Krakan lets out a long sigh, tilting his head down. "See what I mean? There are some matters that are best discussed in private. I would believe that your esteemed office would understand such sensitivities..." Krakan lends his help to Lucian in his endeavor.
OOC - Ok. This is tricky I guess. Lucan is being deceptive (proficiency), also performing a bit here (not proficient), and trying to persuade (not proficient) through his scene to convince Kamran they might want to get to a private area before things get out of hand. Grin.

Salty continues to listen as his companions work an unusual angle to get information from Kamran. This is subtlety applied with a great club, he thinks to himself. Still, he was curious to see how the man responded to their combined efforts.

“Let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.” — Elrond
Kamran looks ready to call security but then he hears a suppressed giggle from the receptionist and then a smothered laugh from the other receptionist. Feeling embarrassed he points a finger in the air as if by will alone he can use it to stab Lucan. "You and rest of your vagabonds follow me now" Without looking back he briskly walks pass the receptionists and into the backroom conference room. Once everyone is in, he slams the door shut.
He then swiftly turns to Lucan and in a barely restraint shout "Who in all the bloody hells are you and do you know how hard I have worked to build a reputation of respectability and responsibility! Reputation in this business is absolutely vital! What you did out there will take me weeks to rectify!"
His dusty red skins turn a shade darker as Kamran is seething mad. Fire erupts along his hands. At first a burnt red in color and slowly changing to white hot fire.
It is clear now that Kamran al-Rashid is a Fire Genasi.
For an already hot day the temperature in the conference room jumps a few degrees hotter.
"With all due respect, sir; You were asked to take this into private and you refused. Any damage done was due to your staff and your own actions. We tried to spare you any indecency or embarrassment." Samir slightly bows his head in respect before continuing. "My friend here asked for discretion from your staff before you met with us."
Lucan looks around taking in the office as he tries to gather his thought and to see if Karman can gather themselves. Lucan bows to Karman then offering, "I understand you were previously employed by Malik. Someone we are familiar with. We believe there is more at stake here and we were hoping you might be able to shed some light on the matter? I apologize for the....cough....well, for the means of establishing this meeting. It is vital though. If you are a friend of Malik's? I hope you can help us. On the way out, I will and ask for forgiveness and explain it was someone else."

Kamran slams his fist on the table incredulous by what Samir said, "Excuse me! you make a scene because I refuse to drop my work to make time for you when you came with no appointment and then refuse to say why you came in the first place" he then looks to Lucan "Malik was a friend but I still don't know who you are. I have no reason to help you. Now fix this mess and get out!"
"Easy lad," Salty says to Kamran. "Me mates 'er good fer their word. We'd not be here fer less than words o' great importance. Let 'em says their piece, we're fer cleanin' this mess afore we go. Salty I'm called, on errand fer yer pal's ma we are."
Salty didn't see a productive end to the direction of the conversation. He hoped his words would calm the man long enough for his companions to begin digging into Malik's last cases.

Krakan walks to the edge of the table, crossing his ginormous arms, muscles causing the tattoos to ripple. “Yes, what he said. Sorry to have to do this this way. We are investigating Malik’s death. We understand that you were friends. We wanted to know if you noticed anything unusual about Malik, and when was the last time you saw him alive? We wondered if he ever spoke about any interesting cases to you, anything that he may have been working on, before he passed away.” He pauses and lets the man compose himself, rein in his anger. “Careful, you’ll burn a hole in that…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Lucan starts to boil inside, "You..............geez, I can't believe you. Ok, lets lay it all on the table Kamran. Malik saved my life, His mother wants us to prove he was kill. Now, if you are in on it we'll be back. If you have any dignity and you liked your old boss, and I think you love working with him for the cases he took were worthy cases to fighting for and winning even more. Now, lets all calm down."
OOC - Trying to be a bit more neutral and less confrontational here while playing Malik and Tyrese's (Lucan) familiarity and connection into it. Malik's mother as well. Hoping cool a real hot head down a bit.
Lucan scans the area for clues Kamran is either for or against Milak as he paces about a bit laying his spiel on the line.
Samir mutters to himself, "Eventually we will find someone in this town that will speak to us willingly and honestly." He looks at Kamran and waits for his response to Lucan.
Samir gets ready to cast Zone of Truth on the room to force honesty out of everyone.
Kamran jerks his hand away finally realizing he is leaving a burn mark on the table. He takes a few deep breaths and collects himself though he still looks quite irate. The fire goes out leaving wafting smoke in the air. "Yeah, he was one of a kind. I last saw him the night before he died at the old office. He was acting strange and kept looking out the window as if he was expecting someone to show up." He pauses in thought "I know about his last case it was concerning corruption within Shahr al-Layali Board of Spices." his lips moves as his mind goes to the past and he barely lets slip the name Ranya. "That is as far as I will reveal as it is quite improper of me to share any more information regarding a case that may still be active."
"Tiz plain fer all to see that ye respected the man. We asks that ye honor his memory now by sharin' all ye know. Yer name ain't fer bein' leaked by the likes o' us. Truth is all we seeks, truth fer givin' comfort to his grievin' ma, truth fer his mates," he pauses here, making sure he has the man's eyes, "and truth fer fetchin" justice fer the poor lad what seems to met a bad end."
Salty hopes that his words will grease the wheel for one of his companions to obtain more information.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC - Lucan will try his best, but he swings it around to a deception
Lucan slowly takes a breath and speaks softer, "Look Karman, I'm in with a big underground group." (Lie just with the folks here. grin) "We know something big is going on and we also thing the cool cat with the Inks who has plans to win some fancy title is probably in on it. Look you need to be real careful. If they got to Malik they may try to bust you up. Help us out to put an end to them before they come looking for you." (Partial lie perhaps We don't know anyone is coming) "We just want to get to the top of the rot pile before it stinks the whole city up."
Lucan Deception: 22 If the DM prefers it to be a persuasion check, I'll roll it if needed.

As I was filing, I came across a name Ranya. Perhaps Malik's contact." he begins pacing "3 names on the Board of Spices come to mind that Malik took an interest in though I am not sure who amongst these 3 is corrupt. Now you must be very careful with this information as spreading such news will come back to bite me and you if we are found interfering with an active case. If it is still active that is"
