(Now I am not saying they did or did not go to the woods... people saw them head towards the river / trees in-between the inn and the docks... and Payne thinks that she lost them at the docks... I just didn't know if people wanted to see / verify if they actually left town... maybe they have a safe house within black oak... maybe they have an underground tunnel leading under the river... maybe they have an air balloon hidden in the trees just on the edge of town... maybe they have a submarine hidden at the docks... Maybe they killed payne and chip and desquised themselves as them! I just didn't know if you wanted to try to see where / which way they went in town.. not necessarily tracking them to any kind of camp)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sayre is definitely trying to persuade not intimidate towns folk!!
"I am not one of you but still I fight. It's your town! Not theirs. They mean to scare you, to run you off but if you stand and join us now we can stop them," Sayre says.
*Channeling Morgan Freeman in Prince of Thieves castle wall speech*
Navek grimaces, as not perusing people is what almost got their house burned to the ground. Yet, Sayre is practically gearing to go along with the other youths. After all is said and done and knowing Thimbol needed the rest judging by the roughed up appearance, Navek just sighs in defeat. "Alright. Guess you were with me for a bit then, Mo. If either you and Lora can at least show me what you guys got back from the camp, and we can scrap up a list of a few things to have built while Blitzen is at as far as repairs." Navek expresses. "Afterwards, one or both of you can join Sayre in recruiting folks. I need to talk to Thimbol in the meantime. Maybe even do some light scout'n to make sure they ain't holding up loosely within town. We don't need another Mo incident." Navek grins cheekily at the other goliath.
In the PM is the list he'll put together if information is passed to him about the camp at all. Otherwise, he'll only put in an order for a kitchen, indoor plumbing, and lab one, seeing them as the most useful.

So Sayre and the guards start to make their way around town, but most of the people roaming the streets right now are those that don't want to work or are too old to do so. Many of them don't seem to care much about the bloodscales one way or the other because they either don't have anything that they think the bloodscales would want to take from them.. or are too scared of them to want to stand up and fight against them. As the tiefling and guards make their way around, they do attract the attention of a hobo dining on an old loaf of bread in a trash can behind Gwens Goods. "Hey! Do ya get clean clothes and get paid money for being a guard?" The hobo will say wiping the moldy breadcrumbs form his stubbly face before scratching the backside of his torn up overalls with nothing but a bit of chest and back hair on him as his shirt. "I walk around this town all day anyway! I might as well get paid for it!" The hobo will say scampering over to the three of you after sticking the moldy loaf of bread down the back of his overalls to keep for later.
A few minutes after Sayre, Chip, and Gus leave the inn... The mayor arrives, knocking on the door before walking in and examining the place. "My goodness what happened here? I came by to make sure you all got the reward money you were owed for clearing out that bloodscales camp for us... but uh... I guess maybe you missed a couple?.." The Gnome will say as he removes his top had and carefully places it on the table. "Sheriff Payne stopped by my office and gave me a brief summary of what happend... I have no problem paying for any repairs needed for the inn if you like, and speaking of money..." Mr. Higgins will pull a large bag from his side and sit it on the table. "600 gold should do for the work you all put in taking care of those bloodscales in the camp.... Also, If you want fancy stained glass windows to replace the stained glass you lost... Father Bryon may have some old ones he would be willing to part with...
"Thanks Mayor, yeah we ran into an evil witch and some evil birds. We shewed them off, with a few cuts and bruises, small amount of fire damage, you know, the usual. I can't seem to remember how to put fools to sleep anymore... I should try to figure that out again some time."
The mayor will nod along as Mo gives him a breakdown of what happened. "Well putting creatures to sleep sounds lame.. I wouldn't worry about that spell" He will say with a smile, adjusting his while looking around the room inspecting the damage. "I will speak with Blitzen and inform him that I will be paying for the repairs to the inn and instruct him to recuit as many helpers as needed to get the repairs done in a timely manner" the gnome will say with a finger raised "If you can describe to me what the two of them looked like, I can try to get some wanted posters created in case they try to sneak into town again.."
Walt, who has been hanging out the inn most the day now constructing the forge, putting out the fire, and now assisting with cleanup will nod to the mayor. "I will make sure this place is cleaned up in no time... although I don't think I will be able to have a crew together until tomorrow at least" The dragonborn will say rubbing the top of his head while wiping some ash from his scales. Then turning to the group he would look at those still in the room. "if you have any upgrades you would like done, I can try to do them at the same time.. construction should be able to go faster if I have a team of people and I will have to move stuff around anyway as part of the repairs" Blitzen will say shifting his attention between you and the mayor.
(yeah, he arrived a few minutes after you left... or if you want to since it doesn't really matter I can say he arrives shorty after you return from your attempt to recruit others, I was just seeing if anyone was going to assist you try to get more people :D)
"Mayor thanks for the bounty but frankly this isn't a task we can handle. The town will soon be overrun I fear and we will all be dead as a result. Tne Bloodscales are not gone. We must have killed off a small band while the larger one thrives elsewhere," Sayre explains in a firm tone. "I believe the entire village needs to rally to survive," she adds.

