(What, beyond looking at Friedrych's Guide to Taverns? :-p )
There appears to be a couple of other places of interest, a general store appears to be nearby, as well as a baker's and a blacksmith's. You haven't seen a temple.
Friedrych's Guide to Taverns will be updated momentarily. ^^
No temple? Then let's try...
Friedrych turns his head when his sense of smell is assaulted by something that smells warm and sweet. 'What's that?' He wonders out loud before spotting Lulu lazily drifting towards the source, seemingly intoxicated by the fragrance. Quickly catching up to her, it seems that the two of them have been lured by the sweet, sweet smell of baked goods as they find themselves outside of the town's bakery. As they push open the door, they are woken by their trance by the pleasant sound of a bell jingling above the door.
Chetin will head to the blacksmith, "I'm going to get a few more bolts for my crossbow and see if the blacksmith knows anything about the sword I still have. Would you like to come along Borg?"
Headed over to the bakery, the door chimes as Friedrych and Akaas make their way in. There is a tray half-filled with loaves and pastries baked that morning, now cool but still letting off a welcoming aroma. Rushing back into the room is a middle aged human woman, quickly wiping her hands on her apron as she gives the pair a smile. "Oh, welcome!" She says with a slight bit of surprise. "You just arrived?"
The Blacksmith
Chetin makes his way over to the sound of a hammer striking metal on an anvil. Wandering in there are a pair, a surly dwarf woman and a teen human boy, standing by the forge. The dwarf woman appears to be instructing the lad on the manner of shaping the steel as she turns the metal and strikes it again, apparently working on some sort of tool.
The woman chuckles, seeing the tell signs of Akaas' body language. "Well, sir, we've still got some fresh bread and other goods for today. They're not piping hot right now, but we can warm them in the oven for a couple of minutes if you'd like."
There is another CLANG of the hammer against the molten metal. "Aye, ye could say that." The dwarf woman says. CLANG. The human lad backs away slightly so they can talk a little more face to face. "Are ye after anything in particular?" She asks. CLANG. The metal is turned over. CLANG.

'We're new in town, yes.' Friedrych replies as he repeatedly pulls Lulu back by her ankles to keep her from plunging headfirst into a pastry. 'Do you have something like a local speciality?'
CLANG goes the hammer again. "Crossbow bolts we can do." The dwarf responds. CLANG."We have hunters that use 'em. It's a gold for a case." She nods as CLANG the apprentice moves off to go and collect the bolts. CLANG."As for spells, I'm not a mage." She comments.
The Bakery
"Well, travellers, we have a really good apple tarts if you're interested." The baker smiles to them. "Perfectly grown green apples from the local orchard, finest ones in the region, I'd wager, and only five copper a tart. Can't say much better than that, can you? We've got a dozen left, if you're interested."
Akaas withdraws his purse and begins counting coins. "I'll take the dozen," he says happily. He holds a halfling hand out, the six silver gleaming within.
(Hey all, finally back from visiting people etc. and got reliable internet again. Will be posting sporadically until about Monday/Tuesday.)
The Bakery
"Oh, I'll do you 'em all for a five silver." The lady says, collecting the tarts together and bundling them into some brown paper to tie with string.
The Blacksmith
CLANG goes the hammer again. "A gold, as I mentioned." The dwarf comments. CLANG."Bundle, quarrel, case, call it what you want, there's twenty for a gold."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Apologies for the absence: holidays happened.
Friedrych buys two apple tarts and hands over a single silver piece to the baker. He and Lulu happily munch on their own as they make their way back to the inn to make reservations for the night.
Time for the customary History on inns check: 20 (a very average roll, it seems)
Akaas counts out the five silver into the woman's palm, then holds up the sixth and gives her a bright smile. "Our Lady of Silver has seen fit to bless me these days with more coin than I know what to do with," he says, placing the sixth coin in her palm. "I am glad to pay all six." He holds one tart under his nose and breathes deeply, making yum noises.

Akaas enters and sits as instructed.
Is there anything else to do in town other than heading straight for the tavern?

There wouldn't happen to be a temple of Selune in this town, would there?

Akaas follows Friedrych and Lulu, his nose drawing him along as well.
Chetin will head to the blacksmith, "I'm going to get a few more bolts for my crossbow and see if the blacksmith knows anything about the sword I still have. Would you like to come along Borg?"

Akaas eyes the pastries. The old halfling puts a hand on his stomach, afraid a rumble might embarrass him.

"Just a few bolts for my crossbow. And was wondering if you could see if this sword is magical or not." He takes out the sword in question.
