Kessintra looses an arrow at the webbed beast. She then slips into the shadows a little ways from the others so they aren't all grouped up in case the creature breaks free and charges.
Action: Shortbow to hit (with advantage from Zan's guiding bolt) nat 20 + 6 + 3 bless for 29, damage 10 + 12 sneak attack (didn't realize at first that sneak attack gets double dice for criticals too) for 22 piercing damage.
Bonus action: Cunning Action hide behind some bricks or in one of the other doorways (Stealth: 26 + 1 bless for 27)
Apologies if I’m mistaken, but I believe the Owlbear should make a Dex save against Chipper’s Web spell first (Dex 14), followed by another Dex save for Amelia’s Faerie Fire.(Dex 14) So it would be two Dex saves in total.
@DM (Oh that's my mistake. My apologies. Anyway, it's Amelia’s turn!I’ve decided to cast Guiding Bolt instead, as Scorching Ray might ruin Chipper’s web.) Amelia grasps her amulet and traces the Protector’s symbol in the air. From the glowing Elven sign, a blinding stream of energy surges toward the Owlbear.
“Struggle not, mighty beast. I do not wish for you to suffer further.”
OOC: I checked guidance is definitely just checks, not for attacks ---- "add the number rolled to one ability check of its choice" Not a rule-lawyer, I was just making sure I understood it correctly.
Kessintra breathes a sigh of relief before approaching. She plays a few notes for the fallen owlbear before shaking her head and heading into its room to look for Grol's chest.
Phew, I thought for sure that thing was going to slice me in half after it blasted its way though the doorway! Thank you for helping me put it out of its misery. Let's go find that chest and be done with this place. Garrick then searches the beast's body and the room for anything useful (including the chest).
You both see the wooden chest on a jagged ledge. The chest itself is best described as battered. The chest is unlocked and contains 90 ep, 120 gp, a potion of healing, and two scrolls. Garrick, Zan, and Amelia can identify the first one as revivify. Zan and Amelia can identify the second as silence.

I exist sometimes, especially when I'm DMing Curse of Strahd.
Garrick takes his share of the money as well. Ignores the rest as it doesn't interest him. OOC - the items I put into my 'party loot' inventory as usual so nothing is forgotten. As always, just claim an item, and I'll remove it from my character.
So shall we return back to town to claim the quest bounty? I wouldn't mind a hot meal and comfy bed either.
Amelia watches closely as Kessintra plays for the fallen Owlbear. Standing beside her, she silently prays for the beast’s spirit.

"I see no reason to stay in this stinking hole any longer. Let’s return to town. But before resting, I need to speak with the fortune tellers—I saw them in my vision as well."
@Zan
After identifying the scrolls, Amelia says, “Brother Zantorin, which scroll will you be taking? I’m interested in the *Revivify* scroll.”
And if no one claims the potion of healing, Amelia will pick it up as well.
Save for Faerie Fire: 6
Kessintra's turn

The beast lets out a screech of pain, and tries to catch its breath after the relentless attacks it's endured. Amelia's turn.

Web's save conditions are both on the owlbear's turn, so right as its turn starts I'll make the save.

Action: Cast Guiding Bolt
Attack: 18 Damage: 16
Bless:1
Guidance :1
The beast roars. The tears in its eyes show that it's on death's door.
Dex save against Web: 15

Asking for clarity: Guidance is just for ability checks right? Not attacks or damage
And Bless is just for the "to hit" attack, not damage, right?
It runs past the webs, and rushes to you all. It's going to attack Zan with its beak:
Attack: 21 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
And Garrick with its claws:
Attack: 11 Damage: 14

Both misses. Garrick's turn. Put it out of its misery.

I think. One big difference is that Guidance is for only one roll, whereas bless is for every "to hit" roll and saving throw.

Garrick, seeing the beast is on its last legs, raises his crossbow again and attacks out of mercy rather than fear or anger.
Attack 1: To hit 11 (10 + 1 bless): 7 damage
Bonus Attack: To hit dirty 23 (22 + 1 bless): 8 damage
The first bolt flies past the owlbear. It's face is filled with relief...... until the second one hits, killing it.

Kessintra will only take her share of the money (18 ep and 24 gp) since she already has a healing potion and is uninterested in the scrolls.
"This has barely quieted them at all..." She mutters to herself, crossing her arms.
