Leon wakes in the morning and exits his room after getting ready.
Believing Rowland and Elmo might have slept in after staying up later, Leon asks one of the attendees if they have seen Grem and is directed towards the “gym.”
Upon entering, Leon calls to Grem
”Hey pops! Dawnbringer and I are looking for a little practice this morning. Care to teach your boy a few moves before your big drinking competition?”
"Morning My boy! glad to see you are here and in fine spirits! Thought you may have snuck out with Elmo and thems... (he chuckles!). Fancy some sparring do ye? well then! (he hefts a practice Mace). Just don't be igniting ye girl there and singing me beard! Lets see what ye got?"

“It’s a sword of light my old my not fire. Dawnbringer wouldn’t dare hurt my father and neither would I. If you are scared we can just do some yoga if you prefer.”
"Lad! Well done! Seems you have been getting to know that fine blade! I'm glad we wrested it from the clutches of those foul spirits! As a Warrior, you must be in sync and move as one with your weapon! In adbar we call it the dwarven waltz! best 2 out of three eh! "
Grems feints low, aiming for the mid-section, then using his dwarven yoga skills spins brings the mace up and down towards Leon's shoulder.
Leon sees the attack coming from Grem. Not well fainted and completely telegraphed. Leon also sees the attack is way off target. Leon moves to the side and slaps Grem on the ass with Dawnbringer as Grem mace slams to the ground.
“You must be slipping in your old age old man. Back in my day in AllField we used to put are old retired folks in homes so they didn’t hurt themselves. Shall we just go back to Yoga then?”

Leon falls to ground from the attack.
”Oh the pain. Ahhhh!!!”
Leon reaches his arm into the air and attempts to reach for Grem
”Grem!?! Grem are you there? My life... my life is flashing before my eyes. Is this the end? Killed by the mighty blow of a mighty dwarven paladin. Betrayed by my father. Oh what a world. I wonder... will I still dream?”
Leon pretends to die with his eyes open. Leon uses his left hand and rubs it down over his eyes to close them.
Letting his youthful arrogance get the better of him, he isn't fast enough or strong enough.
Gremryl hits Leon in the thigh while hit him in the stomach with his shoulder effectively doing a single mace take down and knocking Leon on his bum...
Standing over him " Aye lad, Dwarven Yoga works for the mind and the muscles. Ye have come along way, and I look forward to more of these sessions lad. Come, lets get some breakfast and find Hemeth and the others... maybe the chortle will have something to add eh?"
He helps leon up and pats him on the shoulder and as they walk you can he gremryl say " Ye know ye moved like a dark elf i once met... fast as the wind and twice as deadly lad.. he was always so serious though..."
”Thanks pops. I don’t talk about this much but lost my old man at a young age so I truly appreciate this. Having a fatherly figure’s guidance is something I haven’t had in quite some time.”
Feeling awkward, Leon gives Grem a side hug and pats him on the head.
“Now let us enjoy our breakfast. Hopefully Rowland and Elmo came back safely last night.”
Grem regards Leon in a different light.. The lad lost his dad and is still the the honorable smart young cleric he sees before him now. Normally Gremryl Stonebreak gets his head patted by no man! But... He lets it slide on this occasion.
"Sorry to hear that lad. May he drink his ale at the table with Moradin, and his forge always burn. He'd be proud of the Man that stands before me now. You have my word I'll always be there for you lad! Despite what happened at the gate.. You giving that cursed guard the finger for me! saying 'no one talks shit to my Old man!' .. Classic my boy! Ye stood stalwart like a Stone in the river. In Adbar we say " Character is the anvil upon which dwarven leaders are made. Ye got some iron in ye boy." Lets get some breakfast! I wonder if that Chortle is awake?Do they sleep? He stopped talking after a while.. "
The rest of the guests of the house are woken up and led to a main dining hall where a feast of breakfast delights are served. Gremryl and Leon are fetched from the training hall. Elmo and Rowland are fetched as well. Mikey is also woken up and led to the main dining hall. Welcoming the group to the assortment of baked pastries, dried meats, egg scrambles, fresh fruits and breakfast ales, Hemeth sits everyone down and begins laying out the plans for the operation.
