this is a game

Pip keeps wandering closer, at first alarmed by the sound of the bear and the threat to the group, but now very interested in hearing this from Mellow.  “Fascinating!  How did you do that… I’m glad the bear is on our side!  Let’s keep exploring, looking for the headwaters I guess.  Which way?”  He bends down to investigate the bullywugs, to see if there is anything of interest or any clues there.

Mellow smiles at Pip's excitement.  "As a cleric of Nature, I was given certain Divine skills, one being the ability to charm animals and plants.  Sadly, it does not last long so I had to use a spell.. which will last a single day.   If we live that long, I shall have to decide if our bear friend wishes to stay or go on his way."

"But yes, we should continue...  though, it appears we are missing a member?"

Yuki goes down the tunnel.

Suri has been staring at bear with intrest. After a while she says, "I like him, but will he fit in the narrow tunnel with us?"

"There's another tunnel to the northeast.  (OOC- the one directly Northeast of the bear) Looks wide enough for the bear, and I'm curious about what it leads to. I'll take him and explore a bit," says Charles.

"Are you certain it is wise to split the party in unknown caverns and tunnels?"  Mellow kind of gives a shrug before continuing.

He uses his 'Speak of Beast and Leaf' ability to explain to the bear their options.  How they will try the narrow path and - hopefully - the bear can go with Charles along the wider path... with a chance of meeting further up the tunnels.

Bear snorts ... but then again, Mellow's ability lets him speak TO the beasts and plants but does not allow him to understand responses.   ** fingers crossed **

"There are 6 of us, 7 if you include Sir von Bearington, which I do. You can come with, and that'll make 3. 4 can go check out the other path." says Charles, making puppy dog eyes at Mellow.
