Gale was a young man with blue windblown hair that turned teal at the ends, a pair of sharp and curvy horns, and a short figure. He carried a rapier and a lute, the steel of the rapier a shining silver, the wood of the lute a deep mahogany. He wore simple clothing, a tunic, a pair of baggy pants, a cloak that he had bought from one of his contacts. His skin was a pale blue, his eyes like bright sapphires, but the light in them was dull. Gale was broken. He knew he was broken.
As he stared over the railing down at the sea, he sighed to himself and brushed a hand through his oily hair. He hadn’t washed it in days-unless you counted the time when those thugs threw him into the ocean for trying to steal their food. Gale used to be a pirate, a man of glory, a man with a bounty. But four long years had passed-waiting in the shadows and watching, ready for the perfect timing. Except there was no perfect time. He didn’t know what he wanted.
And now, as he stared at the ocean, he couldn’t help but see his reflection in it, the reflection of a frowning man with wrinkles under his eyes despite his young age. Devil. Demon. Horror.

Tapping against the leg of their stained dress pants is their revolver, beautifully carved and handled with obvious love. They look over the railing, and down at the boat, observing how it seemingly breathes in and out with each wave. They shudder. If only Ma could see them now... Ah, no use reminiscing. There'll be time for that after they figure out what's up with this boat and whether or not they need to destroy it. Sighing, they stand up, and almost walk into Gale, reflexively reaching into their crimson vest for a knife while grasping their revolver, before relaxing.

The sea was obnoxiously beautiful that day. Gale Levias knew he should be amazed, but all he could do was grunt. The sea was obnoxiously beautiful every day.
Gale was a young man with blue windblown hair that turned teal at the ends, a pair of sharp and curvy horns, and a short figure. He carried a rapier and a lute, the steel of the rapier a shining silver, the wood of the lute a deep mahogany. He wore simple clothing, a tunic, a pair of baggy pants, a cloak that he had bought from one of his contacts. His skin was a pale blue, his eyes like bright sapphires, but the light in them was dull. Gale was broken. He knew he was broken.
As he stared over the railing down at the sea, he sighed to himself and brushed a hand through his oily hair. He hadn’t washed it in days-unless you counted the time when those thugs threw him into the ocean for trying to steal their food. Gale used to be a pirate, a man of glory, a man with a bounty. But four long years had passed-waiting in the shadows and watching, ready for the perfect timing. Except there was no perfect time. He didn’t know what he wanted.
And now, as he stared at the ocean, he couldn’t help but see his reflection in it, the reflection of a frowning man with wrinkles under his eyes despite his young age. Devil. Demon. Horror.
And then he turned around and walked away.

Tapping against the leg of their stained dress pants is their revolver, beautifully carved and handled with obvious love. They look over the railing, and down at the boat, observing how it seemingly breathes in and out with each wave. They shudder. If only Ma could see them now... Ah, no use reminiscing. There'll be time for that after they figure out what's up with this boat and whether or not they need to destroy it. Sighing, they stand up, and almost walk into Gale, reflexively reaching into their crimson vest for a knife while grasping their revolver, before relaxing.
