The door scrapes open, too loudly everyone thinks, and there is unlit space ahead of you. The torchlight from the cellar shows a small landing and stairs immediately left (west) leading down into a tunnel that is fairly well lit from torches in the walls.
Holding her maul at the ready Rask prepares to enter second. She isn't interested in storming head first into any traps, and will leave the searching and clearing to those more capable and experienced in that area.
Yakeerk steps into the space beyond the secret door, bow and arrow trained at the bottom of the stairs. Nothing attacked him. With a nod to the others he walked carefully down the stairs, his bow moving about, searching for targets. He made it to the bottom and looked at the options, left or right. It was all quiet now.
Yga will follow and see if there are any signs of recent passage, and also assess the lighting ahead. She guesses that if one path is lit, then that would more likely to be have been taken by those without darkvision. Perception or investigation roll: 8

The passage to the left (east) is lit and there is evidence of recent passage. The area to the right (west) is dark and seemingly rarely traversed.
Yakeerk looks at Yga with an inscrutable owl expression then nods and continues eastward.
At the intersection the owlin ranger looks both ways quickly, then at the ground. The south passage is dark, but there is evidence of traffic in the form of footprints. The way east leads to a dead end, but a branching passage has torchlight and also evidence of recent passage.
Susk will follow the rest bringing up the rear, dagger in each hand. Conscious that he would try to throw off those following and perhaps ambush from behind, he will trust those ahead to keep him safe and watch the other passage as they move forward.
Heading down the eastern passage and then looking down the south eastern split, following the light, the passage splits again, south then east, both well lit.

Need a perception check from Susk please. Just in case there is someone following.
Yakeerk is still alive, he falls back with a bolt through his wing and another in his side. (has 2 hp left)
"They're in a cave, a few of them. There's a hobgoblin there too, only the Sea Princes use those scum as marines," he says, panting from the pain. "These are likely smugglers."
"Leave us now, and you will live!" says a familiar voice, booming out of the cave around the corner. It's the boss who claims to be a spellcaster. "We don't wish to kill you, but we will if we must!"

Yga whispers, "Ware that dark spot, it would be a good location for a trap."
Holding her maul at the ready Rask prepares to enter second. She isn't interested in storming head first into any traps, and will leave the searching and clearing to those more capable and experienced in that area.
With a quick nod to Yga, Susk stoops to inspect the unlit area "You can only test your luck so far"
Investigation : 19
There appears to be nothing that arouses Susk's suspicion.
Irob will tail behind the group, maximizing his lines of sight down the hallway for a firebolt
Yga will draw her mace and proceed with the party, assuming they go in.

"Which way?" he asks whoever was following.

Zaerra will follow down the stairs close to Irob also maintaining as much a line of sight as she can.
Rask will follow Yakeerk and Yga, heading before Zaerra and Irob. She will make sure to stand so she's not blocking their line of sight.
The passage to the left (east) is lit and there is evidence of recent passage. The area to the right (west) is dark and seemingly rarely traversed.
Yga will give Yakeerk a gentle nudge to go east....and follow in his clawprints.
Yakeerk looks at Yga with an inscrutable owl expression then nods and continues eastward.

Yga will defer to Yakeerk's rangerly judgement as to which way he thinks best. She doesn't want to ruffle his feathers.
Yakeerk moves around the corner, and from the eastern passage comes the twang of bows and crossbows being fired.
Two crossbow bolts and one longbow are shot at Yakeerk
Longbow: Attack: 12 Damage: 9.
Crossbow: Attack: 10 Damage: 8.
