M'orron asks his owl to move out again, flying just ahead of the group enough that they can still make each other out in the fog. As the group carefully moves forward, they hear the echo of a metal whistle being blown.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not wanting to be caught off guard again Aurhook flies over the party circling as they move forward staying just within his visual, and uses perception to attempt to determine what is making the whistling sound.
The group hears the echo of rushing footsteps as figures begin headed towards the group from within the fog. However, upon getting close enough it is revealed they are not the misty creature from before, but six humans garbed in long dark blue coats with chain mail glistening beneath the open front. The one in the lead wears a helm and is carrying a drawn longsword, their approach slows as they see the party.
"Halt!" The one in the lead calls, holding their blade at the ready. "Identify yourselves."
As Aurhook lands, two of the guards train crossbows on the avian figure. "We are members of the watch, you would be best to show some respect."
"Hold on," One of them steps forward. "Aren't these the ones the captain found? A couple of fey and a couple of birdfolk?"
"It appears so." The helmed one responds, he then addresses the group. "In which case, you should follow us. The streets aren't safe for normal citizens."
"Well from our intel you are not registered citizens." The helmed one states. "Now, come with us to see the captain or you can be left to your fog monster."
Kysdove shakes her head, not seeing the thing but looking and listening for it, "Nope."
Perception roll 15
She'll hold onto another Eldritch Blast for when it reappears.
"No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow"
"No power in the 'verse can stop me"
Aurhook strikes at the mist, but appears that the creature is no longer there.
Looking around, it seems impossible to locate the creature, as if it were one with the rest of the fog.
(Note: to do Perception checks requires a Search action, so you wouldn't be able to ready a spell in the same turn.)
The Mist seemingly doesn't coalesce again. It appears that the group has fended it off... for now...
(We can move out of initiative order for the time being.)
M'orron looks around "I think we can move forward for now, but keep your eyes open".
M'orron let Figaro fly up a 20 ft in front to do some scouting

"Who's asking?" Says Aurhook as he lands near front of the party
As Aurhook lands, two of the guards train crossbows on the avian figure. "We are members of the watch, you would be best to show some respect."
"Hold on," One of them steps forward. "Aren't these the ones the captain found? A couple of fey and a couple of birdfolk?"

M'orron smiles and says: "Ain't nothing normal about that one" Pointing to Aurhook
"You where supposed to pick us up and protect us? Because we just fought some fog monster here, but it seems to have fled."
Ilin (Water Genisi - Tempest priest) - Sorrow
M'orron (Eladrin - Wizard) - City of sorrow
"I only respect those deserving of it, watchman" Aurhook replies to the guard "given how you so nonchalantly threaten a civil group I doubt you are."
"Thanks moron" Aurhook responds to M'orron while rolling his eyes "because your just sooo normal yourself"
"Well from our intel you are not registered citizens." The helmed one states. "Now, come with us to see the captain or you can be left to your fog monster."
