1. Argos (HP: 17/17) - Argos uses Staff 7; 4 damage Attack vs. Toucan 7 < 12 A Miss.
2. Toucan (HP: 1/1) - Toucan uses its Talons to attack 2; 1 damage Attack vs. Argos AC 2 < 16 A Miss.
You swing your staff at the Toucan. Instead of launching the bird into the pans, your staff gets momentarily tangled up in the pans, which fall to the ground with multiple metallic bangs.
"Insufferable imp!" The bird snaps, it flies towards you with its talons outstretched, but it misses you. "Foolish enough to fight me. If it a fight it wants it will get it."

1. Argos (HP: 17/17) - Argos uses Staff 12; 1 damage Attack vs. Toucan 12 = 12 A Hit.
2. Toucan (HP: 1/1) - Loses 1 HP; Now Toucan (0/1) = Dead
The toucan opened its beak to rebuttal, but just glowers.
With as much force as you can muster, you swing your mighty staff upon the toucan's head and in an instant, it crushes it with one blow. It breathes its last. The toucan's frail body was no match for you and your stick. It succumbs immediately, the squished bird now laying lifeless upon the kitchen table.
The room suddenly looks like it's spinning. As if poking at the air has caused ripples in the world itself.
"Well..." Croaks the voice from inside the dead toucan's body,"Good luck getting out of this one."
Suddenly, all of the stoves' fires turn on. A sweltering wall of heat engulfs the room, threatening its way to becoming an inferno.
The glasses and the notepad that the bird was carrying earlier just vanishes while bird's body lays there as the fires are becoming more intense. The flames are now creeping out of the grills and the stoves and are making their way towards you. The floor has begun sinking under your feet now, almost like you're caught in jelly. Jelly quicksand.
You hear a low undercurrent of an echoing cackle.
Somehow, someway, one of the pieces of paper from the notepad slowly drifts into your hands.
The last thing you see before the room gets too hot and your eyes to watery is that written on the note it says:
Inra is not what she seems.
((Roll for Dexterity: Acrobatics to get yourself out of there (the kitchen) or risk getting fire damage for staying in the room too long))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Argos
Roll vs. DC Save 10. Fail.
Your cries go unanswered as your feet plunge deeper into the now quicksand-y floor. The air becomes shockingly unbreathable. It feels as though the walls are closing in. The heat scorching your body as you trudge forward. Step by step, the once tiled floor consistently grabs onto your feet like suctions, threatening to drag you down further. Yet somehow you do manage to make it to do the door. The toucan's body is just laying lifeless, but you can still hear its mocking laughter in undertone.
You make it out of the kitchen, locking the door behind you. You take amount of 4 damage, but otherwise, you are okay.
((End of Toucan Encounter)).

That laughter will give him nightmares... That singing, laughing, talking bird... Irna not being as she seems... The twisted quicksandy burning room? Man...
-D. It really was her. Macario knew on some level that the gods were real, but he’d never expected to hear from one personally. There was a time where he would’ve been thrilled at the prospect, but that was a different Macario, and a different god. He sets the now blank page back down on the chest, keeping an eye out for any suspicious movements (he’d learned that lesson once today already), then puts on his real shoes, a well worn pair of black leather boots, and heads back down to the lobby for some actual breakfast.
(( OOF yeah it be like that sometimes. you were so close!!! fhlhfjfha))
((oh yeah um sorry I don't have anything planned about now so ummm maybe you guys can go roleplay/talk with each other for a bit is that good? I feel like now is the best time for player and player interaction.

@Macario
You are able to go to the lobby without interruption. Well there is an interruption now.
"Hi- *wheeze* Inra- *wheeze* Inra wants to see you."The receptionist you saw earlier is here, fiddling with his tail and leaning against the wall. He caught sight of you coming out the elevator and basically made a running B-line towards you. "She says it is urgent."
"Go to the executive office over there. There's breakfast. I'll show you."He points and leads you in that direction.
@Argos
You hear people outside the door to the executive room. "Here's the room. Inra will meet up with you two... later." You hear an out of breath voice say as the door cracks open.

