Nathan enters after the others, and asks Theodore: "I saw you cast Detect Magic, what do you see here?" I look to the kitchen: is there any sign of anyone having used the kitchen recently, such as leftover food or anything, or does it look like it hasn't been used in ages?
At a glance you can tell that the kitchen has been without use for years. But to ensure not to miss anything that may be hidden from view, you search around the counters and cupboards looking for anything out of the ordinary.
The only thing you found was a small metal vial in one of the cupboards, covered in grime and the occasional animal faeces from some small critter. It has an open metal lid that looks like it seals the vial. It is laying on its side and a black goop has pooled around the opening.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nathan calls out: "Guys, Theodore, I have found something! Look at this vial, it might be magical, right? Do you see anything about it with Detect Magic?" I also take a closer look at the vial, whether I see any symbols on it, and I also inspect the black goo, whether it resembles any substance that I know of.
Nathan picks up the vial and more goo flows out, though more liquidy than what was around the opening. It is too grime covered to tell if there is any symbols, until you turn it over to look at the less dirty side. On the bottom side you see parts of symbols, though there meanings are hard to determine under the layers of crud. The liquid that pours out onto the cupboard appears at a glance to be very dirty water or some similar liquid.
Upon being fully clean, the metal vial shines in the last few moments of light in the day. Nathan, you turn it around and written in arcane writing are the words 'Decanter of Endless Water'.
With the dying light, it is becoming difficult for everyone (without darkvision) to see things clearly. Some sort of light source is going to be needed soon.
Urselles, upon realizing that the sun will soon set, you remember that Chauntea asks her followers to avoid using open flames beyond necessity. As this thought occurs to you, you see lantern after lantern magically illuminate around town, like stars coming out.
Upon looking closer to the area around the first floor Theodore notices that there are two magical auras, one in Nathan's hands, the other appears to be coming from the chair. The vial holds a deep green aura of Transmutation while the chair radiates a light blue aura of Illusion. The chairs aura seems to reach all the way around the table, but it definitely originates from the chair.
"Guys, I have found a magic artifact! Thasiramus also used to have one of these, if I the writing is correct, this should be the Decanter of Endless Water!" Nathan tries to use the artifact, pouring some water in the kitchen sink.
The dark room illuminates, casting shadows upon the walls of your companions. Theodore is lit up next to you as he looks around the room, Nathan stands before the sink in the kitchen attempting to use a magic item, Croak is edging up the stairs, and Urselles timidly stands still in the doorway; yet to have the strength to enter.
Sathalvir, you watch as the house infront of you explodes with light. You begin to move towards the house.
"Sooooo spooky" Croak gestures for Urselles to enter.
Croak is halfway up the stairs, sounding each step for its structural integrity before allowing it to bear his weight. This is making an almost obnoxious amount of noise. He stops when his head reaches a point where he can see the layout of the second floor.
Each step creaks heavily and then the base beneath the steps creak even louder, but they hold. As you look down the dark hallway, you see a second door on the left at the end of the hall and another to the right about mid hall; both open but you cannot see inside. You are also not yet able to see far into the room to the left.
Urselles, as you approach the cushy chair you notice how soft it looks. Even though it is covered in dust it still looks very comfortable, the leather looks soo soft and is a nice maroon color.

Nathan looks at the decanter confused. Maybe the magic does not work? From the corner of his eye, he sees Urselles: "Urselles, what are you doing with that chair?"

Theodore still glancing around says "There's something else here, but I can't be sure what... Above us..."
Can I tell what type of magic it is?

Nathan points the decanter towards the sink and speak your master's words to call forth a stream of water, but nothing happens.

"Gentlemen, my lady. There is something else here, some.. illusion... centred around that chair!"
