eyes swept over the others as they stirred, carefully avoiding the sleep-anger of the lad who flailed in his sleep. Once the others were awake enough to notice, he turned to Bomon, giving him a reassuring pat on the back. “I’m fine, Bo,” he said softly, his voice a calming presence in the tense air.
"I suppose our current goal should be to free ourselves," he mused aloud, glancing toward their captors. "I hope those gentlemen have keys, for our sakes." His tone was light, but there was a quiet determination in the way he said it—Oji’s optimism ever-present, even in such a trying situation.
“Calm yourself Ravi,” Bomon stated, his voice steady and measured. “You’re throwing punches without knowing what you’ll hit and yelling without knowing what might come.”
As the words settled a flicker of doubt crept into his expression. He shrank back slightly, suddenly less certain of his authority in this group and the words he spoke.
Abruptly moving on, he regarded Oji. “Uh anyways that's a great idea,” his eyes scanning the dimly lit room. “We check the corpses … and the surrounding area… see if we can find anything useful.”
With a low groan he pushed himself to his feet, his body stiff. Blinking against the dim glow that illuminated their surroundings he exhaled and muttered with a light smile, “Thanks for the light, Tyjra.” And he started his search.
You may divvy this up however you'd like. You can discuss it in Discord if you'd rather resolve it OCC without having to worry about turn order. Do still RP out who gets what though here.
Ravi seemed relieved that even though he swung he hadn't hit anything. He looked to the others and he let out a small sigh. "Sorry about that, there were two outcomes of where I come from to which you were being woken up, one was we had to find a new hiding spot or you were being arrested. It becomes second nature" He said before he slowly began to stand up and began to wipe his clothing off from any dust or debris left on his clothing. He then began to look around trying to take in what little of a scene there was.
"Glad the light helps.” She scans the corridor and sees the guard's bodies. Without hesitation in her tone, she says, “Welp, you’re not using this. I’ll take a torch just in case my magic goes out again; can’t be sure. This place has more twists and turns than my childhood.”
Bomon grabs the keys and starting with Oji he begins unlocking the manacles that bind his companions. He then moves on to the other items left behind by the guards. He picks up the shortsword and hands it to Tyjra. "Just in case your magic goes out again… it might be useful for us all to have something." He grabs the sling and its five bullets and hands them to Oji. "I know it’s not your preferred style, but I know you’re a way better shot than I am still." With the gear distributed, he begins to don his new armor and asks uncertainly, “We’ll... what now?”
Ravi quietly put the dagger sheathed just between himself and his belt and he looked to the others. "Whelp, somehow we are all alive....well for now" He said as he waved his hands a bit and tested his mage hand spell to see if he could cast magic now. He hoped that he still wasn't being affected by the magebane that had been in his system.
She thinks to herself "As long as I have magic I wont have much need for equipment, but I dont know how long I will have magic."
Scanning around nervously Tjyra asks "Any idea which way to go? In such a strange place I suppose it doesn't matter which direction we go..." her voice trails off in confusion.
Oji took the sling and bullets with a practiced hand, nodding to his nephew with quiet reassurance. "I will attempt to use them if I can," he said, his voice calm and light, as if they weren’t armed with little more than stones and hope.
Stepping toward the mouth of the tunnel, he peered into the shadows ahead. The air was heavy, still echoing faintly with the sounds of their fall. “Only one way to go,” he mused, half to himself, half to the others. He glanced back over his shoulder, his tone warm but inviting. “Shall I take the lead, or do one of you wish to walk ahead of an old man?”
Bomon finishes buckling the last strap of his new armor and giving a final half-hearted tug at one of the straps. He looks toward the tunnel mouth where Oji stands.
“I'm sure you’ve got the best eyes and the calmest head among us, Uncle. I can’t think of a better person to lead,” he says, stepping closer. “And I’ll be right behind you if anything happens.”
Looking uneasy about the darkness ahead of them he adds, “Now, I have a little question for our more magic-adept companions… can we keep lighting the way with what we have now?... Or should we strike up one of these torches?”
