"Whoa, water then fireworks. Wait a moment, Thanandol caused both." Dealuri ponders whether the wizard is doing good or doing evil before reaching her conclusion. "Awesome! Glad you are on our team." Only then does she register that Thanandol has been injured by the explosion and that there is something else out there that also is in pain. Her natural inclination is to ready her longbow for potential action.
Skritch pokes his head out into the corridor, looking in both directions to see if he can spot any results from Thanadol's orb-manipulation (Perception: 12+3=15 Arcana: 14+4=18).
As he looks out, he doesn't notice all the static in the orb room making the fur on his tail stand on end behind him.
Then he looks back into the room and mindsays to the group, "Looks like we're heading north again, right? Everyone, er, ready?"
Vakas senses the nature of the sword and throws it across the room with his mage hand, to a dark corner of the room. “No. Something is definitely off about that sword. No one pick it up! I sensed… something … living inside it. I can’t explain. Do not touch it.” He continues to stare at the ball of energy for a moment, watching what Thannadol is doing, shielding his eyes, then he starts to head for the northern passage, taking up the role of sneaking forward again, scouting ahead.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Vakas you leave the room and the allure of the sword behind and head out toward the main tunnel. Before you get there you hear loud explosion ahead followed by a terrifying roar, and behind the blue glow is doused and you hear the thud of Thanadol hitting the ground. Skritch scampers past you to the door ahead, looking this way and that up and down the main passage.
In the room Thandols eyes blink open and he groans in pain as he clambers to his feet. "Fascinating." he murmurs under his breath before gathering himself up and looking at you Dealuri and Rachus with that wizardly twinkle in his eyes that you are starting to become familiar with.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" he huffs before following Vakas and Skritch out of the room.
You all head north along the main tunnel, and the rumble of fast running water become louder and louder until at last the passage opens up into a wide cavern with a fast flowing river running through its centre.
"Well I dont think we need worry about the bridge being trapped." Thanadol observes cheerfully as you all see that the bridge has in fact exploded and is no longer there. The magic of the orb was clearly over zealous in carrying out its instructions.
You all now stand in the wide dark cavern with the river running from left to right before you and no clear way to cross. On the other side the cavern is shrouded in darkness and a single tunnel leads away to the north east.
Upon seeing the broken bridge, he looks to Thanadol "Well that was certainly a spectacular though we are now left with a quandary on how to cross" He looks to his physique and comments "There is no way I can jump such a gap. Should we climb down then cross the river and climb back up the other side?"
(OOC: I know the picture looks like a big gap, but by the map it seems to be about 5', so just asking which reality is the real reality?)
Skritch, who has a modest, but nevertheless actual, climb speed (OOC: climb = 10'), could climb the cavern walls and take a rope across so as to secure it on the far side to help people get across. Or if there was a high point that, when attached, would allow them to swing across? Something like that.
"Has any one of us thought to, er, bring 50' of rope?" Skritch asks. "I confess, I have not."
He's not exactly sure how this will get Sunhill across. But, as his hutchmaster used to say when they were on acorn patrol, "One problem at a time tusklings, one problem at a time..."
"Oh, oh, choose me! I have rope! I also have a bow and a crossbow! Barnabass Bombast once shot a rope across a river, just like this one! He then went hand over hand to cross the river. All the while, the mean orcs were shooting at him. He made it, just fine, don't you worry." Bedtime stories to the rescue, once again, at least in Dealuri's mind.
"Thanks, Dealuri. If I can't make it across we may well have to try your arrow thing, but I suspect that this has a, er, better chance of being secure than an arrow embedded to an, er, uncertain degree in an uncertain surface...
"Will someone tie off this end of the rope? Very good then.
"Wish me luck, all!"
And Skritch will take the other end of the rope and see if he can make his way by cavern wall and cave-roof to the other side where he can bring it over to the remains of the bridge (or whichever allows the shortest route across) and tie it as securely as possible.
(OOC he has a climb speed, so I don't think he needs a check, but if he does, here are some checks <fingers crossed> Acrobatics: 1+1=2 Athletics: 14+1=15)
Vakas watches Skritch get ready to go, then he casts mage hand, grabbing hold of one end of the rope, carrying it across to the other side. He loops it several times around one of the stone corners at the edge of the bridge, saying to Skritch “Tie that off, once you get there.” His mage hand returns to him and he works on securing the rope on this side, tying some really tight knots …
That are good for tying up hands and feet…
And he finishes securing the rope on this side of the bridge. When he sees Skritch complete his task, he says “Who wants to go first?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Vakas, can you hook up Sunhill's saddle over the rope then reattach it to him, and, er, augment it with a some rope loops then flying-fox Sunhill across to me?"
If they can, then Skritch will wait on the far side sending soothing thoughts to Sunhill the whole time.
OOC: I'd say about 10ft but that doesn't matter as you all dealt with it swimmingly.
With Vakas delivering the rope using mage hand and Skritch climbing over and tying it off securely you all make short work of this obstacle. Everyone except for Skritch roll an athletics check with advantage as you climb across on the rope. (DC 8, on a failure you falter and lose an item of your choice, on a natural 1 you slip and fall into the water) Vakas roll a sleight of hand check with advantage to see how secure Sunhill is as you feed him across the rope :)
Dealuri take inspiration. While you did not get to attempt the rope shot the stories of Barnabass Bombast take root in your mind and fill you with confidence.
Ember climbs across first, making short work of the passage, she does however lose her over large helm as it falls from her head half way and disappears into the dark waters below. In contrast Thanadol seems to take forever, firstly securing all of his items to ensure they do not go the way of Embers helm and then slowly, carefully he makes his way to the other side.
Vakas climbs across on the rope, pulling himself up on the other side with a flourish, then stands at the edge helping anyone else across, holding his arm out to pull them in.

Dealuri appears quite pleased with herself and everyone else for making it across. She pats on the head all beings shorter than her - Sunhill, Skritch, Ember, Rakas - then looks to the east and the remainder of the passage.
Like Sunhill, Skritch turns his head slightly this way and that, just to make sure Dealuri doesn't accidentally miss scratching behind his ears. One then the other.
While Skritch resets Sunhill's saddle straps and harness he rethinks a plan he had to scamper over and unattach the other end of the rope.
They might still need it for a fast exit. Depends what's ahead of them.
He looks up from the tack and harness to study the way ahead of them...
All safely across you make your way to the passage. As you grow closer the sound of rushing water gives way to a new cacophony. The crack of shattered rock, the heavy thud of something large moving in the cavern beyond and the terrifying roar that can only belong to...
"A dragon." hisses Ember, "It is a dragon."
Vakas roll for stealth as you scout forward. Peering into the chamber you see the great white beast perched above an arched door. It is clawing at the timbers in a rage and for the moment does not seem to have sensed the approach of the party.
