Asbestos had squeezed Lace even tighter in return, though it wasn't by much; his strength felt like wrestling with a stuffed bear.
"The Slimer, yes..." Asbestos gulps down his words, trying to remember to tone down his vocal tic. He makes another random gulping sound before remembering again. He shifts his skin to a more human-ly color ('why would a changeling just be out in the open like this?') just like the one Fyn had been wearing the night of the burial. "Is he here?" 'Yes' his mind filled in the pause afterwards.
"He knows we are coming."
He puffs up his chest like he knows what he is doing.

After Smithy is doen tidying up Biscotti's office (I assume nothing new was to be found with the number of times we have been there?^^) he joins Fist
"So what do you want to do, my plan was to visit a library or two, but I suppose you got other plans?"
"Naw, bo-- I mean, nae ser." The big man curls his lips into a genuine, yet somehow sour grin. "We'll follow yer lead fer th' momen', but I ken to think o' a few boys migh' ave an ear to the groun' about th' Daggers. Figured we could scrounge up wha' yer plannin', then talk to a few sellswords I know of la'er. Aye?"
Steelclaw stepped through the door, nodding curtly to Luck. His eyes, sharp and assessing, took in the familiar surroundings of the safehouse. The air was thick with a tense energy that felt foreign even in a place accustomed to the secretive comings and goings of the Night Ravens.
“Long time, indeed,” he murmured, voice low and gravelly. “Too long, some might say.” He glanced briefly at the blue tiefling who peeked out, scanning the alleyway with a paranoid flick of his eyes. The new addition’s skittishness did little to alleviate Steelclaw’s caution.
“You expecting trouble?” he asked pointedly, his gaze shifting back to Luck. But before the doorman could respond, Steelclaw continued. “I’m looking for a place—‘Green Slime for Sale.’ Need to finish up some business Biscotti had with it.”
He paused, letting the weight of Biscotti’s name hang in the air like a lingering ghost. The Tabaxi’s ears twitched slightly as the tiefling glanced his way. Steelclaw’s tail lashed once before stilling, the only outward sign of his tightly coiled temper. “So, are you able to tell me what you know—or point me in the right direction?”
The library is quiet, which isn't unusual for a library, but this is due more to almost no one being there. Other than a lone librarian and an old man sitting in the corner reading it is practically deserted.

Ha!" he nods to the tiefling in that familiar way people do to let others know everything's ok. "Green Slime for Sale. Yeah, last I heard he's down by the docks across from where that ship was before they put it in drydock. Guess he figures now that the excitement has died down there's no reason for the watch to patrol there for a while."

The old librarian waddles of with babysteps due to his many years and the toll they've taken on his withered form. He is hunched over but regardless has a short stature. He guides you to a long table and goes to retrieve some books. After putting a stack on your right, he quickly returns with an even larger stack for your left, and finally returns a third time with the biggest stack yet. This one is wibbling and wobbling as he approaches but it doesn't fall down. At least not until he gets to the table and then the books at the top begin to slide off one by one as a warning of the avalanche of texts about to descend upon thee.

You barge your way past the open doorway and enter the smoke den. There is a haze hanging in the air so thick that that the room is considered to be lightly obscured. What you can see around the edges and leaning or sitting with their backs to the walls are a number of common to poor looking people just relaxing from whatever they just smoked. The only person present with the closest likeness to a gnome happens to be a pudgy halfling, with a round little belly, no doubt attained by always having seconds and even thirds during each mealtime and having snacks besides. Indeed, even as you searched the room with your eyes to see who was present the halfling went about finishing off a half eaten meat pie he had in one hand.

Smithy makes sure he isn't hit by a book before setting them up in stacks again. While he first of all has a look at all titles; which of them sounds the most promising?

Steelclaw just looks at Nate a nods it was good to know there was no association being made about the docks yet "Before we leave, you got anything for sale or need any jobs done that we can help out with?"
Asbestos, involuntarily drowning out Lace's cries, sees the meat pie in the little halfling's hand and sniffs it. Carefully ((Sleight of hand: nat 20 + 3 )), he unwraps the guy's fingers from it and takes a huge bite. Unfortunately, he drops half of the half-eaten pie onto the halfling's stomach because he didn't actually use his own hands to hold it and just ate it from the guy's open palm when gravity did what came next. He tries again to grab the leftover pie ((Sleight of hand: 5 + 3 =8)).
