Trusting in her old friend's instincts, Perspicacious moves to the back and tries to take in the scene, looking for a way to assist as the crab attacks.
I'm going to Perceive (+1 Forward): 8
She narrows her eyes and twitches her whiskers, examining the crab for a soft spot that she can shoot an arrow at, or guide the others too.
Perspicacious quickly points out the blind spot and the eyes to those near her, then scurries on all fours to get around and behind the creature for a shot with her bow, hoping that the bear mouse on its back will keep it from noticing her.
When appropriate, I'd like to use my guerilla tactics to inflict 2 harm on the crab. Guerilla Tactics: When you attack from ambush, or from behind, don't roll. Inflict 2 harm (ignore armor) regardless of weapon strength and take no harm.
Cordelia sees her allies trying to move into position to harm this foul beastie. She will attempt to draw the creature's attention to herself by squeaking and waving her arms like crazy, hopefully helping in the subsequent attacks.

The crab is thoroughly dispatched by the Long Patrol (one day you'll face an enemy that lasts more than one round!). You all take a moment to rest and inspect your wounds. Amazingly, only Baobur suffered any harm (1 harm- this is recovered during this short rest). Jean suffered a mighty blow (potentially dealing 2 harm) from the beast's claws, but her armor protected her completely. And Perspicacious dealt a cunning strike from behind... you all have gotten quite good at quickly adapting to new bodies.
(This seems like a good time to note that time will move more quickly in this particular leap...)
Later in the day, you are met by Rowan, a Farstride Ranger from the Forest Abbey
Rowan, Perspicacious suddenly realizes, is the sixth member (and leader) of their party. He greets you with a grunt, barely noting the dead crab in the middle of your campsite. "They made it this far already, huh? Ah, well."
The ranger clearly knows you all well, but he keeps himself removed from the group. Night begins to fall soon after his arrival. After taking his share of a few nuts and berries, he moves to take first watch outside of the circle of the fire.
Opportunity to get intel from Rowan here. Or we can move along!
Rowan grunts. "Looking? Things are looking bad." He continues to peer outward into the darkness, dispassionate and alert. "We are making poor time through these woods. Too much debris from last spring's storms blocks the paths I once knew. Once our dashers hatch," he pats a large cloth sack full of round objects at his side, "We'll move faster, but even then it will be days yet before we make it to Viper Lake."
He looks at you, Gordra, "You are not usually so talkative, Lord Commander. To be frank, I do not know why you are here. Is the training of one small tenderfoot so important that it would draw you from retirement?"
(The rest of you are free to RP (in fact, I hope you will!) a little here. How have you been adapting to these leaps? How have your relationships changed? Feel free to invent tales about the leaps you've experienced! This is your story, too)
Cordelia thinks about the giant crab they fought today and about their new bodies. This was a furry world. She smirked as she thought of her ex-roommate, Sasha. A crazy girl with annoying tendencies like never doing a damn dish. Sasha would have died to come to a world like this and live out her fantasies. Too bad, Sasha, I'm the mouse now. Cordelia has a happy expression on her face of pure joy just thinking of all the fun she is having without Sasha. These moments don't last long as she is constantly thinking of what to do next, but something about being a tiny mouse seemed to free up her thoughts.

(Luna, as you think on your old roommate you feel a flash of intense emotion. You are usually unflappable, if sometimes a touch sarcastic. Now, though, you feel a flush enter your cheeks and an unexpectedly hot anger at the memory of that *******.)
The first time Jean had jumped she - and indeed almost the entire group - had lost the contents of her stomach, the second time she had simply dry heaved. Now apart from a brief moment of vertigo she seemed to have gotten used to the multiversal displacement. A good thing given how often they seemed to be thrust into combat before getting their bearings in a new reality.
Amaruve feels a pull from his occupied body and mind. A desire to talk... A lot, to perform... He can't resist, he stands up and tells a tale. Never before have you heard Amaruve speak at such length:
"Imagined seniority. Gained maturity. Lost imagination."
(An important note: I don't roll in this game. I tell you what is happening and you react. Also, while there aren't explicit saving throws...)
You all make it through the night. You spend the next day traveling through the forest, and you make it through that night, too. The gate took nearly a week to appear in your third leap, so you aren't concerned... yet.
Local potentiality remains fixed like a compass at 92%. Luna studies the stardust, though she seems distracted. For the first time ever, she is seen on occasion without it in her hands. She's not alone: none of you are quite yourselves. Maybe you simply feel more ingrained in these bodies than you ever have before. You feel more comfortable in the skin of mice than you've felt in the skin of other humanoids. In fact, that strange visual overlay of your own bodies seems to be less noticeable here.
(Gordra, I'd like you to roll Planar knowledge with 2d6+Mind. Take an additional +1 for Baobur's thrilling story. If you get a 6 or a 9, Cordelia or Perspicacious can take the help action to attempt to give you another bump)
While Cordelia spends more time away from her device, Gordra begins to tinker with it here and there. In the process, he notices a meter that has been bothering him since the second leap. After running through a number of theories, he determines that this must be an indicator of the time remaining until the next gate appears. That, combined with Cordelia's innate knowledge of the gate's location when it does materialize, relieves a significant weight of stress. As of now, the meter does not indicate that the gate will appear any time soon.
On the third day in this world, Rowan returns to your party mid-hike from a scouting run. He reports that a riverside shrew colony is up ahead; this would be an ideal chance to restock your dwindling supplies. Something seems off, however, and he thinks it would be wisest to approach in two groups: one from the north and one from the south.
(ehhhhh, maybe not. You're not near enough the other group, whoever that is, to direct them once you separate, and your two parties aren't big enough to make that work. I think of "General" as being employed more for explicit battle plans, not just lining up ranks. I like where your head's at, though!)
