The good news is that the fish hook snagged on Baobur's breastplate, Cordelia! Amazingly, it found a loop in the plating and secured the large mouse to your forearm, around which you've wrapped your line tightly.
The bad news is that, in the process of chasing Baobur to the water's edge, you tripped over a small stone and fell into unexpectedly deep and fast water. It is dark and autumn cold. You don't have too much trouble staying afloat, but the current is tumbling you and Baobur too quickly to make your way to the shore. A rock appears in the stream directly in front of you...
Gordra looks around for his companions and sees Tevii get pulled into the moving stream. He's runs, trying to ignore the blinding pain in his leg, towards a spot a bit downriver from Tevii. He leaps to the ground near the edge of the stream, holding out his walking stick with both hands, trying to give her something to grab on to as the current carries her by.
(actually, the inspiration was used while he was unconscious to draw his magic out and heal his wounds. I'm not sure what perception roll you're referring to here, BD, but the good news is you get to Mark another box of experience, Shaz!)
**EDIT: I see his "sense" roll from earlier, now. However, I don't see that the hold was ever spent to ask a question! Regardless, it wouldn't apply to this situation anymore. If you like, Shaz, you can spend that hold now to act a question and potentially get +1 ongoing while acting on it.
Perspicacious is relieved to still be alive, but dismayed that the large creature didn't seem to be the least bit hurt by her attack. She tries to get an idea of where it is going, and what it picked up as it left.
Sense: 13
Hold 2: How can we help most? Where is my enemy now (going)?
Help: the townsfolk are scared and confused, but the major threat is gone. The fire is almost under control. If you're asking how to help your friends, you need to find them- fast. Shrews are river folk; there are boats aplenty...
Enemy: You have no idea what the creature picked up as it fled. You noticed it was favoring the paw injured by Baobur, however. Given what you know about predators, it is almost certainly heading back to its den (which can't be too close to Riverside)
Baobur's mind swims. He feels like something's carrying him... That monster maybe. He struggles to hold onto life. Something is pulling him. His hand touches the metal fixed through the loops of his armor. A blade? A hook? He tries to free himself but he can't lift his arms. All the world feels distant, a spec of light in the distance with blackness closing in from all sides, pressing against him. He feels like he's drowning in a river...
Perspicacious will give up on the beast, letting it escape, and turn and run to the river to help rescue the others by doing what she knows how to do best. Giving people orders.
She says to the nearest shrews, "You, stop standing there, gather the boats! Find those mice that went in the river! They're hurt. Now!"
Coerce: 9 Attempting to convince them of the importance of rescuing these mice in particular. More eyes and boats means we find them faster.
(I'm totally down with whatever you all decide to do. Jean, if your priority is assisting the townfolk, you can do that. I have a feeling Joja is conflicted about pursuing the monster vs finding baobur, either of which would be great. I can't imagine elodin wants to do anything but find Cordelia... I'm good with up to four storylines (for a little while)!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
**sorry, i posted a second ago but it was a very d&d re-action, and not right for this game, i deleted it.**
Gordra see Perspicacious running up and giving orders to the shrews. In an attempt to make it easier to see them he closes his eyes and attempts to draw upon his draconic ancestry. Looking out in to the rushing water he attempts to cast light on Teviis hook and rope, so they don't lose track of them in the dark.
Magic: 10
Effect: Briefly create a realistic sonic OR visual illusion (moments) Glitch: You take 1-harm ignore-armor. (i take some kind of psychic damage from trying to do this, my eyes bleed a bit )
(if I remember correctly, you still have harm from before: you weren't healed entirely. I believe additional harm would knock you out- do you want another glitch?)
(I have good news and bad news)

**missed that post I guess, my question would be: How can we help most? And the answer was dive like a madman towards the river, right?**
(Haha, the answer would have been and remains: You need to find a way to get downriver quickly)

Jean puts the wounded shrew on one of the waiting river boats and goes back to find anyone else who might be in danger, party mates or townsfolk.