Ravi lets out a light laugh as he scratches the back of his head. He looked to the other three and he shrugged to Bomons response. "Sadly, I have no way of creating lights with magic, had I known that one day Id be in a really dark place with no chance of escape, I probably would have actually taken the time to learn it" He said as he looked to his hands before gathering up closer to them and he hoped that the one person who could use magic to create light could help them.
Tyjra exclaims "I think I can help! It has been so long..." then she waves her hand with a look of concentration she points at Bomon's new armor and casts light.
His armor now produces a low amount of light. "Yay, I haven't forgotten!" She smiles to herself and admires the light for a second. Then the reality of the situation bleeds back into her mind.
"Maybe we can find a town, and I can open a bar where is sing! I would like that. A fresh start, that sounds amazing. Are we headed towards a town? I would like that very much."
Bomon watches happily as the faint glow spreads across his armor. “…That’s… better,” he says quietly, glancing toward Tyjra. “Thank you. Really… your magic’s been a big help. And Ravi maybe you could learn from Tyjra.” His gaze then drifts to the mouth of the tunnel where Oji waits. A familiar anchor in an unfamiliar dark. After a moment Bomon asks, “…Is everyone ready to go?” His feet already turned to follow his uncle.
Ravi shakes his head as he walked over to Bomon. "Sorry mate, I like to use my magic to mess with people and confuse them, its just the way its been. I dont know if Ill ever be able to learn it" He said before he looked to Oji and he nodded. "Alright, lets head out and see what riches we can find in this new vast hellhole we all find ourselves in!!" He shouted trying to just find something positive about the shit situation he had found himself in. He then began to walk backwards as he began to take the lead regardless of how dark is seemed to be.
Even at this relatively high elevation, the caverns and tunnels that make up Deephold are a twisting warren full of disorienting turns, sudden drops, slippery climbs, and dead ends. The tunnels range from sweeping stalagmite-marked caves to tight, claustrophobic squeezes between sheer walls of glistening rock. Only an experienced delver can reliably travel here without consistently running into some form of impassable terrain and having to turn back. Accordingly, when travelling between one junction or location within the caverns and another, you must choose a navigator to make a Wisdom (Survival) check. You cannot fail this check, it is more a determination of how long it takes to find/arrive at the next place.
I posted this on the forum as well but posting it here as well.

Tunnel Foraging
Food is scarce in Deephold, but not impossible to find. You may wish to search for edibles in the local area, and doing so requires an hour. Any characters attempting to must make a Wisdom (Survival) check.
Fire Supplies
Characters may also wish to search the nearby tunnels for flammable objects. Such resources are a rarity, but certain dry mosses and pale, loamy root-structures that extend occasionally through the rock can be found. Doing so takes an hour, and requires a Wisdom (Survival) check.

"Oh it would be fun to find a little town and leave my old life behind. They could have bar and I could sing a few nights a week. Live a nice quiet life of a local perform. I could start fresh. Oh that sounds delightful."
She glances over to the others and says "I really dont want to lead the way, maybe one of you strong men could guide us?"
Oji glanced back at the group as they gathered themselves, his expression warm with quiet pride. As the youngest among them adjusted their footing and gear, he offered a smile that managed to bring a touch of comfort, even here in the unknown.
"We should be cautious," he began gently, "and take care not to be caught unawares in these strange lands." His gaze shifted to Ravi, voice thoughtful but kind. "Ravi, my dear boy, I imagine you're likely to be quieter on your feet than the rest of us. While I can guide our general direction, perhaps you could scout a bit ahead. If you reach a place where the path grows uncertain, simply pause and wait for us to catch up—I’ll help navigate any obstacles or treacherous ground."
A playful light touched his voice as he added, "Think of it as an ant guiding a herd of elephants across a ravine—small, nimble, and far wiser than its size suggests."
With that, Oji turned, his posture straightening as he took the lead once more, eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the lay of this new, alien terrain. Every step forward was deliberate—measured not only in distance, but in duty.
