"No. I don't like to kill if I don't have to." Kizori scoffs at the suggestion. "I want to have them help the town. They are strong warriors, and can help rebuild and protect the town."
As they are walking towards Dar, Nathan tells the group: "Guys, when we get back from Dar, we should talk to Kizori about these hobgoblins... As far as I know, they are rather aggressive and dangerous creatures, who take what they want and destroy those who resist. I understand that Kizori doesn't want to kill them for no reason, and I agree, but we should be extremely careful with them, and I am doubtful about whether they could be trusted with defending the city."
After realizing that Dar is not at home, Nathan asks Isa: "Isa, are the council meetings public, or are they closed?"
(I forgot, did Dar ever tell Nathan how to turn the defenses of his tower on and off? If yes, then even if we go somewhere else, Nathan would recommend to leave the writings that they uncovered in the tower for safekeeping)
"They are generally held at the Mayor's house; next door to Han's place. They are usually closed to the public; but, depending on how the meeting goes, they may seek to talk to us. We could always wait over there for Dar." Isa replies.
(No, unfortunately Dar didn't tell you how to turn off the defenses; however... Nathan, make an Intelligence Save.)
Kizori, Eliath, and Urselles begin walking back to town. As they travel, Eliath asks Kizori; "I was wondering Kizori, what made you want to be an adventurer?"
"Hey, Dar didn't turn on the defenses of the tower. Shalech, don't you think we should leave the letters here? Even without the defenses I think they would be safer here. Given that I am his apprentice, I am sure Dar wouldn't mind me going into the tower even if he is not here. I sort of live here, after all. After that, once the others are also here, we could go to the meeting, unless there is are any new developments. I am sure they would also want to hear about the hobgoblins, and maybe Kizori could try to convince them to give them a chance."
"It's what we do! My parents were adventurers, my brothers and sisters were adventurers, my grandparents were adventurers. Only a few tortles settle down." Kizori shrugs.
That would be Nathan opening Dar's tower, not Shalech.
Shalech looks to Croak, "The Inn I suppose. At the very least we'll be able to hear the gossip. I'll not touch that piss and Isa's meal is still sitting well in my belly."
Shalech looks impatient, "Wonderful. What do we do now?"
"No. I don't like to kill if I don't have to." Kizori scoffs at the suggestion. "I want to have them help the town. They are strong warriors, and can help rebuild and protect the town."
"Well, let me know when they join you or their all dead." The old man says before shutting the door in your faces.
"Is there any place else you need to go?" Isa asks Shalech. "Someplace that we could go until Dar gets out."
Urselles sighs “well, at least we know what went wrong, although I appreciate your point of not killing” the goblin smiled at the tortle

Kizori sighs, and begins walking back to town.
Seeing that the gang could not gain entry to Dar's tower, Croak rejoins the group.
"After a day like today, I'd rather head over to The Clansman for a pint of that swill they pass off as ale."

(Nathan remembers that Dar had gone to the Council Meeting without turning on the tower defenses.)
"so then. Should we head to Dar's tavern or maybe see if anyone in town needs help"

Shalech pulls out the bundle of letters from his pack and hands them to Nathan. "If the defenses burn those up...."
"Oh, so it's something your people do? When did you start?" Eliath ask.
Shalech cautiously test the tower's defenses; finding the door unlocked and the defenses down.

(Sorry, I assumed that Shalech was testing the defenses since he handed off the letters.)
