(OOC: Can I roll History to see what Rhys knows of the tribe of wind?)
Rhys closes his eyes for a moment and speaks a prayer for the woman as she passes. After that he will take the extra pendant that the woman gave the party.
“It seems this job just became more complicated. We need to be ready for whatever killed this woman to set their sights on us.”
Rhys will start trying to understand how the amulet works. In order to help this he will cast detect magic.
Shifting from the shadows, conspicuously without shovels, Yorcath sighs “Hate it when the messenger gets shot, never get all the info that way” Looking back at the other bodies, “Well guess there’s nothing for it but to collect the other medals. Anyone got a way the clean the stench off?”
(OOC: Normally I'd say yes. I'm only saying no because this is the first time in your characters' lives that you've ever heard of the tribe of wind)
Detect magic reveals that the pendants are magic items. Attuning to the pendants allows you to cast gust of wind and wind wall twice each per long rest and control winds once per long rest
(OOC: I'm still working on making the magic item on dnd beyond. It's difficult to do)
The spell also reveals to the name of the pendants: Thousand Wind Pendant
Zherzire was just about to speak to Gale when the arrow hits her. Stunned a moment, she quickly looks and sees that the Genasi is gone. When it's clear the assassin is gone, she examines the amulet she carries. "I think cleaning will just take lots and lots of water. Maybe boiling water."
Rhys stops himself from chuckling at Yorcath's words. Rhys speaks a little louder than he normally would and attempts to search the area for any trespassers.
Perception Roll: 13
“Very true my friend. With preparation I can ask her 5 questions tomorrow. I think it might be best to get more information if possible.”
Aubrik curses in Orcish as the Genasi female is shot with the arrow, and takes up a defensive stance looking around into the darkness as he considers what she said. And the fact the others seem to be buying into the idea of taking the pendants.
"You listen to dead female? Pendant have necromantic symbol, Zherzire said. Why? If dead female gave pendant before, we not first she asked for help. Not turn out well for others. This make no sense. Not trust dead female", he states flatly.
He looks to Rhys, "Not sure how can ask questions, but think it good you do".
"I cover, one grab dead female, one get dead female things. We go back to camp now", he directs in a way that suggests he has been used to giving orders before. Not that anyone here has to obey of course.
As Aubrik issues the orders, Zherzire puts up a hand. "Hold on a moment. Let's see if this woman, Gale, is carrying anything. It would be nice to know a little bit more about her." She kneels near the body, going through what she might have been wearing or carrying. (Investigation: 9) Once she's had a look, she then nods to the half-orc. "Alright, let's go." She collects what she can and heads back to the came, hoping someone else can take the body.

“Y’know, Aubrik has a point right? Like the corpses that just collapsed around us had the same pendant as this messenger gave us, and the state of all of them is the same, dead” Yorcath skips along beside them as the head back to the campfire, “Would it be better served to ask the other dead ones how they got mixed up in thewhole thing in the first place?”
Zherzire focuses on getting the Genasi's body and belongings back to the camp as Aubrik had suggested. Once that is done, she sees about getting some clean water in heating it in a pot over the fire. Actually, she gets a number of pots of water, these amulets are going to take a lot of cleaning. "Yorcath, a good suggestion but we will have to talk to Rhys about what would work. If I had to choose between talking to the Genasi woman or these rotting folks, I think I'd go with the Genasi. She at least seemed to have some idea what was happening. Do you suppose she somehow caused these people to come here? I do hope she's not the one that was holding them."
"I'm also curious about the necromantic part of those amulets," she adds. Once she has a moment, she will work on studying the inscription and even cast Detect Magic as a ritual if that will help. (Arcana: 8)
Rhys contemplates the suggestions of his companions for a minute before responding.
“I believe we were all fated to fight against this chaos. As such I see no benefit in hoarding my magic without the input of others. Sadly my magic is limited by the state of the body. If the corpse does not have a mouth or it was undead when it died we cannot call upon it for questioning. It is highly possible that the unfortunate souls back at the camp were and thus would not be able to be reanimated. I would be able to talk to 5 corpses per day but it would leave me unable to give substantial help if danger arose.”
As he said he would, Aubrik covers the groups return to the camp, making sure he and his shield are positioned to protect them as best he can.
"Best not light us up", he suggests to Rhys, motioning to his magically enhanced lantern, hoping he will cover it.
He constantly scans the distance for signs of any hostiles, hoping that his darkvision will allow him to detect them before they can see him.
When back at the camp, he contemplates the words of Yorcath, Zherzire and Rhys. Speaking with the dead is a little beyond his area of expertise, so he simply nods along.
"Look like only have one to talk to", he says looking at the mush of the de-animated corpses. "Best you rest now, Rhys. Sooner talk to dead female, better. All need rest, but need set watch of own. Other guards, not trust", he says, obviously not happy to rely on whatever watch the caravan had set under the circumstances.
"Will take first watch", he offers when people are ready to turn in. For that he will keep his longbow to hand.
"I'll take whichever watch you folks want me to," Beshlog says."So I guess second works fine for me."
Beshlog takes a moment to cast mage armor on himself using his pact slot, activating his Arcane Ward in the process. If a watch is an hour long, he should be able to take a short rest during Aubrik's watch and get back that pact slot.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Detect Magic only reveals what you previously knew about the magic items. You would need to translate the inscriptions and piece them together with the conjuration inscriptions.
Is the collective agreement everyone takes turns on watch? If so, decide amongst yourselves how you are going to factor in long and short rests into your nights.