Argos peeps through the crack. (Two as in Macario and Argos?) He'd rather not meet up with Irna after that daunting message during the toucan scene....
He turns away intending to go to the room and pretend to be in a deep sleep that he 'can't be woken up' from.
[[ Sorry for the long breaks, have been without power and internet since Sunday. Hoping it'll be back today! ]]
Macario gives the dark tabaxi a look up and down, wondering what was so urgent that Inra had to see him now when she had disappeared from the ballroom not ten minutes ago, then follows him over to the executive office. He places a hand on the door and begins to push, pausing for just a second to thank the tabaxi, then enters the room just in time to see an elven man go sprawling to the ground.
"Are you okay?" Macario asks tentatively, taking a second to look around the room and take in the spread.
"Uh, yes I'm alright yeah." Argos replied, not even looking at the human. "I meant to do that."
Awkward pause from him. Then he goes on a French laying pose after realizing the idiocracy he said. "Sooooo where are you going... To the rooms, kitchen or...."
Edit: (Didnt see that, its alright. Internet went away from me too last time!)
Macario can’t help but smile and let out a brief snort at the elf’s pose. “Apparently Inra wants to see me? Would you happen to know anything about that? I tried to track her down earlier after some trouble with a mimic, but wasn’t able to.” As he talks, Macario walks along the table, loading a plate with several small fruits, a couple of arepas, and a tamal. Reaching the end, he briefly looks back towards the elf by the entrance and says “I’m Macario by the way. I work with Alivios in Enerst.”
His pupils shrunk as he heard Irna. He shivered and started sweating from fear as he remembered the toucan incident. "I-I don't t-think I h-h-have..." He stuttered.
As he watched Macario walk to the table, he stood up and dusted himself off. "What is wrong with you Argos!" He grumbled to himself.
Afterward, he heard Macario introduce himself. He might as well too not be rude. But he's still kind of panicking, so he said the completely wrong thing "I'm... Argas... I work with nobody?"
Macario gives the elf a bit of a strange look as he sits down with his plate of food and a cup of black coffee, which he begins to sip. “…Um okay. So what do you do if you don’t work with anybody? Why do you think Inra wanted you here for the festival?”
In the middle of your conversation, you hear the front door slightly squeak open, then quickly shut close. A pair of light footfalls can be heard pacing on the tiles outside the door before it is opened once again.
The familiar cheetah-patterned tabaxi steps through the door, shoulders slumped, her hands wringing, and her tail laying low by her side, only slightly twitching a little.
Fiddling with her top hat, her gaze is set firmly on the ground. "Sorry. So sorry it took so long, Argos. I hope I didn't leave you waiting."She exhales before catching sight of Macario, her eyes lighting up.
"Oh! The aid worker! Mar- Macario, is it?"Inra steps over to you to give you a half-hearted handshake, "Oh good to see you! ¡Bienvenidos! How was the trip down from Enerst?"
From closer inspection, you can see that the fur around her eyes is more matted as if she's been crying. The dark circles pattern of her cheetah fur making her look especially tired today.
She lets go of your hand to look around the room. "Where's the others? I thought I sent Elias to go get them."Then she mumbles to herself, "I can't for the love of the gods find Lily."She then takes out a notepad (the same one, Argos, you recognize was the one the toucan was holding) and begins to scribble down something. "Elevator 1 is also broken. Needs to be fixed."
Inra loudly inhales again this time, eyes twitching, then claps her hands together, "Sorry. Sorry for gathering you together like this. I hope you have a great rest of your day. I- I-" She closes her eyes, balls up her fists, turning away from you guys before wiping her face down with her right hand. "I just don't think I can do the show tonight."
"Just got word my grandfather's- the owner- is coming. Out of all the days! He's so- ughhhh." She goes to sit at the far corner of the table, picking up an arepa along the way, and waves it around before she just bites into it.

"Yeah... yeah I'm fine. At least physically. My grandfather's just a real pain sometimes..."She sighed, putting down her arepa. "Thanks for asking, though I appreciate it. Sorry I've been so worked up on myself." She tilts her head at your change in demeanor, though not noticing your step, she looks at you gently,"Argos, ... you okay?"
“Pleased to finally meet you, Inra,” Macario says between bites of mango. He listens to her rambling, and at the mention of canceling the show, he frowns, remembering his earlier conversation via note card with Tanya. “My lady, forgive me if I’m overstepping, but why would we cancel the show? Is that not the reason you’ve gathered us? It sounded quite important from your letter.”
Her attention snaps back and forth at the drop of a dime. "Wha-? Oh. Yes, of course. That. Right."
"No. No worries. You have a right to know. I dragged you into this, didn't I?" She sighs, piercing the arepa with the claw on her index finger and just nonchalantly dragging it in a little circle on her side of the table, its greasy oil squishing all over the bamboo. "I- I really wanted this to be special. Out of all the nights this one would be it! Especially with the first snow! I mean-"
Inra stares at you two intensely, her arms outstretched across the table, and her eyes almost pleading.
"Do you ever get the feeling that you're wrong? Like everything you've been working up to... isn't real?" She jumps out of her chair now, leaving her mess of food behind.
"I know the other sects don't believe me. That this is just some children's holiday or something. That I'm doing this all for nothing! Or worse! That I'm appeasing Dinesa too much! Every year I do this! I know my grandfather hates it. That- that the staff pity me. Pay me scrap after losing out on the family fortune- which I'm fine with!- because I'm the numbskull who goes gallivanting trying to convert... and save people." She's, like, clawing at her own top hat. Her nails piercing through the fabric in angry grip as she holds it to her chest.
Now she's waving her hands around like a madman.
"I KNOW what I felt that day... I KNOW what I saw! I-" She stops. "It... doesn't matter. My grandfather's going to shut it down anyways... when he gets here. He always knew I'd be the downfall of the family's name."
