A fountain of water sits against the east wall, and several pieces of spoiled meat are scattered throughout the room. The chamber is small and rectangular, with a door in the east and west walls and an archway in the west wall.
Humprhy walks over to one of chunks of flesh and tries to determine from what source they are begotten. Survival/Nature(same modifier)23 He also goes over to the western archway, and peers beyond. Perception 13
The foul stench exuded by the meat indicates it to be giant rat. In the room beyond the archway Humphry is greeted by a grim sight. A specter struggles against the chains which bind it to the west wall, and the walls, floor, and ceiling are coated in a thin sheet of ice. Someone has scrawled "right, door, straight, left, door" on the east wall, and an acrid odor fills the room.
Dagon wrinkles his nose at the foul smell of the rotten meat and he snarls audibly in displeasure, but never the less the hulking warrior enters the room warily and looks around suspiciously. He makes note of the fountain and looks from one door to the next, and then watches as Humphry nears the western archway. Not wanting his companion to risk danger by venturing forth alone, the half-orc follows the gnome at a few paces back, giving the smaller gladiator space enough for him to conduct his investigations. Not close enough to clearly see what lies beyond the archway, Dagon hears what sounds like chains rattling and he grips his greataxe tightly in preparation for battle, dark gaze fixed on the gnome ahead of him.
"What is that, little hunter? Have you found more prey?" The marauder's rumbling voice is quiet but tinged with an unmistakable eagerness, as though excited about the prospect of once again indulging in the frenetic rush of combat.
Humphry stares at the sight of the specter confused for a few moments, before reacting to Dagon's inquiry, "It's a ghost th-that's chained up?" Not taking his eyes off the strange sight, he beckons the half-orc over with a hand gesture, "Come... l-l-l-look, it's really quite strange."

The half-orc approaches and joins Humphry beyond the archway, and he is immediately taken aback by the surrounding environment. His attention is quickly drawn to the rattling chains and the specter somehow contained within, and Dagon instinctively moves to stand protectively between the gnome and the undead abomination.
"Be careful, little hunter." The marauder's voice is tense, and his body is braced for the unexpected. "There is a foul magic at work here. To bind the soul of the dead in such a manner... it is as unnatural as it is cruel. It may harbor great anger and outrage, remain vigilant."
As the specter seems, for the moment at least, bound by the chains, Dagon will look around the strange room and mutter to himself in his pigeon language. His eyes fix on the scrawlings written on the east wall and the half-orc takes a moment to commit them to memory, then still keeping a side-eye on the specter, he approaches closer to one of the walls to inspect the ice that coats the surface. He would not have guessed that it was cold enough to freeze water in this dungeon, nor could he explain how the water could have coated the walls, floor and ceiling. Something was definitely not what it seemed in here, and the strange, acrid odor was beginning to offend the warrior's olfactory sense. "This is a bad chamber little hunter..." The half-orc mutters beneath his breath.
Despite the unpleasantness of the smell in the room, Dagon tries sniffing aggressively again in an attempt to somehow identify what the odor might be.

As the human whispered in to Humphry's ear, both of them saw the ursine form of their Aarakocra companion nonchalantly approach and attack the specter. "Hmmmm, probably not a-a-anymore..."

Though momentarily stunned by Kic's disarmingly casual assault of the specter, Dagon quickly gathered his faculties and sprang into action. Though the specter was chained, the half-orc could not guess at it's ethereal capabilities and absolutely would not leave his companion to battle the abomination by himself. Greataxe rising into the air, the marauder bellowed a primal cry of aggression and leapt at the specter, swinging his massive weapon in a wide two-handed arc at the creature's shackled form.

Kic is also interested in the meat. For science purposes...digestive purposes...to eat...

Dagon has smelled this scent many times before: the acrid tang of blood.

"Do you think w-w-we can kill it?" Humprhy says looking up at the half-orc from between his legs.

Perry slides up to Humphry, "Maybe we can persuade the spirit to attack the others if we set it free..."
Perry blinks in disbelief at Kic's actions as he slides away from Humphry, "I'm not with them. "

The second Kic goes for the specter the illusory chains vanish and the specter leaps forward, pale hands grasping at Kic's furry throat.
