thunder damage, and deafened for 1 minute.
Crispy, getting the ringing noise from the blast, messes with her already fuzzy head from the long night, taking 7 thunder damage, and deafened for 1 minute. Even with the ringing in her ears, she keeps her sights on the frog person ahead, and savagely lunges at the poor foe, landing her dagger into its head and twisting as it lets out a (silent for Crispy) cry before it finally croaks. Yes, I can hear your groaning as you read that.

”Frog people.” Crispy said as she stood by the side of the cart, scanning the landscape, her hand on her blade hilts. “Stay sharp. Let’s move.”
Mr. Migello gets the cart to move again, at a more wary pace than it was travelling before. The frog man seems to have retreated for the time being, but that thought of it perhaps following is on everyone's mind.

Akaas again moves ahead of the cart, his staff back in his hand, but using it in a way to make it seem more like a walking stick than a weapon.
