Grendals eyes calm, but he doesn't seem to relax his body at all.
"My name is G...Grendal, but yes as my friend said, what exactly is this place?"
Description:
The Dwarf is a slim build in comparison to most of his kind though still well defined in his figure. He is wearing a redish brown robe tied with black rope at his stomach and his arms and legs are bond with black cloth. He has a small extra wrapping on his legs wear he keeps his throwing knives (Darts). However on his back you see a large warhammer and to light hammers sitting on a back brace so they don't move or make noise when he moves.
He has simple features on his face though a strong dwarven beard sits on his chin and a top knot tied high on his head, all his hair is brown and his eyes the same colour.
"talking to this...gentleman", Alzaren says with a nod toward the man in question. "And trying to figure out how to retrieve the box from the bottom of the flames here."
"Well," Alzaren says dryly, "That pile of ash right there," he waves at the pile, "was another of our party who tried sticking his hand in the flames. So I wouldn't do that."
He looks between the newcomers. "Myself, I've tried my mage hand spell, which vanished as it entered the flames; and trying sticking my pact weapon into the fire to lever it out with that, but the blade stopped as if it had hit a wall, couldn't get it into the flames."
He ponders for a moment, staring into the flames. "Haven't tried anything nonmagical yet," he says musingly, then pulls a crowbar out of his pack and makes another attempt at levering the chest out, using the crowbar instead of his pact weapon this time."
Horace watches the scene unfold, staying quiet as you introduce yourselves.
The crowbar seems to be working. It’s stuck hard, but you’re able to pry it out. It falls to the floor.
Horace nods happily. “Oh, such success!”
The box is small. It’s a miniature chest in appearance. Small enough to hold in your hand.

Alzaren holds a hand near the chest (without touching it) to see if it feels hot from being in the fire. While doing so, he visually inspects it for traps (investigation: 12). If he doesn't find any traps and it doesn't feel like it will burn him, he attempts to open it.
It’s cool to the feel and there doesn’t seem to be any traps.
Upon opening it you find a small glossy stone, perfectly round in shape and obsidian in color.
It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

'The temple of past importance," Alzaren replies. "Though what that really means..." He shrugs.
“Past importance you say? That does sound weird, what were you doing before we interrupted?”
Grendal begins to slowly walk towards the others.

Wander slowly steos forward while still keeping his arrow knocked. He is obviously slow to trust if this is anything to go by.

Wander will move closer to inspect the chest but loses interest as it opens without much of a problem.

Here we are, busy as hell
Does the stone seem to have any magical energy coming from it? Or perhaps anyone better suited to magic to have a look?
