before taking the rest Arafiel will use Arcane Recovery to recover a 3rd level spell slot

“Hey Ras, lets you and I scout ahead of the group on the way to the bridge.”  Says Ian.

With or without Ras , Ian sneaks up to the bridge to see what is waiting.  Stealth check 13

As Ian approaches the bridge, he can seem a campsite on each side of the bridge.  Many Orc are stationed on each side of the bridge.  From his vantage point, approximately 15 Orc on each side.  A large tent is positioned on the far side of the bridge.  You have not been detected yet.

Ian comes back to the group.  “ There are many more Orcs at the bridge.  Some on each side.  If we could hit one side and set a trap for the others, I think we can take them.  I counted about 30 though.”

That many ? then why didnt the big one go that way?

The half-orc tries to count up to thirty using his fingers and sighs as he concludes he doesn't have enough of them.

"Even Thagakh would have problems dealing with that number. Maybe we could wait for the purple-colored knights to arrive if we want to pass through."

The half-orc rubs his chin as he thinks of a plan.

"If only there's a way to make them fight each other, then we won't have spend that much effort..."

"My hands are sort of tied," Tyrus admits, "My strengths lie in straight combat. I don't have much in the way of distraction or trickery. I remain ready to fight once the group is ready."

In the distance towards Waterdeep. you all see a pillar of dust and smoke heading your way.  The ground shakes with the rumble of horse hooves pounding the ground.  The banner of the Waterdeep high guard flies at the lead.

The half-orc shows an excited expression on his face as he sways his arms towards the group of horse-riding high guards.

"Thagakh is impressed. Thagakh thought we would have to wait a day or two before theybcome.

I guess those purple-colored knights know who to call for reinforcements."

Conalt helps flag down the Waterdeep soldiers.

As soon as the soldiers stop, Ian tells them what he has seen at the bridge.

The leader of the Waterdeep force speaks to Tyrus. “Are you the leader of this group?”
