 Perspicacious follows Amaruve's lead. "I was really hoping to not have to give up weapons. Here's hoping it doesn't want them all. Hello door, we're all friends here." She takes her extra dagger out of her bag, and places it on the ground by the other dagger, then settles her hand in the blue circle. "Whoever's last has to put their face in the middle space!" she chides the group.

Perspicacious, nothing happens at all when you and Amaruve place your daggers in front of the door. As you place your hand on the blue oval, however, you feel a deep thrum move through your arm and the oval begins to softly glow. It seems to be made of sapphire, you now realize, and you watch with growing amazement as what appears to be water churns within it...

If you remove your hand, the light fades. Placing it once more on the circle causes the same effect. It still seems to be waiting for something.

Tony puts his hand on the yellow space.

The moment Amaruve touches the oval, he realizes that it's made of a single piece of perfectly cut ruby. It thrums like the other two at his touch and he sees what appears to be dark, vibrant clay oozing within it. 

(btw, updated the oval colors to correctly match the symbols above them...)

Jean places her hand in the green emerald panel, and feels a thrum and witnesses a rush of air fill the gemstone.

Cordelia places her face in the center panel, extremely hesitantly, but absolutely nothing happens. 

Those of you with hands on the gate continue to feel that steady thrum, but nothing happens. 

The Terminator skull buzzes again, and Fiorello translates. "It says you all must offer your weapons now. You have to offer the right weapon to the matching panel... I'm sorry, I don't know exactly what that means!"

Amaruve lifts his paw and moves to Tony, nudging him aside. He puts his paw in the yellow space and offers his weapon. Acooff!

Amaruve, you breathe fire into the panel. It shines brightly and the corresponding symbol above it begins to glow.

However, you feel a draining sensation and the fire cuts out abruptly. Your connection to Gaia suddenly feels even weaker!

(You can no longer cast spells, Amaruve!)

Jean scowls at the skull and puts her lips close to it's 'ear holes'. "Skynet lost. John Connor won. The time machine got blown up. Everything you do from now on is utterly futile, so lose the attitude." She said to it before she put her hand on the door. As Fiorello translated she looked to the others to see which, if any of the of the places her own included, seemed to say 'place sword here.'

Investigation: 22

(let's call that an insight roll) With your roll and the events that just transpired, Jean, you get the sense that offering your sword might be the right call. The oval is just a little wider than the hilt of your tower blade...

The skull buzzes again. 

"The skull has deciphered the last line," Fiorello says. "It reads,

'Fire burns, wind cuts, water drowns, Earth buries, the mind governs all'"

Jean nodded sagely and 'offered her blade to the wind'.

Tony, the Ruby panel shines brightly and you experience the same draining sensation Amaruve felt. All of your ki points are zapped!

Kyo attempts to channel his power into the blue panel, but after several attempts, his magic has no effect. Fiorello sighs. "I think 'water' may refer to healing magic, specifically. If I may, master Kyo?"

The aarakocra places a wing on the sapphire and mutters an invocation. A holy white light flares around him, which is slurped into the gemstone oval. The water symbol glows blue, and the central faceplate lights with a rainbow aura. 

(Fiorello is no longer able to heal! Perspicacious, the faceplate rejects anyone else who tries to offer their corresponding "weapon"; looks like it's up to you!)

Perspicacious, finally catching on, places her face in the groove, and offers up her mind to the door, placing the Empty Bow against it for good measure.