"We'll have to talk to him later than about the glass." He mentioned, stirring from his own thoughts. Navek lets out a deep, throaty chuckle. "More like unsportsman-like, but useful."He comments on the spell. After, he went off to grab some papers and ink from the office. While others talke he starts writing down both a list of description for the two, and a separate rough list of potential upgrades on a separate sheet. He stopped for a second, and narrowed his eyes at Sayre. But afterwards with a grimace, he goes back to writing.
Towards the end of his penning of descriptions for the two escapees, he tries to also draw a sketch of them with word's of guidance before passing the sheets out. One to the Mayor for the bounty, and the other to Blitzen on the list of upgrades. "If needed added hands we could ask around. Though you know the people here better than I do. And, I trust you know folk... that can be trusted on the work."He says the last part while eyeing the rest of the party.
Figured before the Mayor showed there was enough time for at least a short discussion on possible upgrades. Though if not, nevermind the list.

(yeah, you can either in character talk to blitzen about upgrades you you can discuss in the OOC chat and just hand him your list of upgrades and he can get to work)
The mayor would look to Sayre and then to the new disheveled looking recruit standing behind her next to Chip and Gus. "Yes... I agree. When the bloodscales started to take over, they worked to convince the current guards to quit... either through threats or bribes... and those that wouldn't quit were eliminated until only Payne remained." The gnome would say shaking his head. "While you all have done a great job in inspiring the town and helping to eliminate some of the fears that were preventing us from getting new recruits prior to your arrival... I fear that it will take a great deal of effort to convince many of the folks around here to join the watch again...." Mr. Higgins will say in an exhausted tone. "I had tried a number of things to get new recruits... and the only plan I was able to execute that produced results was the one that resulted in you and your companions joining up and helping out our town... Perhaps you all can come up with a plan.... a tournement... a competition... a festival... something.. that might get people together... get people incentivised to join the watch again... I would be willing to pay for any idea you all can agree upon." The gnome will say turning and picking up his top hat and placing it on his head. The mayor will wait around a short while to listen to any ideas or responses before leaving, either to work on implementing whatever plan the team decides to to work on existing matters related to running the town.
"Outsiders are the problem mayor Higgins. I think we should close the town....maybe the wall is a good investment to prevent undesirables from waltzing in. Where's the coach that came earlier gone too that deposited the BSers at our doorstep," Sayre asks with a deep frown. "I'm not ashamed to say we're well out of our depth here," she adds.

"You say a carriage dropped off the old woman? Did you see the carriage? If you know what it looked like I can try to send word around town that we are looking for one" The Mayor will say excitedly
(Yeah, you guys could definitally fix the inn and then help get a wall constructed, whatever you all wanna do :D you tell me your plans and I will make it happen)
Hearing the familiar voice of the mayor from below, Thimbol would walk up stairs to greet Higgins. "Mr. Higgins. You're not leaving so quickly are you? Were you offered any of Lorarila's tea? Please, come and sit. I think there's much to discuss."
The mayor would look to the halfling and smile. "Thimbol my boy, you are correct, I have not had any tea... Sure I am spend some time with you friend." Higgins will say removing his had and taking a seat at the table.
Thimbol looked over to Lorarila, "Some tea for the mayor, please." Glancing toward the others, "What's been the discussion... upgrades? Blood scales? The town? We need to come up with a choice for all, but I think the longer we sit the more time we give the blood scales to act. Which they have every time. We'll never know the right choice, but we definitely have to make one. Building a wall is a nice thought, but that won't happen over night and everyone in town isn't willing to take up arms to defend themselves. It's not like the blood scales are just coming in and killing people left and right... trying for us since we stopped their one assassination attempt on the mayor. The town is... relatively safe if say we needed to step away from the village for a bit
The halfling sighing slightly to himself as he mulls over a few options, "I'm gonna step out real quick to grab some firewood from around back." With a tip of his hat, Thimbol would step outside, but the moment the door closed and he was clear of windows, he took off as fast as his halfling legs accompanied by the boots of speed would allow. Making his way for the Mayor's office.
"No I didn't see the carriage. I assumed it was just thd regular route through town. Forget it. It's probably another wild goose chase. As for what Thimbol says u disagree. The Bloodscales were here harassing tne villagers before we arrived hence why we were asked to help. I think leaving is the worst idea. We'll come back to tje village completely under their control and NO way to take it back," she reminds the halfling as well as her other companions before Thimbol excuses himself. "We aren't alone. I also think a member of your inner circle might be helping these bandits," she exclaims next with a grimace. "I just don't know who..." She trails off in thought before springing to her feet. "Repairs now then we should get on arrangements for a constant watch rotation and the wall," she says moving towards the door. "Shall we get started," she asks expectantly.
(Now I am not saying they did or did not go to the woods... people saw them head towards the river / trees in-between the inn and the docks... and Payne thinks that she lost them at the docks...
