"A wounded elf has what you seek..." the bard mutters, as if the bells jarred his memory. He glanced at the others and said, "I believe that we are in agreement that the hags are best confronted in the light of dawn. Shall we secure lodgings and get the twins into a safe place first? If daylight permits perhaps we will still have time to visit the Vistani camp and seek out the elf that Madam Eva told us about. Kasamir I think was his name."
A flight of ravens flies past the column of wagons, cawing and prucking to each other. They circle you and head back to Vallaki dancing together in their aerial acrobatics. Ravenkind know that you are coming.
Alerya starts counting on her fingers "Elves...Hags...Lodging...Twins...Daylight...Vistani....Elves...Wait wasn't that the first thing?" She's a little confused with all the things to do, but not discomforted by it. It isn't the first time, won't be the last, and at least she hands friends to guide her way.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
The bard rides up to travel alongside Crisaryn and greeted her with a kind, but thoughtful smile. He extends his hand, offering her the scroll of silence. "Keeping them quiet may very well turn the tide of our impending battle. Should I fall, this could prove useful in your hands. I know the spell, now two of us can cast it. Tonight I will turn in early and try to craft a back up healing scroll. Perhaps we can even track down a few potions in town or from the Vistani. I don't think we can overprepare for the hags."

"Thanks?" Crisaryn says asIllmirth hands her the scroll. She glances at it, then offers it back. "I can't use this."
Her attention then turns to the approaching town of Vallaki. "What time will the gates of Vallaki open and close? Maybe we'dbe better off keeping outside the town so we can leave early."
She does nod though though to Iimirth's other comments. "We should meet with the Vistani if we can this evening."
"Drat," he says, placing the scroll back in his pack. "I knew no Drow sorcerers, in fact they are extremely rare, or very good at disguising their power as wizardly. The males of value were trained as warriors or mages," he said softly, with the slightest flinch and a grimace could be detected flashing across his face, as if pained by an old wound. Being neither a warrior or a mage, Illmirth figured that the math was easy enough to do. With a quick shake of his head the moment passed and he turned his attention on the approaching bits of civilization. The past was the past, his focused belonged on the road ahead and his life under the glorious sky.

Ismark nudges his horse and rides up next to the party. Can you see those walls? I should have come here earlier rather than stay with father.
You notice that the Vardos are pulling over on the right. Ellis rode down to them gesturing Vaelar along. Here we part company, we are headed to the Winter Camp by Lake Zarovich a bell up the path.
You are welcome to spend as much time in the camp as you wish. You'll reach the gates of Vallaki just before dusk at this rate, the gates shut just afterwards and remain shut until dawn. The Blue Water Inn there is good, the people who run it are friends of Ravenkind.
The Old Svalich Road meanders into a valley watched over by dark, brooding mountains to the north and south. The woods recede, revealing a sullen mountain burg surrounded by a wooden palisade. Thick fog presses up against this wall, as though looking for a way inside, hoping to catch the town aslumber.
The dirt road ends at a set of sturdy iron gates with a pair of shadowy figures standing behind them. Planted in the ground and flanking the road outside the gates are a half-dozen pikes with wolves' heads impaled on them.
She is curious about the bizarre form of road decoration. The school she came from often had signs on paths that were encouraging or uplifting. A dead wolf head...what could that mean?

"We have been warned to avoid traveling at night. Perhaps the welcoming committee," he says, sweeping his arm out towards the wolves heads,"is a similar, less subtle, warning. It may be wise to secure safe lodgings and learn what we may from behind the walls tonight. We could visit the Vistani camp in the morning and still have many hours of daylight to investigate the windmill." Illmirth shares his thoughts and then listens carefully to any other ideas that the team presents.

Crisaryn nods, considering Illmirt's explanation for the wolf heads. "I agree we should find safe lodging tonight in Vallaki. And leave at first light. I would deal with the hags first. That must be done while we have light. I would not put it off."
Ismark rides up to the gates and calls to the guards as the sun is near setting. Can you direct us to the Blue Water Inn?
Here for the festival? The guard asks.
Not that I know of. We're moving here and hope to find a house in the merchant district.
Old grandpa Denni just died, his family want a quick sale, it's a solid house, has it's own well for sweet fresh water and a stable for your horse. Ask to purchase it at the Burgomeisters office. Here take this map I'll mark on it where to find the Inn. All business shuts down at dusk apart from the Inn. You'd better get inside now The guard gestures at them to enter.
Here you are at the southern gate, keep to the central road until you reach the city square, the Blue Water Inn (N2) is on the square itself facing the wicker sun. Can't miss it!
