Faron will go to Vaalu. "Do not worry I was there to make sure that they'd make the right decision. But if we want to succeed they have to realize it themselves even if it takes time to accept the dire truth. Wanna talk about your issues, not that I'm particular good in this stuff?"
Andres finds Alexander not knowing what state he will be in. “It’s a noble thing to end his suffering like that... to bear the burden. It’s the first step to bringing Torm’s justice to this land. How are you feeling?”
Vaalu had let go of Andres when the time came, and for her part kept a short distance back. She stayed at the ready however, having pulled down her night vision goggles and kept a hand ever near an axe. If Doru is visible at all during the exchange from her perspective, she kept a close eye on him with an expression partially obscured and otherwise devoid of emotion. Only once the deed is finally done does she allow the stiffness to her jaw and shoulders to ease away.
"... I appreciate what you are trying to do, little fox. But not now. Later. Over customary drink, perhaps." Is all she'll respond with after having initially huffed at the question.
------------
Despite her own feelings on the matter, when it comes to aiding in interring Doru, she lends her strength without even needing to be asked (unless someone else beats her to the punch). Vaalu is virtually wordless throughout the procession. If she lends her voice at all, it is in accompanying Andres with a funeral song, though in either Sylvan (if upbeat) or Giant (Opposite) to match the mood.

"You have endured a great deal Holy Man Donavich. But have stumbled all the same. If you wish to do your son any true honor, do not allow it happen again. You are a better man than that. Better than you give yourself credence." She states after the ceremony, but as soon as a moment allows for it. No secret is made of this. Nor is she soft about it in her tone. But looking up at her, any could see the hardness did not fully reach her face. Instead, she had that tired but sympathetic look of one who has is no stranger to the same sort of tragedy.
Having said her piece, she would not engage him further unless prompted to do so. And instead, he looks to Ireena and Ismark next with a much more stern but questioning look.

“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
“I don’t think Vaalu would let me to be honest. She comes across pretty harsh, but she is a good person. We can count on her.” Andres loads up into the wagon
Vaalu just quietly takes up her old position by the cart. After her whole storming out earlier, she hadn't the heart to meet folk's eyes. Not really. However, at least in passing she gave Alexander a brief but approving nod.

With the wagon now empty of the corpse, Brom hops onto it and sits next to Vaalu. He reaches into his pack and pulls out a bottle he got from the tavern. Pops the cork and hands it to Vaalu. "Here ya go, me friend" That is all Brom says to Vaalu. He just sits next to her. He looks over to Alexander and gives him a nod.

You all get you equipment organized and board the wagon. "Let us go, we should put as much distance as we can between us and Barovia before night settles upon us." You head down the road towards the setting sun. You can see Donavich behind you, saying a prayer for your safe travel.
You head down a well traveled road, the trees getting thicker on both sides of you as you travel. Some time after darkness comes you hear howls back from the direction of Barovia.
"Seems like another attack is happening. Not sure if we left just in time, or we left too early." Brom lets out a resigned sigh. He is unsure what if anything they could or should do for the town at this point. What he does know is that their path is forward if they want to get home. "We should keep our guards up. Those howls could be wolves and they may have our scent." Brom pulls the bottle of liquor from his pack again and uncorks it. He pours a line across the road where the wheel tracks are. "That might throw off our scent for a little while. Worth a shot anyhow."
Vaalu doesn't really even look as she takes up the bottle, and immediately starts to down it. "Hm. Have not been drink this much since special occasions back home." She idly comments on after downing half the contents of the bottle in one go. Then, there is a very unlady-like belch, followed by a lightly blushing giantess covering her mouth with one hand while passing the bottle back with the other.
---
"Mm~ Too early. I would've loved to try mettle against familiar foes. But, so long as it is only the one home, it is fine." Vaalu says, though sounding not as convinced by her own words. "Here. If you need more."She says, passing along one of her own wineskins to Brom. "

"Yeah, wait a second. Vaalu, wanna investigate?" Faron takes off his backpack and puts it on the cart. Picking up his short bow he gets ready to scout ahead with Vaalu indicating to go left towards the noise while motioning to Vaalu to circle right. "We should split but stay inside view of each other, while the rest follows slowly within hearing reach."
Vaalu looks to her cramped form, and then next to Faron. "Yes." She simply states dryly before giving a small smile of amusement. She takes only her armaments and hops out. Leaving her axes strapped to her sides, Vaalu readies her bow, and following a curt nod in agreement began wordlessly circling to the right. Before they can get too far from the waggon, she'll signal back for the others to stay back. Bad enough her own armor tended to shift noisily at times.

Some time goes by, the woods get thicker around you as you go, and the sky is black and starless. Up ahead you hear a little titter of laughter.

"Hey did ya hear that. Sounds like laughing. Not much to find funny around these parts, especially at night!" Brom stands up and readies his sword.
