One time I created a temp HP dispenser for another campaign here. If you're interested I could recreate it for you. It's a Glory paladin and Glamor bard MC with inspiring leader. The idea is to prevent damage, rather than heal it.
Nice! I mean, if you're interested in joining their campaign, go ahead and submit it. Worst the DM could do is say, "No thanks."
I'm not very familiar with paladins, so I'd be interested in seeing that build. I was thinking along the same lines originally: give out temporary HP to reduce the need for healing. For example, after every rest, Warlock (Celestial patron) gets 25 THP at 20th level and grants up to 5 party members 15 THP each. And RAW, Twilight Domain cleric can use Channel Divinity (Twilight Sanctuary) to grant party members within 30 feet 20+1d6 THP each round for 1 minute!
Twilight clerics are busted so I don't usually play them, though I'd consider it for this campaign. But it was mentioned that there's a need for a CHA based character. Celestial locks and inspiring leader work together nicely, I think.
I'll go ahead and whip up a Glory paladin 6/ Celestial lock 14. Temp HP galore and each smite will give more! Plus the paladin aura will help with saves. Give me some time.
OK, here is my character. He's custom lineage based on tiefling appearance wise. Looks like a Lightforged Draenei from WoW. I started giving him gear but want to check what's allowed first. At such a high level it would not be strange to be carrying things like a Holy Avenger but I'd rather not assume.
Kayken has lived his entire life in the company of giants. He has always been skilled in forging weapons, though being weak has always kept him from succeeding. A Fire Giant named Raska saw his talent and took him under his wing. He quickly learned that Kayken, or Kay, or preferably K, had a natural talent, easily surpassing his own. So, he provided Kayken with magical strength, so he could properly forge. Kayken, spent his entire life with the giants, and their gods. He Prayed to Annam, he prayed to Sutur, and when alone, he prayed to Moradin.
But it was mentioned that there's a need for a CHA based character. Celestial locks and inspiring leader work together nicely, I think.
Ah, thanks. I've never actually seen Inspiring Leader in use, and I had misremembered it. I was thinking that characters could only benefit form it once / long rest. 😜
So, I guess the idea is that you benefit from Celestial Resilience after you finish a long (or short) rest. If everyone burns through those THP in the first encounter, you try to find 10 mins to use Inspiring Leader and grant another batch of THP before the next encounter. Survive to the next short rest. Rinse and repeat. So, if it's a combat-heavy day with two short rests, the warlock would be able to use up to 3*19 = 57 THP, and everyone else in the party could be burning through 3*12 + 3*25 = 111 THP each. That's before you use the Oath of Glory's Inspiring smite, but I guess that's just an extra ~13 THP to distribute (total) between rests (i.e., another 39 THP per day).
Nice! I'll have to keep Inspiring Leader in mind, especially in campaigns where the party doesn't have that much capacity for healing.
Also bear in mind that he will be casting Aid with a pact slot as often as needed and with a 5th level slot it gives 20 hp to 3 people. Slots come back on short rest so he could cast it on the whole party with two slots, rest, and have the slots back! Warding bond will be in play as well and resistances make temp HP last twice as long. I gave him blade ward for that reason, and of course the barbarian has rage. So much extra HP for soaking damage, reduces actual healing needed by a lot.

This is what he looks like, art obviously not mine and all credit to the original artist. Fair use, fair use, fair use:

K is a kobold, who acts like a giant.
