Inside is a rolled up paper that looks brown and worn with age. as you try to take it out it crumbles a bit from your touch. Give me a sleight of hand to very carefully take it out and unroll it.
It looks like a map, badly faded and badly deteriorated with time. It comes out of the tube easily but begins to fall apart as you unroll it, It looks like it was a map.
Give me a...history check? or just Intelligence or something to try to glean some kind of useful information from the pieces that you manage to recover.
**I'll give you the option to either give up on the map or spend some time trying to piece it back together, but with that roll it'll take you a few hours. It's like a puzzle now. and I'll roll to see if any shit happens while you are waiting. You do still have a bluish grey liquid in a bottle, 25 gold pieces, and a small blue polished stone from the bag, and you can go check downstairs.**
As you toss the stone down to the ground it instead arcs wide into the air. It takes a spin around the room before coming close to you and taking an orbit around your head.
coming down the stairs you see a room that looks like it used to be a tavern, there are broken tables and tipped over stools laying around. As your foot hits the last step, the stone floating around your head stops in mid-air, glowing slightly, and drawing your attention to the front door.
Twitch zips back upstairs and peers out the window to the front door. He sees a pair of Kobolds standing outside the door, trying to get in and growling some language to each other.
So you fell loudly behind the bar, but you are now hidden, the door is locked from your side and the kobolds haven't unlocked it yet, but they're trying. Twitch is up on the 2nd floor watching them for you.
You might be able to go up and out the way you came in, or you could wait til they make it inside, or burn the whole building down. Your call.
**if you dismiss it for a long rest worth of time. I think it would be too OP if you could dismiss and call him back any time to get him back to full.**

The map is too faded and crumbled to make out any interesting details.

lol sorry I took the day off work so I have not been as active today.
Dice will gove up on the map and check out the stone
arcana 11
You drop the map sprinkles on the ground and look at the stone, "Thisss..... is a stone..." you say to yourself.
Dice will throw the obviously worthless stone on the ground and head downstairs.
As you toss the stone down to the ground it instead arcs wide into the air. It takes a spin around the room before coming close to you and taking an orbit around your head.
Dice will look at it a moment, his head spinning as he tries to watch the stone before shrugging and continuing downstairs.
coming down the stairs you see a room that looks like it used to be a tavern, there are broken tables and tipped over stools laying around. As your foot hits the last step, the stone floating around your head stops in mid-air, glowing slightly, and drawing your attention to the front door.
Dice, not sure what the floating stone does will assume this is a warning and attempt to hide behind the bar.
stealth 19
You trip over the leg of a chair that you didn't notice and tumble loudly behind the bar, knocking a glass to the floor which shatters beside you.
You here a voice on the other side of the door, asking something inquisitively. It jiggles the handle of the door, but it is locked.
Dice will instruct the invisible twitch to fly up the stairs and out the window and tell him who is outside.
Twitch zips back upstairs and peers out the window to the front door. He sees a pair of Kobolds standing outside the door, trying to get in and growling some language to each other.

(so if I dismiss and then call my familiar back, does it get full health?)
