As he watched Shiv and Lang fight, Jevyn leaned over to Captain Witherwick. "My prowess comes from my skill with magecraft. Do you still wish me to engage in armed combat? And if I do, am I allowed to use magic to augment my abilities as I normally would?"

Lang is prepared this time, and she attempts to dodge your blows.

She ducks the first attack but Shiv's second sword cracks against her knee painfully. Furious, she launches an offensive.

The first attack connects with Shiv's shoulder but the second he blocks with his tail. Lang staggers back. "A third pass!" She yells. The score is Shiv 3, Lang 2.

The captain looks at you with interest. "Magic, eh? I'll get our mage, Mormio, to test you."

He says something to a lounging guard and the man runs off to fetch the mage.

(So I have not been using his ability to smack her with his tail when he takes a hit because he is trying to be fair.. not sure if that impresses her or not :P)

Shiv, will grin towards the woman again... rotating his shoulder where she hit him and giving his blades another twirl. "This is the most fun I have had all week!"

Leaves' arrow whistles through the air and thuds a millimeter away from the Bowmasters shaft. "Very good, very good!" He says. " But let us have a proper match, another four arrows each.

Shiv, breathing hard with a huge smile on his face will nod to lang before wiping a small trickle of blood out of the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. "That was fun!" The green viashino will say huffing and puffing as he tries to catch his breath. "So... Uhh... where do I sign?" The lizard will say breathlessly looking towards the woman as he returns the practice weapons to their rack.

Witherwick moves to congratulate you. "Hm. Well fought indeed. Salary is 3 gold pieces a day, weapons and armor provided by The Watch. You will work two 4-hour shifts, one during the night and one during the day. Do you accept?"

Leaves attempted to copy the archers better shots and discarded the poorer ones.
