In response to Krikas, Rusty replies in his usual monotone, "I d-d-d-do feel pain. It may-may-may-may not be in the same way that you feel pain, b-b-b-but to know that, you would need to walk a mile i-i-i-in my creek paddle. As for-for-for-for whether I am a 'person', that depends o-o-o-on your definition of the word." His big head swivels toward the half-elf. "While I-I-I-I do feel pain, I do not get offended."
Rusty pauses as the others pause. "Do w-w-w-we know that the orcs pose a threat? Perha-ha-ha-haps they are in need of assistance." He turns to peer back down the way that they've come, making note of the easy-to-follow path they are leaving, and looking for the afore-mentioned handful of followers.
"Never heard'a orcs askin' fer help from random strangers on the road. But I s'pose anythin's possible. If we set an ambush, we can try and learn their intent a'fore we smack'em!"

The day plods on as Krikas and Rusty struggle to put one foot in front of the other. The Orcs never get any closer than a mile or two back and eventually break off before sunset. It is with great relief that 'The Hearth' comes into sight. Just atop a small hill over looking the crossroads of The trade Way and The Triboar Trail. Still an hour before sunset the sky is streaked with red the color of blood. The light reflects off the snow covered hills and flatlands.
Dried timber has been left behind by a previous party and before Felmar can even get it lit the Half-elf is gently snoring, the construct settling into a motionless position with the whoosh and click of inner workings settling to silence. Indefatigable the Dwarf keeps watch long into the night, waiting for the Orcs to show themselves and their nefarious intent. As Orcs are always want to do, but it never happens. The night passes uneventfully, eventually the others wake and take the watch as Felmar settles into a fretful sleep, interrupted by dreams.
Felmar
Felmars dreams start off nice, comforting, reminiscence of his past before taking a turn for the worst. His Uncle stands over his father, a dagger stained with blood is quickly wiped and sheathed before he leaves by the back door. He reappears from the front with a handful of 'Axe' as Felmar enters to witness his fathers fate.
He finds himself walking a trail, could be any trail, the landscape shifts and twists with surreal colors and shapes. The hills pull, stretching before tearing off and floating like blobs of earth into the sky. A large Eye blinks from a passing cloud as he is left shaken.
Felmar awakes with a start the next morning, an itch at the back of his mind, a feeling he is being watched. Only his new companions are visible any where near and little cover is offered for someone hiding.
The next morning, with no reason to delay and still a days journey from Phandalin, the group heads down the Triboar trail. After a little more than two hours, the temperature dropping with every step, a stiff wind kicks up, blowing loose snow across the fields it obscures the sound more than your sight. The world settles into an eerie silence.
Turning a hill, you hear a discontented moo from atop the hill. An Oxen tugs at its lead, caught in the branches of the shrub at its feet, then gives in and tears a chunk of long grass to chew on. An overturned cart lies in the middle of the road, smashed crates and barrels, their contents spewed in a chaotic spray. 4 Goblins stand up from scavenging and pilfering the goods to stand agape at your approach.
The largest of the four snaps "Mine, I found, I keep", another gaining confidence quips, "Ya we no share, mine and mine and mine" he says pointing at the other three. The forth goblin, a rail thin runt shifts closer to the shrub it stands next to. It tries to whisper to the others but it can be heard clearly, in goblin. The first goblin to speak turns slightly, "What others?" listens to the runt reply then says, "oh ya" He turns back to your group "And now your stuff mine too, or we call in the others and eat you, as well."
Wren
The runt appears to be the brains of the operation, he shifts back, taking cover then whispers to his group in Goblin "They will take your stuff, the dwarf, he hates you, he wants to see you all die." a short pause as he gets the other three goblins attention, "Tell them you take their stuff or other goblins will come and eat them" At the large goblins short reply, a mischievous grin reveals his teeth.
The two purple dots are Oxen, munching on the grass and their own cud. The rectangle is the fallen and tipped cart.
The red dots are the 4 Goblins You are the yellow dots
Felmar wakes from his dream with a start, barely stifling a scream. His mind is racing as he tries to catch his breath. “No, it can’t be true! He couldn’t, he wouldn’t! I know they didn't always get along, but this?? If it’s true, then why did he help me? And what was with that eye?? None of this makes any sense!” Felmar composes himself before his companions awaken.
Once the rest of the group awakens they set off on the next ledge of their journey. Felmar is quiet throughout the journey, offering little more than grunts whenever someone speaks to him. When they come upon the scene with the goblins, Felmar’s hands begin to shake. Before him he sees the perfect outlet for his rage and frustration. He is barely able to stop himself from attacking. Then he heard the threats from the goblins. “That’s all I needed to hear,” he said out loud. He is going to charge the nearest goblin with an almost primal roar, Squelch leading the way

Felmar doesn't hesitate, doesn't wait for discourse, no negotiations, no fear, just rage he charges forth. Squelch already in his hand, always in his hand he charges the closest goblin, the silent one, and hammers the poor creature into the ground, a spray of blood and a twitching body stating the end to its miserable existence. The first goblin dies before anybody else is able to react, undeterred the other goblins pull short blades from thin bands of leather and charge. Rusty wasn't sure what to make of the situation. Clearly, something was awry. Why was the wagon overturned? Where were the travelers? Where the goblins responsible? Rusty wasn't going to jump to conclusions. A few questions begin to ready themselves when the goblins suddenly make a threat. Clearly, a confrontation is upon them.

Krikas
Felmars surge towards the goblins takes the half elf by surprise. The noise his hammer makes when it strikes the goblin does not though. Krikas had heard Felmars talk very fondly of his hammer and now it was evident why. "Haa! Well struck Felmar!"
Taking his chance whilst the goblins were staring at their now flattened friend, Krikas darts to the back of the rock (the one between the bush and the wagon). As he moves he cocks a bolt in his crossbow and fires when he reaches the rock.
OOC: Ha! Actually, I pulled up this post a couple of hours before I posted and forgot to refresh when I returned to my computer to see if anyone else had posted.
Rusty lumbers toward the next nearest goblin (I think they're all more than 30 feet away). The death of the first goblin seems unfortunate, but Felmar has a right to his own choices, and it's not like the goblins hadn't just threatened them all. He lifts his heavy hands, forming fists before his face as he addresses the remaining creatures: "Ans-s-s-swer our questions peaceably, and no one e-e-e-else needs to get hurt."
Ready action: If a goblin comes within melee range in a violence, Rusty will attack (in spoiler).
The utterance of a threat wasn't even fully past the lips of the large goblin before Felmar charges and drives the silent one into the ground. Krikas easily glides across the open expanse, ducking behind a large outcropping and letting a bolt loose, It impacts with the smaller of the two, knocking it back and off its feet were it lays groaning feebly in short lived pain.
Rusty confused trudges forward, his gears making a shrill whine. Each step thumps into the ground. His body language, even for a construct screams "Enough" his posture ready to smash anything coming too near, he bellows but it falls on deaf ears. The battle, sudden chaos has erupted around him.
The thin goblin, the one in the back retrieves a fist sized globe of glass and thick red liquid from a pouch and hurls it towards Rusty, or rather just short. As it sails towards the construct, he melts into the shrubs disappearing, into its thick greenery and mounds of snow.
