Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
(Just a heads up that my wife is going to be out of town through Tuesday night, so Ive got the (three) kids to myself, meaning my posting will probably be spotty in the meantime. I'll try to keep up at least a post a day, but no promises.)
"Well, the bunch of dissected bodies isn't ominous or anything at least," Froskan says dryly as they gather back together, though his face looks a bit green. "They all seem to be different forms of constructed beings."
Reverie: From the other mansions you went to when you were younger, and the stylings of the original double doors, you suspect that it was the dining room. But maybe not any more, after seeing what was done to the master bedroom.)

"Trim, a bunch of the fluids in these beakers ate through the things it landed on. Some kind of acid." Isk says while taking a look at the bubbling, "We should take care while searching the rest of the house. On to the next room then?"
(So the plate armor is staying in the entranceway, and bottle found by Isk is left in the room. Is that right?
Is the group planning on checking the west door at the northern part of the hallway, the east door opposite it, or the sealed double doors leading to the dining area?)

"That's what I'd like to know about it. I don't know who is using this mansion into their purpose." Reverie says as she walks towards the dining room door with Trim. And yet, she looks at Iskandar and follows his gaze at the bubbling on the floor. This mansion is getting weirder. "Yes, to the next room. But I'd like to check the dining room." As soon as she stands in front of the double door, she opens the door carefully to see the dining room.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
(From post 1767: The double-doors to your east have been boarded over, and iron bars to reinforce them. The handles are wrapped in chains.)
The double doors are sealed shut. To get through them will require hacking & breaking down the doors, which will take about a minute. That will generate a lot of noise.
(You can do this, if you want. But back in post 1771, Froskan suggested trying the other unbarred doors first. I want to check if there was a change in plans.)

A single bursting arrow would not be enough to break the reinforced doors. Even 2 is unlikely to be enough.
(Your group will eventually get through the doors, even without bursting arrows, but everyone and everything in the house will be alerted and have time to prepare.)

Reverie hums, looking around the double door for a moment before she looks back at Trim. "Maybe we can check this one later, Trim. We can go to the other doors." Then she moves to the west door on the hallway. Once her steps cease in front of the west door, she slowly opens it and peeking in if anything happened in the room.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
Reverie opens the door with a creak... to see a home library. (Nothing leaps out to attack you.) The room is 2 stories high. There are six 10' wide bookcases lining the north and south walls. Each bookcase has a plaque at eye level with an Elven number on them, from 1 to 6. Scattered around the room are lightweight chairs and book-sized table stands. Both the north and south sides of the room have a rolling library ladder, with rails along the front of the bookcases, to allow access to the shelves higher up. (The ladders are currently all the way to the east, in front of "1" and "6".)
Reverie notices that this room had a lot of foot traffic, much more than the master bedroom. The floor is dusty (no housecleaning), but it looks like the room has been entered recently.
Trimyrai notices that the bookcases are about a quarter-filled. There are a few books on the high shelves, but most are accessible without using the ladder.
(If your party decides to investigate, there are a lot of books. It may take some time to do even a simple check... And put some detail about what you are investigating. "Looking at the books" means standing 5' away and looking at them. Different than "read some of the titles on the book spines" or "pull out a book in front of me and flip through the pages for a minute" or "slide the ladder to shelf 2 to look at the books higher up".)

Isk puts runs his fingers along the books and hmmms to humself. He will glance the titles of the books, looking for alchemy guides and books on potion making. Investigation: 5
(I think we'll partially ignore those Investigation rolls.)
Froskan and Iskander skim over the titles quickly (a 10th of the books), and are limited to the shelves from waist to eye level. The books are evenly split between Elvish and Common languages, with a smattering of other languages mixed in. (There are some titles written in Draconic and Celestal.) Cases 4, 5, and 6 seem devoted to family stories, poetry, and non-fiction (history, cookbooks, etc.),
Case 2 has titles related to magic. Froskan recognizes a few of the titles from when he was studying with the hermits and sages in the wilds. The familiar ones are very elementary, or on the crazy fringe. (There are some in both categories that apply to alchemy and potion making.)
