To Veneer, B4 cave.

Near the cave B6, Veneer spots fungi with a black and purple blight on the stems. Maybe he should catch up with the others in Sinensas cave to tell them. The myconids here are watching Veneer with gleaming eyes. It reminds Veneer that he is an intruder here.

You watch as the Sovereign manages to move his feet, the black Mycelium fighting a battle with the soil enriched by Kracks goodberries, and the white glowing Mycelium from the healed roots.

Enok sends Hipsiz to bring back fresh undamaged roots from the fungus farm (B2). It will be used to pile around their sovereigns feet. With luck he might be capable of trance with a lot of support. They puff spore over Sinensas head again.

Help, can you clear the blocked vent? Enok asks

Theodor

"Of course, we shall rid your caves of this foul sickness."

Theodor gathers himself, he turns to the group.

"Same plan as before? I'll go in first, draw them out."

He has a stern, determined look on his face.

Krack

"If these are more of those drake's, watch out for their breath attack! It was nasty on the last group" he says.

Shayla

She nods and is ready to follow into the foul cave.

DM

Theodor remembered the last time they fought fume drakes, both Barakas and Trilaxa had been badly injured, but saved from death by Runara. He has the highest armour rating so it makes sense for him to tank. He says a quick prayer for aid from Bahamut.

Theodor marched back out of Sinensas cave and straight across the cavernous B4. He sees Veneer waiting by the tunnel in the south west. The myconids there acknowledge you with a wave. They are already feeling the Sovereigns Mycillium reach out to them, no longer blighted. Shayla and Krack follow readying their bows for distance combat.

Trilaxa

Trilaxa, thankful for her newfound powers, steels herself to face the fume drakes and joins the others, although she hangs back, hoping to help from a distance.

shivering. he creeps back to the others. he looks around, but stays quiet, wondering who exactly he should tell. to anyone watching he shifts from foot to foot nervously.

then hearing they are planning on fighting. groans and curses under his breath, drawing his short swords. he mutters "i won't stay out this time..."

Shayla

As she passes Veneer she pats him on the shoulder and says, "Fear is the mind killer. Fear cannot hurt you, therefore it teaches you nothing."

Theodor leads the way down the tunnel to the Crystal cave B6.

The air in this cave is choked with thick smoke that assaults your nostrils with a pungent odour of brimstone. Strange, flickering orange light illuminates the smoke. This area is free of fungal growth; instead crystals grow from the rock. To your right, a large cluster of purple crystals juts from the stone. On the far wall, a glowing orange crystal wedged into a fissure in the cave wall seems to be the source of the light. Streaks of soot trace a path along the cave walls between the purple crystals and the fissure. You remember the Sovereigns memory the orange crystal is blocking the vent.

A screech fills the air and you see a fast moving shadow closing in on Theodor, it is a fume drake.

intiative 14 fume drakes, 7 party.

The fume drake closed on Theodor and attacked. Attack 12 damage 5 fire, Its teeth slid on the armour, missing Theodor.

The second fume drake sat on stone and attacked from there, scalding breath attack 3 damage 20, Theodor hears the song of the litany again and his surcoat began to glow, the letters moving. The drakes attack warms him up but disperses without damage.

Fume Drake 1 is in front of Theodor, Fume drake 2 is on the wall to his right.

Theodor

Hoping to draw both Fume Drakes to himself, Theodor bursts out a yell, and attacks the Fume Drake in front of him. 

To hit: 14 - Damage: 9

Theodors strike made a crushing sound as the leg of the fume drake crumpled. Its screech encouraged the other drake to hiss at Theodor.

Trilaxa

Trilaxa calls forces from beyond the mortal realms to weaken and harm the drake in front of Theodor, then follows it with a blast of force.

Shayla

The priestess moves to stand with Theodore.

Krack

Assuming the drake in front of Theodore is alive, Krack will attack it, if it is not, he'll attack the other one.

Shortbow attack: 7 dmg: 7

Trilaxas blast rips into the drake in front of Theodor, it is driven back with force, the drake dies without even using it scalding breath. 

One drake left on the cavern wall.

In a display of Martial arts Shayla punches the drake wounding it so it drops to the floor. Her kick hits home in its shoulder with a sickening cracking noise but it is still alive.

Unfortunately Krack misses.

Veneer

Blinks at Shayla for a moment, not understanding the message. Then gets ready to fight.

Noticing most of the fumes Drake's get taken care of he stows his swords and draws both daggers then hurls them at the Drake in quick succession.

Veneers daggers bite deep into the fume drake, for a moment it thrashes around and then finally stops moving. It is dead.

You now need to unblock the vent. The strange orange crystal like shard glowers at you.

Krack

Nature: 17
