Where ever Valagan detects magic, he will try to determine the school and make a mental note of the area and continue to examine the area before the spell runs out. Should be able to cover the distance in the 10 mins (ooc: maybe?). Survival23

No I don't think you could cover all 4 sides of the hill in 10 minutes but it's a ritual so if you want you can just cast it again. I assume you would do this.
It takes 3 ritual casting of detect magic but you cover all 4 sides of the hill. You find 4 patches of earth, East North and West that glow in a faint swirl of magic. The effect is not something you have seen in many years but you remember it's a rare occasion that hits that you are sitting on a focal point of magical energy. If it was not the fact the spell is blocked by 3 feet of dirt you are sure the whole mound would glow. You can't get the since if any one school of magic.
It is now mid afternoon approaching 3 pm. You have roughly 4 hours of daylight remaining
“Well, Valagan shall we dig? It matters not to me if we enter in the day or night.” If everyone is agreeable Leif once again begins the process of clearing the north aura. As he commences the dig he also retrieves a unit of feed for his axebeak (several pounds of mealworms and grubs) Darling Rax snarls if anyone approaches while he ravenously eats!
Leif replies in elvish, "No te preocupes, amigo mío, mi truco te ayudará a conservar nuestros músculos mentales para la verdadera batalla que se avecina"
translation—
“No worries my friend my cantrip will shovel as we conserve our mental muscles for the real battle ahead.”
"Are we going to wait for this fellow to wake up?" speaks Valagan in his raspy whisper. He pokes the skeleton's head with the end of his staff and pushes it around a bit.
"How about you introduce him to your mace in the most... smashing way possible? You know, just in case it has any resurrection plans!" he says to Aelar.
Valagan makes his way to the pyramid and starts an Identify ritual.
Aelar looks up from his digging and nods solemnly. It’s the least we can do for the poor souls. As he walks over to the skeleton he draws his mace of disruption. Since it is early evening (3-5pm ish depending on how long we’ve been digging), as the weapon is drawn you see it emit a shockingly bright light once it is firmly in hand.
While you hold this weapon, it sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
Standing over the skeleton, Aelar brings the mace down hard over the head, make a titanic slamming sound as it hits.
OOC - not assuming it just smashes the skull; making an attack roll to be safe (advantage due to prone enemy)
Multiattack:
16 to hit (lol good thing advantage—got a nat 1 on first roll): 23 dmg (11 + 7 radiant + 5 mace radiant)
When you hit a fiend or an undead with this magic weapon, that creature takes an extra 2d6 radiant damage. If the target has 25 hit points or fewer after taking this damage, it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be destroyed. On a successful save, the creature becomes frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
We should exhume the rest of these if for no other reason to rid the world of one more danger. Then he starts digging out the other graves and repeating the smashing skull process.
I'm not so sure about waiting until night. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I cant see all to well in the dark (no darkvision) so the sooner we get this done the happier I will be.
Okay, we're going to pause here. What do y'all want to do? So far you have uncovered three patches of interest on the north east and west sides. It sounds like you also want to interact with the skeleton that you have uncovered and dig in the North point.
Correct me if I'm wrong but everyone is back on top of the hill near the graves and the pyramid.

Valagan makes his way to the pyramid and starts an Identify ritual.
Identify gives you the following.
The pyramid is a large magic focus that has a ritual ingrained in it. During the day absorbs sunlight to recharge its magical energies and at night it casts a spell similar to animate dead.
The spell will bring what's in the graves to life during the night.

Worry not about the dark, for my weapon shall light our way. Aelar also picks up a rock and casts light on it and hands it to Jon. The darkness gives us nothing to fear except fear itself.
OOC - I say the ones that can cast elementalism continues to clear the north dirt where detect magic lit up, depending on what that does we can check on the other dirt areas. The rest of us take care of the skeletons.
continuing to dig up the graves using elementalism Orjon says Thank you for the shiny rock. If it could be helpful, now that i have the the rock i could quickly scout out one of the paths. unless we think the graves are going to be a bit more important.
Leif waves over Valagan, "I have something new. Here take a look." Leif takes out his Book of Shadows, "There is a page in the back I've saved for you. If you sign your name the first time you would die, the reaper will bow and let you live. I only have room for four well, what do you say? Care to stack the deck in our favor?"
Leif will offer the others a chance also if they would like, when the opportunity presents itself.

Valagan holds the book and gazes at the page. Almost looking through it. He stands staring for some time before looking up and reaching into his pouch pulling out a pen and ink bottle. "Who am I to refuse a gift of protection." he says to Leif, "Thank you!" (ooc: if the DM allows it?)

ooc: What is our plan? Are we gonna finish off these graves before they animate, or are we up for the fight? Where to next? We probably need to explore where the paths terminate a bit more carefully. How is Therkis? A rogues skillset could come in handy.
Valagan will take a closer look at the 3 points of interest noted above, starting with the patch of interest to the north. Perception20.

ooc: DM, Where did the footprints lead to along the paths? Do they just go off into the forest, or did they lead somewhere or just end?

Valagan looks back toward Leif with a rye smirk and shakes his finger toward him.
For DM and Leif:
Valagan cast Message.
Leif, you hear his raspy, wispy voice in your head. "Dig? With these arms? My Friend, I break a sweat just flipping through my spellbooks!"
He pokes the end of his staff into the ground a few times.
Leif replies in elvish, "No te preocupes, amigo mío, mi truco te ayudará a conservar nuestros músculos mentales para la verdadera batalla que se avecina"

(using elementalism again 1cubic foot per round)
Aelar helps with his shovel for the north aura since he doesn’t have any cantrips that would help.
Every couple shovel loads Leif throws in a breeze. “You are a friend indeed Aelar!” Leif’s eyes glint with admiration for the paladin.
They did not lead anywhere. With your survival check you see the footprints had a patrol pattern.
