The shopkeeper glances at the daggers, than looks back at you. "Some gnome came in a week ago. He said that his grandfather had used them , but he had no use for them, and so sold them to get some money to buy his family some land. They're good quality," He moves to take the daggers off the shelf, "Dwarven-made, and enchanted. Extra sharp, and can't be melted down. He said that they hadn't even collected dust from the hundred or so years they said in the chest."
You here the door open behind you. Glancing back, you see Kathleen has walked in. The shopkeeper turns to her. "Welcome to Alan's Scavenger Shop! I am helping this customer right here, but I will be with you shortly."

Seems a bit outlandish for some random gnome to have something that good. But they look better than what I have. How much for them? Flux says, obviously noting its quality, but not wanting to show it.
Kathleen's elf ears perk up at Flux's words. "Gnome?" She turns around to look at the daggers too. She says, "Do you think Glowkindle is the gnome that sold these daggers?"
But do you even know what kind of magic it is? For all we know, it could be some spell that makes it easier to cut bread with. Hows about this. Are there any odd jobs you'd have us do to earn those daggers? We are adventurers after all, and no one comes around here enough to notice those fine daggers rusting and collecting dust up there.
"Like I said, the enchantment makes it sharper. Here." He turns around and rummages a bit, then pulls out a thick wool blanket. "See?" He uses the dagger to cut through the blanket in one swipe. "As for tasks, don't have any, no, that's not what I do. I don't tell people what I need, you see, like most people who trade in tasks, I take what they can give, more like you adventurers myself."
"Have a good day." The shopkeep states off-handily as you leave. He then turns his attention to the crossbow, runs his hands over it, and cocks it back, examining how well it works. "Okay, for this one, definitely used, I'll give you 20 gp."
Kathleen says, "Sounds like a good deal to me." She will sell the crossbow for 20 GP. She will then head back to the tavern to rest for the rest of the day before heading back to the brewery early next morning to investigate the well.
The next day, Kathleen and whoever else wishes to investigate the cellar more goes back to the brewery, and Glowkindle lets you into the cellar. You see the mess of your fights in the first floor, and you carefully cross the trap, and enter the room with the well.
Kathleen will ask her party members to share their ropes with her and then she will look around to see if there is any sturdy place that she can secure the rope to and descend.
There is a wooden handle with a frayed rope on in attached to the well, and a wooden table in the corner. There is also some rubble in the corner you might be able to attach a rope to.

Kathleen responds, "No problem. I can just look around while I wait." She then turns to Flux and greets, "Hi Flux. What'cha buying?"

"The daggers? I think I'd sell the pair for 200 gold." The shopkeeper nods. "Yes, 200. The magic, you know, makes it valuable."

Kathleen is a bit confused by the "we" in that sentence but she doesn't say anything. She's going to wait for her turn.

Kathleen hefts up her Light Crossbow and says, "Well... anyway... do you want to buy this Light Crossbow?"
"Sure, sure." He holds out his hand. "Just let me examine it please."
Kathleen hands over her crossbow.
Thanks anyway. I'll be back when I've got the money.

Kathleen will first peer down the well to see if the centipedes are back and if she can see all the way to the bottom of said well.
You look down and see all the way to a layer of water. You do not see any movement at the bottom.
Kathleen will ask her party members to share their ropes with her and then she will look around to see if there is any sturdy place that she can secure the rope to and descend.

Kathleen will secure her rope to the rubble (since it seems the most secure) and then tie the other end to her waist before she climbs down the well.
