Amaruve carries [Tina] over to one of the smoke creatures, and watches for a moment before he joins in, spitting bright orange flames into the air.  Acooff!

(Performance: 5) people scream as the playful bear suddenly starts breathing fire...

(Who's well trained now!?)

(you have no way of knowing whether they're sentient! They resemble black oily salamanders)

Looking the bear’s antics over, Tony leans over to the group, “A word of warnin’. While I and my baby sister here may find your bear delightful, I don’t think the Iron Guard will be so... open-hearted. It would be best for you to corral him before their patience runs out. I imagine that wouldn’t work well for your, eh... Circus?”

With people apparently upset with his display Amaruve looks back to his party who appear to be looking meaningfully in his direction, most notably Kyo... 

He lopes back over to them and begins to shrink down as he reaches the table. As [Tina's] feet touch the ground his diminution becomes more sudden. Baobur hops up onto the table and watches Kyo attentively.

Kyo squeezes his eyes shut and grips the tabletop in front of him. "Hey, gang- I don't want to be rude, but our friend is gonna be here any second now. It would really be great if we had a little privacy."

"That so? I would love to make their acquaintance." Lil' Big Tony snaps his fingers to the owner goblin, "Tonio, a moment of privacy for the folks who have entertained my dear sister." Tony adds a little something extra in goblin at the end.

With Duchess lazily laying on her lap, Cordelia carefully watches this goblin. It would appear some of the others have taken to scrutinizing him too. She listens quietly, as usual, and then speaks. "Sorry, Lil' Big Tony," she addresses him with his full given name completely unsure of how goblin naming customs are in this plane, "we didn't mean to cause alarm with our pet bear. He was the pet of a... late friend of mine." The human's neutral face betrays her ever so slightly at the mention of the late friend. It would seem painful to pry, perhaps. "We are just meeting our friend to wrap up some loose ends if you don't mind."

The goblin takes note of you using his name. He will still do an insight: 23

The goblin’s face hardens a little bit, not in hostility, but perhaps understanding. “My condolences. I know the feeling too well. In respect for your pain, allow me to be frank. I am unsure of what to make of you all. I have never seen any of you in this territory, if I had, I’d ‘ave remembered you. You show up with a bear -scratch that- mouse, apparently, in a suit. Your Tabaxi’s eyes start glowing and he starts talking about how you all don’t ‘ave a lot of time before your friend shows up. A friend who, I get the feeling, you aren’t being totally honest about. So, I say all this with a simple question, what’s about to go down? You tell me that, I get out of your hair. I just need to know.”

 You all have just a moment for this to sink in: Lil' Big Tony is the first person ever to have noticed Kyo's glowing blue eyes.

Then Kyo chuckles, "No need to wonder, little goblin friend. He's-"

"...here." Says Vasht, speaking through Kyo (whose eyes are shining blue torches, now). “That was excellent! Wonderfully done! I was watching just before the leap as usual. Things were awful for a moment there, but you pulled it off!” You have undoubtedly noticed that Vasht is much less otherworldly and mysterious with Kyo as his mouthpiece. 

“Now, for this world, I’m afraid that I can’t help you quite as much. It looks like something… happens. Something that hasn’t happened in ages… happens here. And it’s… bad.” Kyo’s ears flatten a bit against his head and Vasht adopts an apologetic tone. “That’s not very helpful, is it? This world has more peace than any I've ever seen, but that makes what's coming even worse, in a way." Vasht shakes Kyo's head. "There's a way to help these people, but the path isn't clear to me. Everything is just a big fuzzy blur. Too many loose ends, and there’s a-“ Kyo’s eyes widen, the blue light flaring brightly. “Oh! There’s someone…” He looks at Lil' Big Tony. “Can you... Can you hear me, goblinkind?”

Lil’ Big Tony blinks, muttering, “I was not ready for today...” Tony shakes himself, “Yep, I can hear you fine... cat? Is this still the cat? Cause I ain’t sure that this is still a Tabaxi.”

"Fascinating," says the angel, narrowing Kyo's eyes. "You seem to be at the heart of the trouble here. Are you the source of it, or a way through the woods?" The nimbus of blue light begins to fade from the cat. “That’s it for me, gang. Any quick questions before I’m gone?”

Baobur tries to avoid danger (Dex: 7, adv. Danger Sense) 

Tony raises a finger, "I have several questions. Including, but not limited to, 'Why is there a talking cat with burning blue eyes telling me that some bad stuff is gonna go down,' "What is said bad stuff,' again let's cycle back to, 'Why is the cat on fire,' and last but certainly not least, 'Who. Are. You. People.' If we can get one of those taken care of, I'll be a happy chum."

Baobur squeaks angrily as Duchess pounces on him. He shoulda taken that paw... On droping to 0 HP Baobur reverts back into a bear. Sitting flat on top of Duchess before the table collapses under his weight. (I assume)

(Don't take my narrative from me!)

Duchess does indeed pounce, Baobur. However, she merely pins you to the table, her pink nose sniffing deeply at you as she recalls your shared time on the island.

Kyo smiles at the duchess' antics and at the goblin's questions. "They have told you who they are, Tony. They are-"

"... Lost," says Kyo as the last of the light fades away.

“You know what I meant, blue boy!” However, the goblin huffs, “Oh yeah, I’m pretty lost here alright.” Tony sits down at the table and pinches the bridge of his large nose as he waves his hand about, “Alright, fill me in! What has my generosity gotten me into now!”