He confirms that Gremryl and Mikey will be participating in the Underdark Brewery Contest along with Moriska, Ghuldur, Dormo and Hemeth representing Gauntlgrym, Mantol-Derith and Gracklstugh respectively. Leon, Rowland, and Elmo will be accompanying Sirak and a group of Holderhek's Duergar operatives infiltrate the Keepers of the Flame's enclave to consort with Themberchaud and obtain his support towards the eradication of the demonic influence growing in the Underdark.
After laying out the plans, he asks if anybody has any questions.
Master Hemeth I have some questions. Obviously Grem has the box that belongs to Themberchaud which could be a powerful bargaining chip for us but due to the demonic influences attached to the box I don’t know how quickly we should offer it up or use it. I know Rowland you have a claim to this box and I feel you should have a high stakes claim on what happens with this box but I still think it is something we need to decide together while we are all here. Master Hemeth do you know of anything we could use or say that might swing favor of the dragon to our side? Or perhaps do you know a power cleric or wizard that might be able to decurse this box so it doesn’t turn Themberchaud himself to evil?
Gremryl nods as leon talks, munching on some tasty bacon. He winces slightly at a bruise that wasn't there before his bout with Leon.
"Aye, I'm not a big fan of just handing over this box to a red dragon. Ye saw what it did to me! And Elmo! He wet his pants holding that cursed box. Aside from that, what are we to do if we are attacked during the contest? Those dam drow are out there and with Master Rowland and Master Elmo's exploits from last night, who knows what other threats will be about? Are we able to bring out gear with us? Lastly, what will everyone say when Gremryl takes 1st place eh?"
"In case team tasty dragon snacks doesn't make it back, Ye should be knowing that there is a location that we visited last night" Elmo pulls out the map that Leon gave them last night and tosses it to grem. Elmo addresses the room, "As some of ye know, we were told that a Derro named Droki was abducting and killing children in town. Yesterday, me mate Leon over there (elmo points) found his location, and last night me new mate Rowland and I scouted it out. The house ye see on the map isn't its true form. It actually be a dark tunnel that descends for a bit. While inside we killed a crazed Derro who had escaped the drow camps with Grem and myself. His name is Bupido, and knowing him, I think you'll find him wanted by yer peace keepers. It was dark in the room, and me halfling eyes fair far better on the surface, but in that room I believe you'll find the gristly remains of many a fine duergar. I bring up this topic because, as we all know, a darkness is engulfing this fair city. The two derro that I mentioned are all mixed up in nefarious activities to bring yerr city down from the inside. And I fear time is running out to act. While we are engaged with the activities today, both being in a drinking competition, and being a dragon snack (Elmo's face looks mildly annoyed), Ol'Elmo thanks that it would be wise to send investigators to the place I discussed. Ye may be able to find clues to the plans of the crazed derros. I believe we trapped Droki. Ye should send guards quickly to go and bring him in for questioning. (If they decide to send guards or agents then Elmo gives detailed directions on where the guards would find the shrinking mushrooms, the rock blocking the entrance to the small cave, and where the cave with the bodies is. He tells the guards that Droki may be invisible)
Hemeth - "Leon, I know only that the mysterious box is somehow related to Themberchaud. What you do with that knowledge, or if you give the box to him is a decision I leave to you and your group. I'm sorry that I don't know someone who can provide you a means to open it safely" he says apologetically.
Hemeth - "Grems, ol' buddy...let's get one thing straight here and now. I'm winning that contest. Secondly, I will have my men at the ready to engage any who would dare to disrupt our merriment. That said, aside from your weapons, which will be made available next to the stage, what you are wearing now will be fine." he says somewhat reassuringly to Gremryl.
Rowland nods in acknowledgment to Leon when he speaks of the box otherwise he stays silent and sips down some more ale, awaiting Hemeths response still not quite certain why a dragon would want it in the first place.
Hemeth - "Most concerning indeed. Very well, I'll send a few of my men there to investigate without delay and I thank you for this information." He calls over one of his attendants and gives him instructions to gather a few men and investigate the area indicated on the map.
"Ahh the ring did become very useful indeed friend. I left it in our little friend's possession and he was able to stay in the fight with its aid. You have my thanks and I'm sure little master Elmo is thankful as well."
Rowland returns the ring to Leon.
"In regards to the type of foe, well we can't be sure, but it appeared to be this Droki you search for. He slipped away but we did find another one I believe you may have met called Buppido. We slew him with relative ease, but alas he summoned a small hoard of skeletons from the dead that lay among his decrepit lair and they nearly brought us to our knees. It was by some small miracle you'd call it that we are here now before you."
