"The town dies because it was only popular because of the Wizard's Guild. A guild that it seems Kyristan is the reason for it's disbandment." Isa gathers up the bowls, getting the meals set up for everyone. She continues to speak as she works. "After the wizards left; everyone else who could left as well. Those that stayed behind either were born here, like myself, had invested too much into this city and couldn't leave, or somehow still believes this town can be returned to it's former glory. I, honestly, always liked it when it was just a small village."
The food is laid out and enjoyed by everyone, with Shalech bringing the wine. Isa responds to Nathan's questions; "Sure, when everyone is ready we can check that out together."
This time Croak reaches in for a bowl of the soup, although he wonders whether this fire was started magically or conventionally. He glances around the room.
"What about that crazy coot we found at Dar's the other night? He got through the defenses then, why couldn't he sneak in here and then again at the Tower last night? Who is he and why is he here?"
Croak stops talking to munch his stew. Three bites in with a mouth half full of food, "Shalech, pass the wine... pronto" He smiles.
"Tamm is a begger by profession. He scams what he needs, and what he can get, out of people. He was probably just at the tower for food." Isa replies. "And if Tamm was here, he'd likely be laying dead on for floor from eating my jelly beans." She says, pointing at the jar on the table. "Not that that is why I have them." She adds, but you are unsure if that last part was the truth or not.
After a moment Isa realizes what she said. "Oh honey, no. I bought this jar off a wizard years ago as a defense mechanism. If you throw a bean, it transforms into a mindless dangerous monsters when it hits. A jelly like creature that tries to kill everything. Thankfully I've never needed to use them. But if Tamm came here, knowing him he'd try to eat them; and one of those creatures spawning in your mouth or stomach..." She stops and shivers.
Later, as Croak starts to look awfully pale and searches for a napkin, Shalech can't help but have a laugh at his expense, "What's the matter Croak, too much rosemary?"
"You know Urselles, you're right. I've never used them, and someone capable of dealing with threats should have them." Isa pauses for a moment, looking around the room. "How about I give these beans to you all; as payment for protecting me? There should be enough beans for everyone to get at least one; if noone wants to carry the jar. Unfortunately its been long enough that I don't recall which bean turns into which creature; though they all are dangerous."
Kizori, you can tell the voice came from your right, but you are unsure who said it, among the foliage and trees before you. You can smell the smoke of a nearby fire.
"Well that does sound fun. How hard do you need to throw them? What if your jar had rolled off of the table? And what kind of monsters? Maybe... we should... test one...?" he is grinning mischievously, looking around the room for approval.
Nathan is really curious about the jar: "Sure, let's test one! Isa, have you ever tried any of these beans? What color was it and what monster did it become?"
Shalech looks to Nathan and Croak, a little baffled and says, "If you want the jar to play with, take it. I feel like there are more pressing matters than creating monsters we'll have to fight." Turning to Isa, "Isa, the meal was excellent. Shall we clean up and get on with business? I believe Nathan wanted to inspect the areas emanating the necromantic residue, and your letters can be of great use to me and deciphering those journals."
How many days left before the Isa's ghost is due to return?
(Kizori, make an Intelligence Save to recognize the language.)
Isa turns towards Nathan, opens her mouth to respond; but decides not to after Shalech's words, simply shaking her head in response.
She looks at Shalech and says; "You are right, we are here on business, not pleasure." She rises and begins moving dishes to the sink. Once there, Isa places her ringed hand over the pile, and you watch as the left over food magically melts away until the dishes are clean and shining again.
"Nathan, if you would like to join me." She says with a smile, leading you to the bedroom. Han follows behind, also curious.
(The Ghost Prince is suppose to return to Isa tomorrow night.)
As Kizori begins travelling into the woods, you hear a guttural voice call out; "Maan! Duun huun daagaan!"

Shalech sits upright, "That would be interesting. If no one wants any of the beans, I'll carry the jar."
Shalech looks at the jar, seeing three orange beans, two gray beans, one white bean, two yellow beans, and four green beans.
