"Hey now... I have seen plenty of wolves.. and this one is a giant one alright!" Kip would say defiantly. "You don't have to be the biggest and strongest to be a good hunter!" He would exclaim as he rounds the corner and brings them to the large pen containing the wolf. As kip approaches the edge of the pen, he would pull out a piece of salted meat and toss it through one of the small gaps between the thick wooden posts that are containing the wolf. Kip would take a moment and cast speak with animals before talking to the wolf on the other side of the fence. "Hello Hagger.... I was hoping that maybe we could be friends... now I know in the past you have eaten a few of our farm animals... and even one unlucky squirreling..." The squirreling would say talking through the crack in the fence to the large beast whose shadow can be seen moving on the other side of the wooden posts. "And I know you don't like me for capturing you... but I am the only reason you are still alive... everyone else wanted you dead. I was the only one that thought you could be changed... and turned into a protector instead of a predator... So Anyway... We could really use your help with something that is really important.. so If you help us.. and show that you arn't as bad as they think.. maybe you can be free again.. so what do you say?" Kip would say with a hopeful smile as he casts animal friendship.
Penris watches in awe as Kip talks through the fence to the large shadowy beast on the other side. "Do we need a wolf to help us?" she asks Vanyel, while still eyeing the large shadow of the wolf.
Vanyel eats his words as they come to the structure housing the wolf. Though the area is darkened by shade, the movement inside is that of a decent sized creature. It growls aggressively as you approach.
After Kip's words, and spell, the wolf seems less aggressive...for now. But it is now finally listening to you.
Penris tries peeking through the fence, moving her head all around, trying to get a better look at what is inside. Frustrated when she can't see, she darts over to Vanyel and climbs up to his shoulder, trying to peek over the fence that way.
(OOC: So I was trying to give off "Sand Lot" vibes with the large creature moving around on the other side of the fence lol. Did you want me to describe the wolf DM?)
So as Penris climbs atop the hulking bugbear, she finally manages to clearly see Hagger. The wolf is much larger than an average wolf, but not so large ad to be confused for a dire wolf. The wild muscular wolf covered primarily a mixture of brown and black fur that sways in the gentle breeze that blows through the slats of the fence. Around his face and chest, patches of silver and gray hair reveal the wolf to be rather old. While Kip speaks to the creature, Penris watches as the fierce animal slowly stips pacing, and instead sits near the squirreling on the other side if the fence.. looking as though he were an old battle worn king considering a truce. Once kip was done talking, the wolf would give the slightest of nods... at which point Kip would move to the heavy gate and and begin unlatching the several metal latches and safeguards put into place to prevent his escape. once unlocked, Kip would strain against the heavy gate , pulling it open just enough for the wolf to slip through. As the gate opens, Hagger would stand up and proudly walk through before standing near Kip and sitting down. Sitting down with its head help high, it was nearly as tall as the squirrling standing next to him. "Vanyel, Penris.. This is Hagger. He has agreed to help us in our quest... Hagger... these are our friends... they are friends.. not food.. ok"
As Penris takes in the sight of the old wolf, her eyes widen. "Kip! You fought him all by yourself?! You're so brave!" she cries. She scrambles down from Vanyel's shoulder as Hagger moves to sit beside Kip. She stops a safe distance from him and bows slightly. "Greetings, Hagger. It will be an honor to have you in our party." She looks at Kip and squees quietly and then whispers (loudly) to Kip, "He's soooo adorable! Do you think he would mind if I hugged him?"
"I think ummm... he might try to destroy you" Kip would say in all seriousness to Penris before quickly riffling through his pack and offering a few slabs of dried meat to Hagger. "It took a lot of planning to catch old Hagger here... "Kip would say as he attempts to give Hagger the tiniest of pets before quickly pulling his hand away. "He was the leader of a whole pack of wolves that had been causing all kinds of problems.... they threw a little parade here in the squirrling district once I caught him" Kip would say puffing up a bit. "Anyway... I was hoping we could use his superior senses... as well as his jaws and claws... to help us find what we are looking for" Kip would say looking to the others.
Penris looks at Kip slack-jawed. "They gave you a parade?!" she says in awe. She looks back at Hagger and her hands twitch, so she quickly hides them behind her back. Must not hug the adorable wolf, she says to herself. She bows again slightly to the wolf and says, "Hagger, I'm so glad to meet you and I hope we can become friends. We're looking for the hag's master and she said he lives in a tower to the south. Do you know where it is? Oh! And do you know anything about a diamond?" She looks at Hagger hopefully.
Vanyel just stands there slightly amazed at the size of the wolf his companion captured before thinking about it in a totally different way. "If I was sent by The Mighty to protect THESE little ones then I must be stronger than I realized!" He then turned to his companions. "Kip, I believe it would be wise to bring your wolf friend with us. Having another with good instincts and senses to help on watch would be a boon."

Penris just nods. "Kip's right - we need to get moving. And I think Hagger here is going to be a big help, aren't you, old one?" she says with a bright smile at Hagger, her fingers twitching as she restrains herself from petting him. "Can you show us the way to go, Hagger?"

I was wondering how you planned to walk the wolf into town, though with Hagger I think everyone would think your an adventuring group; so that would probably help.)

(It feels more appropriate for Kip to describe the wolf. Roll for wolf 11)
(It failed, crit failed.)
(OOC: so the wolf loves me forever now right?)

Hagger's eyes shift to look Penris in the eyes, and gives just the softest of growls. You feel that it may be too soon for hugs.
He then turns slightly towards Kip, sniffing in your direction, as if expecting something.
