You slip back upstairs and just as you get to the window, you hear a crack as the kobolds downstairs finally get the door open. You're able to slip through the window and make it downstairs without being heard, and land safely on the ground as the two kobolds look around inside.
Dice takes off into the woods, with Twitch flying right behind him. He comes across a few more buildings that have long ago crumbled to almost nothing, but he's having trouble locating the entrance to the tomb, and continually spots kobolds stalking through the forest searching as well.
Let's do some rolls and see how this all plays out, instead of doing a building by building walk around.
Roll me some delicious Survival, History, Perception, Investigation, Nature, and Stealth. And I'll paint you a little word picture, kind of like a one man skill challenge.
**/e you can have Twitch help you with two of them, if you can tell me how he helps**
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OH GAWD! I will ask twitch to help me with investigation, asking him to fly around the ruins and working his body into any tiny spaces that I cannot fit into and help me with survival, helping to point out clues in the terrain, flying above the trees, Identifying paths and things that I cannot see from the ground.
Twitch flies up above the trees, allowing you to get a bird's eye view of the sunken forest, and figure out where the buildings are that you've explored so far, and pointing out areas that might be useful to explore. You are able to keep your distance from the kobold encampment as well as the few that are searching the town with you.
You try to use the map you have as well as the fragments you saw in the tavern to try to piece together where you should look but you don't have enough information to go on.
Eventually through almost sheer luck, you stumble on a rock that's jutting out of the ground. You are about to just ignore it and continue on, but you look down and realize that it is too smooth and angular to be naturally occurring. You brush off some dirt and leaves to reveal a square stone slab that has the same Crescent Moon symbol you've seen many times carved into the slab.
You make your way down the stairwell into a long stone corridor. The walls are smooth and look well crafted, there are sconces along the wall about every 20ft that could be lit, and a thick layer of dust on the ground. The corridor stretches off further then you can see in the dark, but about 40 feet down you can see a wooden door on the right side.
got ya,
Dice will try to sneak up the stairs and back out the door while instructing Twitch to rustle some nearby leaves behind the kobolds to distract them.
roll stealth with advantage
Dice stealth 21 20

Dice will attempt to quickly run into the woods towards the next largest building he can see that he has not yet explored.

Dice will touch the slab and if it doesn't move he will try to lift it.
Nothing happens when you touch it, so you give it a shove and it slides out of the way revealing a staircase heading underground.
Dice will quickly head down with twitch and close the slab back up behind him before pulling out a torch and lighting it.
